Whales and waves at Ke Iki Beach, North Shore, Oahu
One of the thrills of visiting the North Shore of Oahu in winter is seeing the huge waves, and following the journeys of the Humpback Whales. This video captures a bit of both, I hope.

Kaena Point | Hiking in Hawaii
This trail is located on the westside of the island all the way at the end of Farrington Hwy. We picked the perfect day to do this trail! It was cloudy and not too hot, and we also went late in the day for sunset. During the winter you can watch the whales as they swim by, and we sure did get a show! The trail goes through a bird sanctuary for nesting albatross. We got to see one up close since it was nesting right by the rope. When we reached the tip of the island, there were a bunch of tide pools. To our surprise, there were two Hawaiian monk seals playing in the pools. It was so neat to watch them. We stayed for the sunset, which was incredibly beautiful, and then made our way back to our car in the dark. This trail is pretty easy to walk, although it is a long walk, about 5 miles roundtrip. Usually it is pretty hot and there is no shade along the trail, so make sure to bring PLENTY of water and sunscreen! Some snacks would be good too! Overall I really enjoyed this adventure and want to come back to play in the tide pools!
Thank you for watching! If you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more adventures!
