Dublin - With the DART from Pearse Station to Malahide
A casual Sunay ride from Dublin Pearse Station to Malahide. It was a rainy day and the whole operation was still a bit disturbed from safety measures (the Pope was in the city back then). But non the less it was a fun ride ;)

Dart New Railway for Dublin 1986
This video is about the DART railway which was started in 1984

Dublin Ireland LUAS Tram/Light Rail
This film shows the fairly new tram network of Dublin, Ireland, which opened in 2004. The tram is promoted under the name of LUAS which stands for “speed” in Irish. As of today it consists of two lines, red and green, which have a combined length of 36.5km. Currently these two lines are disconnected, however, there are already plans on the way to connect them via a cross city section.
I found the tracks are very nicely integrated into the very beautiful city of Dublin. Also the French Citadis 301 and 402 vehicles looked nice, the service is frequent, and it seems to be well adopted and heavily used by the population. However, I found that the ride on these vehicles felt a bit rough.
The film begins at the northern terminus of the green line, which is at St. Stephen's Green, a park in the heart of the city. We go a bit southward until we reach Harcourt stations, before we turn our attention to the red line. We see some scenes going from the busy shopping district at O'Connell Street toward Connolly Station, one of two major railway stations in Dublin. From here on, the red line serves the docklands, which host the financial district of Dublin. The remainder of the film then shows the stretch from Heuston Station (the other railway station) to Four Courts with some beautiful shots around the national museum of Ireland.
Enjoy!

Dublin city by train scenery | Dublin public transport | Travel republic of Ireland
Connolly station (Irish: Stáisiún Uí Chonghaile) or Dublin Connolly is the busiest railway station in Dublin and Ireland, and is a focal point in the Irish route network. On the North side of the River Liffey, it provides InterCity, Enterprise and commuter services to the north, north-west, south-east and south-west. The North-South Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART) and Luas light rail services also pass through the station. The station offices are the headquarters of Irish Rail, Iarnród Éireann. Opened in 1844 as Dublin Station, the ornate facade has a distinctive Italianate tower at its centre.
Connolly station opened on 29 November 1844[2] by the Dublin and Drogheda Railway Company as Dublin Station, but was renamed Amiens Street Station ten years later after the street on which it is located. Originally the station served only a single mainline to Drogheda, and in 1853 through services to Belfast commenced. In 1891, the City of Dublin Junction Railway connected the station with Westland Row Station (now Pearse Station) on the city's South side. The City of Dublin Junction had a separate station known as Amiens Street Junction consisting of the present platforms 5, 6, and 7 (currently used by DART, Commuter and Rosslare services) with a separate street entrance. After the amalgamation of the GNR (I) at the end of the 1950s, this station became part of Amiens Street and the separate entrance fell into disuse. The City of Dublin Junction Railway allowed services to run from Amiens Street through to Westland Row to Rosslare and the South East. Services to Sligo were transferred to Westland Row (Pearse Station) running non-stop through the station in 1937, with the closure of Broadstone Station by CIÉ (see also MGWR). Services to Galway and Mayo also terminated at Westland Row, operating through Connolly Station after 1937, running via Mullingar and Athlone. This was discontinued in the 1970s in favour of running services from Heuston Station. Sunday trains to Cork, Limerick and Waterford during the 1960s operated from Connolly platforms 5, 6 and 7 through the Phoenix Park Tunnel, so as to avoid the cost of opening Heuston for the limited Sunday traffic demand at that time.
In 1966, the 50th anniversary of the Easter Rising, the station's name was changed to Connolly Station after Irish revolutionary and socialist James Connolly. At the same time, other main stations were renamed after patriots executed for their roles in the Rising.
At the commencement of DART services in 1984, the City of Dublin Junction Railway entrance was refurbished and reopened for commuters.
During the late 1990s, Connolly Station was completely renovated and partially rebuilt. An entirely new station hall was built, the roof over platforms 1 to 4 was replaced, and a new bar/café and shops were installed. The former DART/Suburban station entrance (City of Dublin Junction Railway entrance) and the secondary station hall built with the DART (further north on Amiens Street) were again closed, but a new entrance on the International Financial Services Centre side was opened. The Luas Red Line began serving the station in 2004. As part of the preparation for this, the ramp that had been a bus terminus was demolished and replaced with a two-platform tram station connected to the main concourse by escalators and lift.
Railfanning in Dublin - DART, LUAS & More!!!
Hello Everyone!!!
In this video I take a short trip to Dublin Ireland and catch some of the local Railways there.
That's Your Busy Face? - Episode 3, 26th March - Bray to Howth
We head to Dublin on the DART! The Dublin Area Rapid Transit, and take a ride that local Dan informs us is the earliest commuter railway anywhere in the world. Oh, and Vicki counts the length of a station in her own special way ...
Vicki and Geoff are travelling to 198 railway stations in Ireland and Northern Ireland!
All The Stations - Ireland sees the duo exploring the length and breadth of the Iarnród Éireann and Northern Ireland Railways networks. Along the way, they'll meet the communities connected to the lines, interview local people and those who work on the railways, to find out about their experiences of travelling by train.
To The Book! The Railway Adventures is published by September Publishing and was released in October 2018. It accompanies the 2017 'All The Stations' adventure, when we travelled to all 2,563 railway stations in Great Britain. Available here:
