Chocolate in Belgium, in Antwerp, is always a temptation. Lots of beautiful stores but in the neighbourhood where I needed to be only this single shop. I liked the window and didnt go inside to buy chocolate, used my budget for something else.

ベルギー、アントワープにあるチョコレートの老舗、デルレイ本店です。 日本と違ってこちらははかり売りが主流、２５０ｇ、５００g、７５０ｇ用の箱がそろっていました。 日本のお店では一粒売りのようです。 併設されている喫茶店のホットチョコレートも美味しいです。場所はアントワープ中央駅の横から歩いて３分程、日本レストランWAGAMAMA前の道を挟んで反対側。 （２０１３年６月撮影）

Belgium, famous for its chocolates all over the world, is, just like many other countries, in the grip of World Cup Football (soccer) fever.
And in an unusual twist, it's managed to combine the two.
As the World Cup gets underway in France, people all around the globe are commemorating the event in different ways.
In Belgium they've managed to combine a love of football (soccer) with a tradition of making fine chocolates.
The world famous chocolatier Hans Burie in Antwerp is well known for his artistical creations in chocolate.
With the World Cup coming up he's selling more and more related products.

I'm 45 years in the chocolates, every four years you have the cup of the Mondial (world cup) so I make every four years a shop just of the football of the world cup.

His shop window is full of World Cup tickets, footballs, Eiffel Towers and the World Cup itself in chocolate.
And Burie does good business, specially with women.

I am buying chocolate for my boyfriend, he is a football fanatic. He watches football on every TV channel, Germany, France, etcetera. It just has to be football for him.

You may know him as the Pee-pee Boy. We know him as the Mannekin Pis. Records indicate the original Mannekin Pis was created in 1388. It was destroyed many centuries later. By popular demand, the City of Brussels commissioned Jerome Duquesnoy to build another in 1619. This statue is alive and well today, situated in the labyrinth of little shops that surround The Grand Place in Brussels, Belgium.
