100% Free Things to do in Tokyo: 10 Hidden Secrets
Are you are traveling on a budget to Japan? You are in luck! These are my 10 FREE Things to do in Tokyo from hidden gems to cool activities and above all everything is FREE, the only thing required is a subway pass including Hinokicho Park, National Diet of Japan, Hie Shrine, Magnet Shibuya Observatory, Nakameguro Awaodori, Nakano Broadway, Suginami Anime Museum, Parasite Museum. Subscribe to my channel ► for weekly videos!
Download my FREE map of FREE attractions in Tokyo:
30% OFF Pocket Wifi station, always stay connected for just $6 USD in Japan
I've been to Tokyo 6 times and always had a bucket list of items I never ended up visiting due to time constrains so I decide to make a special list for these special attractions which are FREE to visit in Tokyo.
Start in the heart of Roppongi at Hinokicho park, a small cozy park hidden behind the skyscrapers of Tokyo for a little walk than take the subway one stop over to the National Diet of Japan, one of the most impressive buildings of Tokyo built in 1920 and took 16 years to complete.
The National Diet houses the parliament of Japan including the house of representatives and the house of councilors. A few blocks from the National Diet you'll find the Hie Shrine which has an amazing red torii gate tunnel in the back which is often overlooked by tourists. This place is especially perfect if you are not able to make it to Kyoto but still want to make a selfie in a red torii gate tunnel.
A cozy place for drinks is Magnet in Shibuya, if you do not have a budget for beers you can still visit the FREE observatory deck on the rooftop for an epic view of the Shibuya crossing, the busiest intersection of the world.
After spending time in Shibuya I recommend checking out the VR zone in Shinjuku for the most epic VR arcade games ranging from Evangelion VR to Mario Kart VR to Dragonball Z VR. Another great FREE place for epic selfies is the mirror entrance of the Tokyu Plaza on the Omotesando street in Harajuku.
Due to the massive influx of tourists into Tokyo prices have been skyrocketing for attractions thus I believe having a FREE Things to do Travel Guide for Tokyo is very important for the budget travelers among us.
Also keep in mind that you can honor your budget by not eating at fancy restaurants but buying your lunches and dinners at convenience stores 711, Lawson and FamilyMart which can be found on almost every street corner and are open 24/7. Additionally, for other budget items visit Donki Hote, considered the Walmart of Japan for insanely cheap household items.

We've all heard about Shibuya, Shinjuku, and the likes of Harajuku. But what about the cool spots to visit in Tokyo that you're not going to find in any tourist book or main-stream video? Let's explore somewhere off the beaten path in this video and expose you to something that mostly only the natives of Tokyo even know about. Koenji is one such place, an awesome sleepy chill neighborhood not far from the downtown center brimming with awesome locations to to check out.

A 12-day trip to Japan still seems too short for me since Japan has so much to offer. Our itinerary includes 4 cities Nikko, Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo. We had a lot of “wow” and “surprised” moments with experiences which we think they will be helpful to you guys.
Tour Around Japan: Nerima by Man in Japan
I take you on a very brief tour of my corner of Tokyo, the place I'm currently calling home. I'll tell you some basic facts about Nerima, then we'll stop over in Ooizumi and see where anime actually comes from, then pop over to Hikarigaoka to see one of my favourite spots, and I'll top it off with a song. Oh yes. I am Man(in Japan)dolin.

Koenji, Tokyo, Japan , 高円寺 - Canon 80D - Virtual Trip
Kôenji is one of the districts of the Suginami district in western Tokyo, Japan. Suginami and Setagaya further south are some of the most pleasant districts in the capital. There are actually many places of the same kind, whatever the direction, as soon as you leave the belt of the Yamanote Line. This marks a bit the limit of ultra modern Tokyo with its vertical urbanism so characteristic. Outside, municipalities and old villages have urbanized more slowly, the pace of life is slower and they have been in spite of themselves included in the unlimited expansion of the city.
Koenji is about 5km north-west of Shinjuku, less than 10 minutes away by train. We stay in Tokyo but the atmosphere is rather that of a nearby suburb. This is a hook to do if you want to discover all the charm of Tokyo and its architecture: behind the skyscrapers of Shinjuku, place to small shopping streets after the war!

Enjoy a little piece of Okinawa at Okinawan Parlor, Gaienmae | Tokyo Nightlife
Okinawan Parlor is quite small and yet they manage to not make you feel too claustrophobic, probably because their decor is mostly white and blue which creates a more spacious illusion than black or other dark colours would.
Because of that, there is an atmosphere that, despite Okinawan Parlor’s small size, allows their customers to relax and breath easily in.
As its name would imply, they serve Okinawan cuisine here. Their dishes are absolutely delicious and quite different from Tokyo food, so if you’ve begun to tire of the same old izakayas and restaurants here and are looking for something different, Okinawan Parlor will provide that for you.
