Beer City USA with kids - Asheville, NC
We decided to slow it down a little bit in Asheville and try to pretend we lived there. It was nice to relax and reset. Our days mostly revolved around food, because Asheville has an AMAZING restaurant scene. Every single meal we had was so, so good.
All the downtown buildings in Asheville are Art Deco style, which is my favorite architectural style. It's a beautiful little city.
I tried on mom jeans in multiple stores, settling on the ones at Target, where they have triple shopping carts. Perfect for us!
Asheville is hip and artsy, and it has more breweries per capita than any other city in America. That's why they call it beer city!
We tried to go to the pinball museum, but it was closed, so instead we wandered through the community gardens. We drove up the Blue Ridge Parkway and went on a hike at the tree identification trail. Then we went to the North Carolina Arboretum.
We went to the New Belgium Brewing Company, east coast headquarters. What a beautiful and relaxing place to spend an afternoon! Totally family friendly . . . and they were playing 90's hip hop, so I was in heaven.
Last but not least we discovered Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company, which the girls loved because it was full of old arcade games.
Asheville is a gem. I kinda want to stay!

Family Friendly Asheville, NC | Things to do in North Carolina | Hiking in Asheville | The Biltmore
Asheville is one our favorite stops! The area not only boasts so much beauty, but a wide variety of family friendly activities! Janelle enjoyed a kid free day exploring The Biltmore estate and gardens. We hiked through the Smokies, explored Cataloochee and Maggie Valley, and enjoyed lots of good eats! We were in the area in Early March and it was still quite cold, snowed a few days and the Blueridge Parkway was not open completely yet.
We stayed at Creekwood Farms RV in Waynesville, NC

Farm Girl Visits the Biltmore Estate and Winery in Asheville North Carolina travels
Farm Girl and Exoman travel the state and enjoy wine and dining on a visit to The Biltmore in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. There were black bears, wild turkeys, ponds, streams and the French Broad River, so much to see. The trees were still in fall color. The staff were warm and welcoming in this, the largest home in North America. Strolling through the French Renaissance style home built in the late 19th century was whimsical the place is covered with stone and wood carvings, tapestries and paintings by the some of the worlds greatest artists of the period. A team of world class architects, engineers and contractors constructed this masterpiece over a six year period. Strolling through the majestic home out onto the breath taking loggia one can experience the splendor and opulence of the gilded age.
There was still time for a stroll through the wine cellar at the days end and up the stairs to attend the wine tasting. The Bistro restaurant, next to the winery was a good choice for dinner. After sampling the chardonnays, merlot, malbec and cabernet sauvignon wines Farm Girl and Exoman picked up a few bottles at the store but then had beers with dinner.
