Snowpocalypse in Cottonwood, AZ
We traveled to Cottonwood (aka the desert!) for our Grandma's 100th birthday and got caught in the snow storm of the century! Nearby Flagstaff broke their record for snowfall in 24 hours.....35.9 inches!!!! Previous record was 31.6 inches in 1915.

This is a short video of us leaving Deadhorse Ranch State Park heading to Quartzite Arizona, stopped over for a few day at Saddle Mountain RV Park in Tonopah Arizona which is about a half hour West of Phoenix on I-10. A beautiful well maintained RV Park with full hook-ups. Will defiantly be staying there again. Also you will see some of the beautiful scenery in between. (ARIZONA HIGHWAYS TV) - In February 2019, TripAdvisor named The Tavern Hotel as one of the most romantic hotels in the country and we agree, it's pretty special.
Woman in Cottonwood explains flying Confederate flag in Cottonwood, Az
Penny Fortner, owner of the Barter Inn which sells old military goods and items, said that the confederate flag she is flying downtown Cottonwood is not a sign of racism and is “part of history.” The flag is covered under her first amendment rights, explained Fortner. She has been flying the flag for 30 years, off and on, and changing it with other flags she sells, mostly military flags such as a “Don’t Tread on Me Flag.” Fortner said she’s been getting many orders for the Confederate flags and that is why she is flying it. Recently, Fortner said she was having difficulty getting the Confederate flags after South Carolina passed legislation to remove the Confederate battle flag from State capitol grounds last summer because it was viewed as a reminder of racial division. But Fortner said she wanted all her customers know, who have been wanting to purchase a flag, that she now has them in stock. “I’m not a racist at all,” Fortner explained. It’s equally as popular as my military flags. It’s also a matter of freedom of speech, she said. VVN/Vyto Starinskas
