More information about the video content bellow:
1. Kansas was once home to countless Native American tribes, who settled the area long before European explorer Francisco Vázquez de Coronado arrived in 1541. The state was named after the Kansas River, which derives its own name from the region's Kansa tribe.
2. During the settlement of Kansas, the U.S. government allowed residents to vote whether Kansas would be a free state or a slave state. The political climate turned tumultuous, and a series of bloody clashes between pro and anti-slavery groups prompted New York Tribune editor Horace Greeley to invent the term “Bleeding Kansas.” The conflict presaged the Civil War, setting the stage for the violent years ahead.
Brown vs. Board of Education, the landmark Supreme Court case that ruled against segregation in public schools, started as a class-action lawsuit in Topeka after African-American children were denied admission to their local public schools.
3. In the town of Liberal, Kan., you can see a house that is an exact replica of Dorothy’s house in the movie “The Wizard of Oz.”
4. The world famous fast-food chain of Pizza Hut restaurants opened its first store in Wichita. The first national hamburger chain started in Kansas when Walter Anderson opened the first White Castle hamburger restaurant in Wichita in 1921.
5. Kansas ranks second nationally in average number of tornadoes per year (60) and third in tornadoes per 1,000 square miles(44).
6. The largest and most-well known city in Kansas is Wichita, but the state’s actual capital is Topeka.
7. Amelia Earhart, first woman granted a pilot's license by the National Aeronautics Associate and first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean was from Atchison, Kan.

Kansas
Kansas /ˈkænzəs/ KAN-zəs is a U.S. state located in the Midwestern United States. It is named after the Kansa Native American tribe which inhabited the area. The tribe's name (natively kką:ze) is often said to mean people of the wind or people of the south wind, although this was probably not the term's original meaning. Residents of Kansas are called Kansans. For thousands of years, what is now Kansas was home to numerous and diverse Native American tribes. Tribes in the Eastern part of the state generally lived in villages along the river valleys. Tribes in the Western part of the state were semi-nomadic and hunted large herds of bison. Kansas was first settled by European Americans in the 1830s, but the pace of settlement accelerated in the 1850s, in the midst of political wars over the slavery issue.
When it was officially opened to settlement by the U.S. government in 1854, abolitionist Free-Staters from New England and pro-slavery settlers from neighboring Missouri rushed to the territory to determine whether Kansas would become a free state or a slave state. Thus, the area was a hotbed of violence and chaos in its early days as these forces collided, and was known as Bleeding Kansas. The abolitionists eventually prevailed and on January 29, 1861, Kansas entered the Union as a free state. After the Civil War, the population of Kansas grew rapidly when waves of immigrants turned the prairie into farmland. Today, Kansas is one of the most productive agricultural states, producing high yields of wheat, sorghum, and sunflowers. Kansas is the 15th most extensive and the 34th most populous of the 50 United States.

Dorothy Ain't in Kansas
Dorothy is the victim of a drive-by. She ain't in Kansas no mo.
ATS: Coast to Coast: Walcott.IA to Liberal.KS
My secondary profile EL CEJ is driving in a driver-owned basic truck and trailer. The driver is going west before heading south down the more worked on areas in Coast to Coast.
In this trip, he finds he can deliver a load of dry fruits from Walcott Iowa to Liberal Kansas.
There is some accelerated time during the trip.
Once we are loaded, we decide to travel along the roads going through what I dub as the lost forest of Indiana. It's twisty, and as it turns out slow to drive along as it is a 30 speed limit most of the way.
We exit the forest close to Des Moines, and cross underneath Interstate 80 and drive into the city (Yes, IRL route 80 skirts the northern edge of the city, not the southern edge). We do strike a route diversion blocking us from driving towards Interstate 35, however, the diversion is about as small as you would reasonably expect to have - just a few extra city blocks.
So we exit Des Moines going south on route 35. It's not a huge drive to the Missouri border, and when we reach there, we keep going south. Eventually we decide to drive into Kansas City (Missouri; the Kansas state part of the city is not on the C2C map).
We leave Kansas City on Interstate 70, and almost immediately cross into Kansas state as the evening gets darker and rain plus a short storm roll across the plains. The driver is starting to tire, so we turn off towards Salina. We first refuel and rest at a convenient truck stop and then in the morning head through the town.
We leave Selina on Interstate 135, but turn off at McPherson (just an intersection on the C2C map though IRL it is a good sized town). We go west along route 56 to Great Bend, and then southwest along routes 56 and 50 to Dodge City. Watch out for the 'rough' road along here.
The final stretch goes south out of Dodge City on the 283, and then west and south west to the town of Liberal. We decide in the end not to park properly at the Walgreens store. We get $30653 and 1530 XP for the trip.
