Chris Ofili: Weaving Magic at The National Gallery
Subscribe: Collaborating with a team of weavers from the Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh, Turner Prize winner Chris Ofili has designed a tapestry for the Clothworkers Hall which is being shown at the National Gallery within a room lined with murals. Inspired by the Caribbean Island of Trinidad and its folklore, the artist blends together multiple and eclectic references to the Garden of Eden, Old Master painting, cocktails and the Italian football star Mario Balotelli in a vibrant collaboration between artist and weavers. Josh and Grace visit the show and speak to Dr Gabriele Finaldi, the Director of the National Gallery, who explains how Ofili's contemporary art responds to and complements the permanent collection of European painting.

Lisbee Stainton at the globe at hay
After supporting legend Joan Armatrading across the UK & Europe, and Mercury Music Prize nominated Seth Lakeman, we welcome Lisbee Stainton; a true folk talent who often opts for starker, more contemplative detail in her written material. An artist well regarded for playing an eight-string guitar and also for being the first unsigned singer-songwriter to play the O2 (2007). Also with Tom Robinson of 6Music continuing to Champion her work, this will be a performance not to be missed in the intimate atmosphere of the Globe Hall. Bound for Glory...an exquisite slice of traditional songwriting - The Times Light, acoustic, melodic, earnestly upful pop ...She's Talented - The Independent on Sunday
