Dawson City is a must stop, a national historic site that preserves an entire city, with many of its buildings dating back to the Klondike Gold Rush. An estimated 100,000 gold seekers headed for the Klondike in 1897, after news of George Carmack's 1896 discovery of gold on Rabbitt Creek reached the outside world, although only a fraction of them made it to Dawson City that first winter. A tent town with less than 500 people in 1896, Dawson boomed as the gold rush gained momentum, boasting some 30,000 residents by 1898. Visit the Dawson Museum for displays about the gold rush, or take in the Robert Service Show to recapture the spirit of the times. Dawson City meet Rita
July 7 2011 - This is Rita who we met on a dinner cruise aboard the Klondike Spirit. Rita had breast cancer 9 years ago and survived. Now she has end stage lung CA and does not want to know how much longer she has. She has had a dream to come to Dawson City for 30 years and even had a special dress made for the occasion. She made our boat trip!

Une petite ville qu'on peut visiter en une journée où il y a un mélange d'histoire, d'architecture, de paysage et de divertissement!
On a simplement adoré cette petite ville et si jamais vous pensez faire la route vers l'Alaska un jour, vous devez faire un arrêt ici!

Il faut savoir que nos vidéos ont quelques jours de retards sur notre ''vraie vie''. Dans la ''vraie vie'', on est déjà en Alaska et on est rendu au point où l'on va visiter un parc national dont on rêve depuis qu'on sait qu'on va visiter l'Alaska, Denali National Park!
Le hic, c'est qu'il n'y a pas de réseau à l'intérieur du parc et nous ne serons pas en mesure de vous envoyer les prochains épisodes... Vous allez devoir prendre votre café du matin sans nous pour les 5 prochains jours. N'ayez de crainte, vous allez pouvoir reprendre l'histoire au même point :) .
L'autre hic, c'est qu'il annonce de la neige et des températures autour du point de congélation. On capote un peu, mais c'est le genre d'endroit que tu vas voir une fois dans ta vie, alors, on va s'habiller chaudement et en profiter au maximum!
