Reaching Diveagar is quite easy, take a right turn after Mangaon on the Mumbai-Goa highway, from here it’s a one-hour drive to Diveagar. Diveagar is just like any other village on the Konkan coast but it gained overnight fame upon the discovery of Ganesh idol made of pure gold in one of the Supari Baghs (Garden) in the village.

The beach is a real revelation, a six km long stretch with white sand & clear water. At one end of the beach is a fishing settlement while the other end offers a sanctuary to the migratory seagulls feasting in the creek waters. The beach has a lot of Suru trees, which are common to coastal Maharashtra. The access to the beach has a dense cover of Belu trees, which are very uncommon sight on this coast.

Diveagar has numerous households offering accommodation for as low as Rs.300-400 per day. The local cuisines are worth exploring & better enjoy eating it as no other options are available. Diveagar is an ideal weekend getaway away from City crowd. Don’t expect any luxury hotels & typical city eating joints here but be prepared to be surprised by the simplicity & calmness offered by this place.

The beach comprises of a number of Casuarina trees, which are a common site to the coastal region of the state of Maharashtra. The beach has a dense cover of belu trees as well, which are uncommon to the area. Diveagar is a popular seaside destination from the cities in Shrivardhan and Harihareshwar.
Sand-bubble crabs and dolphins can be found on the beach and Harihareshwar in the vicinity. Some seaturtles lay their eggs on the beach as well.
The beach, facing the Arabian Sea, is about 4 kms long and is still under developement. At the northern end of the beach where a small stream enters the ocean there is the fishing settlement, Velas Agar, and some paddy farming, while at the southern end there is a sanctuary for migratory seabirds. There also is a small fishing village, where vendors sell fresh fish named Bharadkhol. The beach is accessible from the Mumbai-Goa highway via Kolad or Karnala.

The day 14 of all India 29 states + Bhutan + Myanmar Ride.
The ride along the coastal line was simply amazing with some beautiful scenes.The day 14 started from Mumbai ( Bhaucha Dhakka ) .We loaded our bikes onto a ferry to reach Revas.2nd ferry we took from Rajapuri to reach Dighi and ended the day at Diveagar to witness the mesmerizing sunset at Diveagar beach.

This is what you call a ride of a lifetime.On 28th march 2016 I started something which I will cherish for years to come.It took 112 days to complete this feat, Travelled almost all part of the country including Bhutan and a one village of Mayanmar ( Tamu ).Rode my motorcycle through Forests, Villages, Cities, Valleys, Rivers, Streams, Nallas, Slush, Rain, Snowfall and many more but everything was the part of my life on road.Met with some extraordinary peoples, Made lot's n lot's of friends all over the country.I don't have enough words to thank you all who joined me on this ride virtually or rode with me to show how beautiful our country India is.India is a vast country with many unbelievable hidden places to explore and 4 months are really very less to cover everything.I tried to explore as much as I can in those 112 days but had to skip many places due to lack of time.I hope to cover all the places in near future whichever left in this long journey.

Diveagar (Dive Agar) is a village located in Shrivardhan Taluka, Raigad district in the Indian state of Maharashtra,[2] approximately 170 kilometers south of Mumbai.The area is peaceful, clean and sparsely populated. The region includes a fishing settlement, a beach, a temple, local businesses engaged in coconut and beetle nut tree farming, and some tourism businesses such as restaurants, cottage rentals and hotels, and six villages (from north to south): Velās, Musalmāndi, Agar Panchaitan, Diveagar, Borlai Panchaitan, and Kārle. The beach, facing the Arabian Sea, is approximately four kilometers long[3] and undeveloped. At the north end of the beach where a small stream enters the ocean there is the fishing settlement, Velas Agar, and some paddy farming, while at the south end there is a sanctuary for migratory seabirds. Nearby, there is a small fishing village, where vendors sell fresh fish, which goes by name of Bharadkhol.[4] The beach is accessible from the Mumbai-Goa highway via Kolad or Karnala.

Evidences showing more than five hundred year old settlements are found in this region. Since thousand years this village was attacked by the Arabs, the Portuguese and the Mughals. Because of these attacks the whole village was destroyed 3 to 4 times.

The theft of the golden ganesh murti[edit]
The golden (suvarna) ganesh murti (idol) of Diveagar Ganpati temple was allegedly stolen by thieves on 25 March 2012. The murthi was later allegedly melted. The golden idol weighed 1.5 kg. The thieves before taking away the golden idol killed the two watchmen who guarded the temple.

The idol has since then been replaced by one made with Silver.

Diveagar (Dive Agar) is a village located in Shrivardhan Taluka, Raigad district in the Indian state of Maharashtra,[2] approximately 170 kilometers south of Mumbai.The area is peaceful, clean and sparsely populated. The region includes a fishing settlement, a beach, a temple, local businesses engaged in coconut and beetle nut tree farming, and some tourism businesses such as restaurants, cottage rentals and hotels, and six villages (from north to south): Velas, Musalmāndi, Agar Panchaitan, Diveagar, Borli Panchatan, and Karle. The beach, facing the Arabian Sea, is approximately four kilometers long[3] and undeveloped. At the north end of the beach where a small stream enters the ocean there is the fishing settlement, Velas Agar, and some paddy farming, while at the south end there is a sanctuary for migratory seabirds. Nearby, there is a small fishing village, where vendors sell fresh fish, which goes by name of Bharadkhol.[4] The beach is accessible from the Mumbai-Goa highway via Kolad or Karnala.
