Is the most famous Eastern Orthodox church of Cluj-Napoca.The cathedral was built between 1923 and 1933, after the Union of Transylvania with the Romanian Old Kingdom.Built in a Romanian Brâncovenesc style, a synthesis of Renaissance and Byzantine architecture, it lies on the Avram Iancu Square, together with the Cluj-Napoca National Theatre and the Avram Iancu Statue.
The Cathedral is the seat of the Metropolitan of Cluj, Alba, Crişana and Maramureş. It is dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos.

Sub păstorirea ÎPS Bartolomeu Anania,Mitropolit al Clujului, Crişanei, Albei şi Maramureşului, Catedrala a devenit Catedrală Mitropolitană (2006).
În anul 2001, prin strădania ÎPS Bartolomeu, s-a decis împodobirea catedralei cu o monumentală iconografie în tehnica mozaicului, adus din Italia, de la Murano.

”BUCOVINA” Male Choir - Christmas Carols Concert (Campulung Moldovenesc, Romania)
Concert de colinde susținut de Corala bărbătească ”Bucovina” în ziua de 16 decembrie 2018 în catedrala ”Adormirea Maicii Domnului” din Câmpulung Moldovenesc. Domnul profesor Emil Forfotă, fondatorul coralei (înființat încă din anul 1978 !), este cel care a dirijat concertul. Spectacolul oferit de Corul bărbătesc Bucovina a fost urmat un scurt recital cu două colinde transilvănene interpretate de Ana Hoza, elevă caporal la Colegiul Național Militar ”Ștefan cel Mare” din Câmpulung Moldovenesc și s-a terminat cu concertul Coralei mixte ”Academica - Bucovina” înființată și condusă tot de Dl.prof. Emil Forfotă. Întreaga reprezentație a fost apreciată și îndelung aplaudată de spectatorii care au umplut catedrala. Repertoriul coralei ”Bucovina” conține piese de muzică clasică, folclorică, patriotică şi religioasă (inclusiv aceste colinde sau slujbe duminicale și de sărbători). Formația a evoluat pe mari scene din ţară şi străinătate (Italia, Elveţia, Germania, Cehia, republica Moldova, Croația etc.), obținând numeroase premii și distincții. Originar din Prundu Bârgăului, absolvent al Conservatorului din Cluj Napoca, Emil Forfotă este din 1971 profesor de muzică la Câmpulung Moldovenesc. În 1978 a înfiinţat Corala ”Bucovina”, cel mai cunoscut exponent muzical al municipiului Câmpulung Moldovenesc.
Christmas carols concert presented by ”Bucovina” male choir on 16 December 2018 in the cathedral Dormition of the Mother of God in Câmpulung Moldovenesc (Bucovina, Romania). Professor Emil Forfota, the founder of the choir (founded in 1978!), is the conductor of the concert. The performance offered by the ”Bucovina” Choir was followed by a short recital with two Transylvanian carols performed by Ana Hoza, a corporal student at the Stefan cel Mare Military College in Câmpulung Moldovenesc, and finished with the concert of the Mixed choir Academica - Bucovina founded also by Prof. Emil Forfota. The entire performance was appreciated and long applauded by the spectators who filled the cathedral. The repertoire of the Bucovina choir contains pieces of classical, folkloric, patriotic and religious music. The ensemble has performed on big scenes from the country and abroad (Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Republic of Moldova, Croatia, etc.), receiving numerous awards and awards. Originally from Prundu Bârgăului, graduate of the Conservatory from Cluj Napoca, Emil Forfotă is a music professor at Campulung Moldovenesc since 1971. In 1978 he founded the Bucovina Choir, the most famous musical exponent of Câmpulung Moldovenesc.

Beautiful Places in Transylvania
Visiting this rather uncommon place was a quite spontaneous decision but very enjoyable nonetheless, even though it was stressfull at times. The city where we stayed is called Cluj Napoca and is the second most populous city in Romania. When we arrived at the airport we were shocked by the small size and modesty of it, compared to the one in Cologne. Of course we knew that Romania isn't a very rich country but seeing the unfinished houses on the side of the road, the stray dogs laying in the sun and the destroyed roads left us feeling rather sad and kind of snobby. This is also the reason why I didn't film these aspects of the country, pointing at people with a Camera worth 600 Euro didn't seem like the nicest thing to do.
As soon as we arrived Cluj, we were greeted by an awesome architecture, primarily Renaissance, Baroque and Gothic.
I have to admit I love old buildings and old towns, so Cluj was definitely the right place to be, as there were not many modern buildings. Unfortunately they were renewing the side walks of the main streets, so we had to walk on the streets alot and let me tell you one thing: the car drivers in Cluj do not give a single shit about anything.
If you like to eat you should DEFINITELY visit this place. The food is so incredibly cheap it's ridiculous and there are
a lot of great restaurants and cafes. (We were a group of 4 and everybody had a giant lemonade, a main dish and a dessert
and we only paid 26 euros...together.)

The Soundscape is incredible as well.)

There was still so much left that we wanted to visit, but our stay wasn't long enough. I'm pretty sure that I will visit
Romania again, next time with a rental car to see some more of the beautiful landscape.
If you like to visit historical places and are not afraid to give up some luxury for the time of your stay, you will be very happy in Cluj. Being adventurous is also a plus, since getting from A to B in this country is quite a challenge.
