In this video, we visited Dibru Saikhowa, National Park. It is located in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts and was designated a Biosphere Reserve in July 1997.

Dibru Saikhowa National Park | The Jungle retreat | Tinsukia | Assam
Dibru Saikhowa National Park is situated in Tinsukia district of Assam.The park is bounded by the Brahmaputra and Lohit rivers in the north and Dibru river in the south. It mainly consists of moist mixed semi-evergreen forests, moist mixed deciduous forests, canebrakes and grasslands. It is the largest salix swamp forest in north-eastern India, with a tropical monsoon climate with a hot and wet summer and cool and usually dry winter. Annual rainfall ranges from 2300 mm to 3800 mm. It is a haven for many endangered species and rich in fish diversity.

Dibru-Saikhowa National Park is a beautiful place, located in the Tinsukia district of the state of Assam. Total area of the park is about 340 Km. Dibru-Saikhowa wildlife Sanctuary was declared as a National park in the year of 1999. The Park is divided into nine distinct zones one of which is a wetland while dense forests occupy the remaining portions. The sparkling sylvan wetlands paint a picture of rare beauty as the gleam like a mirage of quicksilver under the playful saffron sunbeams…………….
Dibru-Saikhowa is a safe haven for many extremely rare and endangered species of wild life including over 300 avifauna both endangered and migratory, as well as various species of shrubs, herbs and rare medicinal plants. Some rare and endangered animals of this park are Hoolock gibbon, capped langur, slow loris, water buffalo, tiger, elephant, gangetic river dolphin etc.

दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा नदी द्वीप राष्ट्रीय उद्यान (ডিব্ৰু ছৈখোৱা ৰাষ্ট্ৰীয় উদ্যান)Dibru-Saikhowa - a national wildlife park in Tinsukia, Assam, India. Sharing a video of the World’s largest river island national park also known as one of the largest salix swamp forest. Attraction are the World largest river confluence, World biggest species of tree, India’s best bird watching destination, wild horse, Flora & Fauna, Wild Orchid, Forest village, dolphin, White-winged wood duck, water buffalo & much much more. In 1999, the 340 km2 of Sanctuary area was declared a National Park & the forest villages were allotted land in other areas of Assam by Government of Assam but till date 3 nos. of forest villages still exist & refused to leave their homes. The area was declared as Dibru Reserved Forest in 1890. In 1986 declared as a Wildlife Sanctuary. Dibru-Saikhowa is a safe haven for many endangered species. Due to the auto stocking by the Brahmaputra and Dibru river, it is rich in fish diversity.
