Road Lottery: Denali National Park, Alaska * September, 16 2013 | HD 1080p
Each September the park hosts a four-day event called Road Lottery. During these four days, winners of a lottery drawing are given a chance to purchase a single, day-long permit, allowing them to drive as much of the Denali Park Road as weather allows. In years with heavy snowfall, the Park Road might be open no farther than Savage River (mile 15); in milder years, lottery winners are able to enjoy a trip out to Wonder Lake (mile 85).

O Parque Nacional Denali, localizado no Alasca central, é um imenso parque nacional de preservação dos Estados Unidos da América. Cobrindo 24 585 km², incluindo o Monte McKinley, o ponto mais elevado da América do Norte, cujo nome em língua atabasca é Denali.
O parque nacional foi inicialmente criado em 26 de Fevereiro de 1917 com a designação Parque Nacional Monte McKinley, apesar de o cume propriamente dito não estar incluído na área do parque; este parque foi designado reserva da biosfera em 1976. Em 1 de Dezembro de 1978 foi criado o Monumento Nacional Denali. After becoming inspired to explore far and away on motorcycles by the documentary Long Way Round, three friends; Greg, Kyle and Tom started making plans for their own journey from the Panhandle of Idaho, through Canada and up to Denali National Park in Alaska and beyond.
In this episode, plans had to evolve quick over the ~ 7 month span. Neither Greg or Kyle had motorcycles when the filming began. That didn't stop Tom from meticulously planning the route for the journey. We hope you enjoy watching our antics and angst!

Fun afternoon hike with Maggie! She got the better end of the deal and got to ride in her backpack! This is a beautiful lake located near the entrance of Denali National Park. There are beaver dams all over! It is truly a sight to see!

Denali Highway in May 2012 - Part 1 - from west to east
Der ca. 220 km lange Denali Highway ist eine der schönsten Straßen in Alaska und verbindet die Orte Cantwell und Paxson.
Bis 1971 war der 1957 gebaute Highway die einzige Straße zum Denali-Nationalpark. In den letzten 55 Jahren hat sich der Denali Highway seinen rauen, ursprünglichen Charakter bewahrt. Von den 220 Kilometern Strecke sind nur 34 Kilometer asphaltiert. Die Streckenführung ist kurvig, die Spur schmal und nach längeren Regenfällen äußerst rutschig und mit Schlaglöchern durchsetzt.
Belohnt wird man mit atemberaubenden Ansichten der alaskanischen Flora, Fauna und Bergwelt. Nicht nur während der Morgen- und Abendstunden kann man hier unvergessliche Blicke auf menschenscheue Wildtiere werfen.
Die eigentlich fischreichen Flüsse und Seen waren leider Anfang Mai größtenteils noch zugefroren wodurch die sonst zahlreichen Bären sich wohl noch anderweitig vergnügten. Dafür gab es ausreichend Elche, Caribou, Adler und auch einige Wölfe zu sehen.

Ultimate Adventure 2019 | Episode 5: Denali Highway and Stampede Trail
UA has been known to tackle the most extreme terrain around the United States, and for its 20th anniversary, the Alaska box had to be checked. Also, one can't really mark it without a drive on the Denali Highway, a 135 mile stretch of mostly unpaved road that is only accessible a few months of the year due to snowy conditions. Once upon a time, it was the only road access to the Denali National Park, so you can expect the most spectacular views from this stretch. Finally, the group sees some more action as they venture down the Stampede Trail where they encounter...yep...more infamous (and bottomless) Alaskan mud. | LEARN MORE:
