Aberdeen Area - Horns
Well here are a few clips from 07/09 and 13/09 from around the Aberdeen area.
07/09:
66105 heads north past Union Terrace Gardens with 9 Autoballasters on 6K31 Millerhill - Elgin.
Then whilst walking to a different location I missed 66101 on 6K32 Millherhill - Elgin Autoballasters.
4Z85 Aberdeen Craiginches - Grangemouth heads south past Doonies Farm - A new place for me, running with Top N Tailed DRS 66s, 425 still running with the tail lamp flashing away on the front and 415 on the rear without any tailights on at all, this happened because the train ran via Tay & Forth Bridges due to engineering work on it's usual route.
13/09:
66423 nears it's destination as it passes north of Doonies Farm with a 2 tone.
66423 accelerates south with 4N83 Aberdeen Craiginches - Grangemouth past the same place as above with another 2 tone.
37401 + 417 coast north as it nears it's destination.
Also a few HSTs and a 170 chucked in too.
Enjoy...
Aberdeen 12-06-09
To start us off on this nice sunny afternoon, we have a typical friendly Aberdeen man driving 66013 shunting tanks at Waterloo OMYA before then heading away with 6D84 consisting of 12 loaded ICAs to Mossend. The same train is then seen in Union Terrace Gardens slowing down for Aberdeen station.
Now I head out to Doonies Farm, south of Aberdeen. Our first clip on this stunning evening is yet again, for the fourth time today, 66013 and them 12 tanks are seen passing after a 90 minute layover in Aberdeen station with another friendly driver. A couple of 170s are then seen heading north into Aberdeen station followed by a late running 1S19 14:00 Kings Cross - Aberdeen HST. 67009 heads south with 1B16 21:40 Aberdeen - Edinburgh Sleeper which is no longer driven by Aberdeen men - It went over to Millerhill guys unfortunatly :-(. Shortly after this a late running Voyager heads north into Aberdeen with a very friendly driver giving a good blast on the horn and a wave at 21:45! Then after a quick turn around in the station, the same Vomit and friendly driver head south 29 late past Nigg Bay with a brilliant blast on the horn at 22:01!!!

Aberdeen & Montrose 27-01-09
*Watch in high quality*
Today, was a day with good and bad luck! The bad luck started when after waiting an hour after it's booked time to pass Union Terrace Gardens with 0A67 Aberdeen Clayhills - Aberdeen Waterloo, I walked over to Clayhills to find it still coupled to the Sleeper coaches so that along with 6A67 Aberdeen Waterloo - Laurencekirk & 0A68 Laurencekirk - Aberdeen Clayhills were non-runners so that is a good couple of minutes worth of filming a 67 and Freight workings gone but anyway...
A 170 heads north past Union Terrace Gardens with a service to Dyce, then a walk over to the other side of Aberdeen...
A HST heads north past Doonies Farm with 1S03 07:10 Leeds - Aberdeen, a 170 heads south past the same place then a walk to the bridge you can see in the previous HST shot...
Another 170 heads north for Aberdeen and then a walk to Nigg Bay...
Where that 170 driver in the last clip returns heading for Glasgow Queen St, the same HST then works 1E24 14:48 Aberdeen - Kings Cross then I walk back to Doonies Farm...
Where surprisingly another 170 is spotted heading north towards Aberdeen and that's then being followed by 66416 working 4A13 Grangemouth - Aberdeen.
Now I get on the 1B75 18:16 Aberdeen - Edinburgh Waverley HST as far as Montrose, but it wasn't so simple... More bad luck strikes when after moving about 18 inches, we come to a halt because of a technical fault with the train, but this was rectified and we then depart 12' late, but still slowly, because 4N83 Aberdeen - Grangemouth was let out in front of us! (I was hoping to film this at Montrose) But... Good luck strikes for a change! It was put into the loop at Laurencekirk to let us, and the unit behind pass it where it then would follow its booked path south so that meant I would be able to film it at Montrose.
So, now arrived at Montrose, 4N83 heads south at speed in it's booked path and then 9 minutes later, 66720 heads north working 6S60 07:08 Doncaster Decoy - Aberdeen Waterloo Loaded Mud-Oil Tanks running just 36' late (after running 142 minutes late at Newcastle!) - So it made a fair amount of time up!
Hopefully you enjoy the video and I haven't typed this out for no reason... :-)

The Aberdonian
I don’t normally train watch, not really my thing, but this was pure chance. Stopped at Doonies farm to play ingress and eat my chippy, noticed a load of folk on the bridge the train goes under, so decided to get a quick video from the roadside.
Aberdeen 03-03-10
After waking up at 05:15, drive into Aberdeen arriving at 06:45, we see 67011 start the day off passing at Cove with 1A25 04:40 Edinburgh - Aberdeen Sleeper - Running with 8 coaches rather than 6 due to the WHL remaining shut. We then see 221136 work into Aberdeen with a service from Dundee. The 07:52 East Coast HST service then heads south shortly followed by the Voyager working the 08:20 to Penzance!
Moving to Dyce, 66102 heads north with the diverted 4H47 Mossend - Inverness Stobart train, this would normally run via HML but at present runs via Aberdeen due to DB banning FKA wagons from the HML due to braking issues in the cold!
After a couple of hours, 66725 working 0Z14 from Mossend heads north through Union Terrace Gardens then seen again approaching Waterloo, before finally propelling forward and coupling up to the 14 TUAs - This loco would then work 6E59 to Doncaster early the next morning.
At Doonies farm, 66425 coasts past with 4A13 from Grangemouth then an hour later, 66621 powers south with 29 empty PCAs working 6B32 to Oxwellmains. Note: Loco with no Day/Night Headlight. To finish off with, Another HST then coasts past with the 10:30 from Kings Cross with a very friendly driver up front that seemed to recognise me! :-)
