Devils Punch Bowl State Natural Area is a state day use park on the central Oregon Coast in the United States. It is centered on a large bowl naturally carved in a rock headland which is partially open to the Pacific Ocean. Waves enter the bowl and often violently churn, swirl, and foam. Outside the bowl, ocean conditions are attractive to surfers near a large offshore rock pinnacle named Gull Rock (located about a half mile WNW of Devils Punch Bowl), which funnels and concentrates waves easily seen from the park. There are at least seventeen large rocks, part of Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge, which provide interesting wave viewing, and attract and provide a home for wildlife.
Devils Punch Bowl is located about 8 miles north of Newport, Oregon in the community of Otter Rock, and about one-quarter mile west of U.S. Route 101. The park encompasses 5.34 acres which includes picnic grounds. There is a trail for access to the beach, and tide pools.
The bowl is thought to have been created when two caves carved by the ocean collapsed.
Whales migrate past the park, in season, and the park, which projects into the Pacific, provides panoramic views of the ocean and good whale watching.

Coast Guard Rescue Fisherman From Capsized Vessel Off Oregon Coast
Courtesy: DVIDS/US Coast Guard District 13
On April 11, a crew from Coast Guard Air Facility Newport rescued a man who had become stranded after his boat capsized a mile west of Devil’s Punchbowl Natural Area, a state park in Oregon.
According to reports from 4KPIC, the man was saved by his lifejacket, which allowed him to stay afloat and climb atop his boat until his rescuers arrived. Waves that day were up to 4-7 feet high.
This footage shows an aerial view of the rescue.

Thor's Well, Oregon, United States - Best Travel Destination
Thor’s Well is part of Cape Perpetua, a typical Pacific Northwest headland – a forested area of land on the central Oregon Coast, surrounded by water on three sides. Thor’s Well is also often simply called the Spouting Horn. It is essentially a huge salt water fountain operated by the Pacific Ocean's power. This natural spectacle is at its best when it’s the most dangerous to watch – at high tide or during winter storms. Thor’s Well can be accessed from the north side of Cook’s Chasm but there are sharp rocks everywhere and the danger of a strong surge sweeping brave visitors right up is high. Cape Perpetua is located about 2 miles (3 km) south of Yachats, Oregon along U.S. Route 101. It is a typical Pacific Northwest headland, forming a high steep bluff above the ocean. At its highest point, Cape Perpetua is a large forested headland on the central Oregon Coast which projects into the Pacific Ocean. The land is managed by the United States Forest Service as part of the Siuslaw National Forest. Cape Perpetua rises to over 800 feet (240 m) above sea level. From its crest, an observer can see 70 miles (110 km) of Oregon coastline and as far as 37 miles (60 km) out to sea on a clear day. Check out more awesome videos at
Heceta Head - Oregon Coastline - Devils Elbow -
Heceta Head (pronounced Ha–SEE–Ta) is a headland that stands 1,000 feet (300 m) above the Pacific Ocean in Lane County, Oregon, United States. The Heceta Head Light is located on its south side. Heceta Head is named after the Basque explorer under Spanish Commission, Bruno de Heceta, who explored the Pacific Northwest in the 1770s.[1] The headland marks the end of a lower-lying stretch of the coastline to the south dominated by sand dunes; the coastline to the north is more varied.[2] Devils Elbow is the bay south of the headland at the mouth of Cape Creek, and with the headland formed Devils Elbow State Park, which is now part of Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint.

Sand Surfing / Boarding in Oregon - Kape Kiwanda State Park
Cape Kiwanda State Park, couple random dudes boarding down the sand around cliffs, but it seems they had a path to avoid the cliffs. I didn't want to walk down from my side to film more as it was a straight drop off.

Explore Oregon Recreation: Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area
From exploring tide pools teeming with life to witnessing Oregon's tallest lighthouse, there is something for every visitor at Yaquina Head.
Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area extends out from the Oregon coast, one mile into the Pacific Ocean. Standing 93 feet tall at the westernmost point of the basalt headland, the lighthouse has been a bright beacon of the night, guiding ships and their supplies along the west coast since the light was first lit on August 20, 1873.
The offshore islands are a year-round refuge for harbor seals and a spring-summer home for thousands of nesting seabirds. Gray whales can be spotted during their annual migrations to Mexico (late fall-early winter) and Alaska (late winter-early spring). During the summer months some gray whales take the opportunity to feed in the shallow waters around the headland.
Cobble Beach is compiled of millions of round basalt rocks that produce an applause-like sound as the waves roll in. When the tide is low a vibrant ocean floor is revealed—pools of colorful animals including orange sea stars, purple sea urchins, and giant green anemones. Rangers are at hand to answer questions and point out all of the amazing plants and animals that call the tide pools home.
Visit the Interpretive Center and discover 140 years of lighthouse history and thousands of years of natural and cultural history. Friends of Yaquina Lighthouses, a non-profit organization, offers site-related books, maps, and postcards in their interpretive store.
Whether you want to see raging winter storms batter the Oregon coast, learn about the role lighthouses played in the westward expansion of the United States, or watch peregrine falcons at play, visit Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area and experience something wild.

HIDDEN Sea Caves, a Beach WATERFALL and The Goonies Rock - Oregon Coastal ADVENTURE
We had a great coastal adventure in Oregon at Ecola State Park. It was full of sea caves, hidden beaches and even a waterfall right on the beach! We hiked through a beautiful, mossy, tree lined path that led to the hidden Crescent beach and explored the vast rock formations. We found amazing hidden sea caves and had the place practically all to ourselves. Then we walked South to Cannon Beach and saw Haystack Rock (or The Goonies Rock) and found even more exciting sea caves. It was a great day of exploration on the Oregon Coast.
