The Harold C. Price / U-Haul House: A Video Tour by Frank Henry
Frank Myron Henry (1934-2013) was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright when he met him while a student at Phoenix Community College. Mr. Henry was on site several times with Mr. Wright during construction of the Harold C. Price / U-Haul House. Frank became the first Arizona graduate to receive a Bachelor of Architecture when he graduated from Arizona State University in 1960. His senior thesis was chosen by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as the best in the nation. Frank's knowledge and focus later resulted in him being named Studio Master Emeritus at Taliesin West's Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture.
Mr. Henry generously toured groups through the U-Haul House for a decade. He concluded each tour of the house with a quote from Mr. Wright: After 65 years, I finally put it together here.
Enjoy this American Masterpiece.

071019 Arizona Frank Lloyd Wright House
Frank Lloyd Wright's vision for the Arizona state capitol is incredibly fascinating
Well, let's just say Frank Lloyd Wright had a completely different idea of what the Arizona state capitol should have looked like.
It's incredibly fascinating.
Wright was so appalled with the 1957 capitol proposal by the Arizona state legislature that he took it upon himself to design the building.
Wright referred to his vision as The Oasis and it included water fountains, vegetation, and a unique looking spire.
Do you recognize it?
Frank Lloyd Wright's design was never accepted by the state legislature, but in 2004 the spire was built and placed in Scottsdale.
Frank Lloyd Wright's apprentice and fellow architect, Arnold Roy, suggested the idea of building the now famous landmark and putting it on the corner of Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright.
Many people drive by it every single day, but do not know the history and what could have been.
The original rendering of the Arizona state capitol by Frank Lloyd Wright still sits in his office at his winter home of Taliesin West.
You can tour the extravagant complex and see the rendering in person just on the east side of Loop 101 in Scottsdale.

Frank Lloyd Wright Spire - Scottsdale Promonade
Scottsdale AZ: The Frank Lloyd Wright Spire - Quadcopter Video:
Also known as the Taliesin West Promenade Spire in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The Spire was designed in 1957, and built in 2004. It stands proudly at the intersections of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Scottsdale Roads in Scottsdale at The Promenade Mall.
It's the anchor to an upscale bus stop (yes that's a bus stop) and office / retail space. The spire or tower was originally designed for the Arizona State Capitol, and weighs more than 75,000 pounds.
The tower rises 127 feet and contains 1,700 blue translucent panels. At night, 142 lamps illuminate the spire from the inside, casting a blue hue for more than a mile.
The base contains several fountains and statutes. It it likely the most exotic and upscale bus stop in the United States!
This video was taken with a JJRC H8C equipped with 1080p camera from the H12C. You're talking about $100 give or take.
Uploading this for anyone interested in entry level quadcopters with HD video cameras. This includes the H8C, H12C, V686 FPV, DFD F181 and Syma X5C-1.
The final video has music and edits covering 2 separate flights. It can be viewed here:

Frank Lloyd Wright's Spire
This spire, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, was originally meant to be a centerpiece in the new Arizona State Capitol building. While the design was not used for the capitol building, as it was viewed as too contemporary for the time, it is instead a stand alone point of interest in Scottsdale, Arizona.
