English:
Mount Evans is the highest summit of the Chicago Peaks in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains of North America. The prominent 14,271-foot (4350 m) fourteener is located in the Mount Evans Wilderness, 13.4 miles (21.6 km) southwest by south (bearing 214°) of the City of Idaho Springs in Clear Creek County, Colorado, United States, on the drainage divide between Arapaho National Forest and Pike National Forest.
The peak is one of the characteristic Front Range peaks, dominating the western skyline of the Great Plains along with Pikes Peak, Longs Peak, and nearby Mount Bierstadt. Mount Evans can be seen from over 100 miles away to the east, and many miles in other directions. Mount Evans dominates the Denver Metropolitan Area skyline, rising over 9,000 feet (2,700 m) above the area. Mount Evans can be seen from points south of Castle Rock, up to (65 miles (105 km) south) and as far north as Fort Collins (95 miles (153 km) north), and from areas near Limon (105 miles (169 km) east). In the early days of Colorado tourism, Mount Evans and Denver were often in competition with Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs.
Echo Lake Park is a park located along the Mount Evans Scenic Byway about 33.5 mi (54 km) west of Denver, Colorado. The park provides a stone shelter with picnic tables and barbecue grills on one end of the lake, and the 1926 Echo Lake Lodge (gift shop and restaurant service only) and an Arapaho National Forest campground are found at the other. Access to backpacking trails, including the Chicago Lakes trail and Lincoln Lakes trail, can be found adjacent to the lake. The park is part of the Denver Mountain Parks system.

Stevie O's Travels - Episode I - Fall Colors in the Mt. Evans Region, Colorado
Nothing quite like a late September drive in the high country of Colorado. This video features one of the most rewarding local drives for Front Rangers and out of state tourists alike. Just to the West of Denver on I-70 is the beautiful town of Evergreen. Look for Squaw Pass Rd. ( hwy 103 ) only 3 miles south of the Interstate running hwy 74 thru Evergreen. Turn right onto 103 and enjoy the ride. As you climb and get into the 9,000 ft range, you'll find your Golden Aspens peaking from Mid-Sept to mid-October or so. Continue to climb and enjoy the pull offs around 11,000 ft with views looking toward the N.N.W. and the Continental Divide. As you descend, you'll pass the entrance to Mt. Evans Rd. and the lovely Echo Lake. This is where it really gets pretty as you continue to descend down and onward to Idaho Springs.
Vlog #10 Chief Mountain Idaho Springs Colorado
Hiked on 6/11/16 up Chief Mountain. It's 3 miles round trip up 1000 ft. to the top at 11,700 ft. and it only took me an hour to hike all of it. It comes with phenomenal views of the whole Front Range and Evans Wilderness area. I highly recommend this trail and hike for even new hikers/visitors. The trailhead is right next to Echo Ski Resort on Squaw Pass Rd, which is only 1 hour from downtown Denver.
First Day of Autumn ~ A Golden Aspen Drive to Echo Lake Near Mt. Evans and Idaho Springs, Colorado
I recorded my favorite drive along State Highway 103, the Mount Evans Scenic Byway, up to Echo Lake. This was recorded on September 22, 2012.

Clear Creek is a tributary of the South Platte River, approximately 66 miles (106 km) long, in north central Colorado in the United States. The creek flows through Clear Creek Canyon in the Rocky Mountains directly west of Denver, descending through a long gorge to emerge on the Colorado Eastern Plains where it joins the South Platte. Clear Creek holds the unique honor of being the only creek fed by a river in the United States. Fall River empties into Clear Creek along I-70 west of Idaho Springs, Colorado.

Driving to Mt. Evans up HWY 103 to Echo Lake Lodge and then up. From our trip back from Evergreen, CO the weather was perfect for a quick drive with the GoPro Camera.

Mount Evans is a 14,265 feet (4,348 m) mountain in the Front Range region of the Rocky Mountains, in Clear Creek County, Colorado. It is one of 54 fourteeners (mountains with peaks over 14,000 feet (4,300 m)) in Colorado, and the closest fourteener to Denver. It is often compared to Pikes Peak - another Front Range fourteener - which it exceeds in elevation by 154 ft (50 m).
The peak is one of the characteristic Front Range peaks, dominating the western skyline of the Great Plains along with Pikes Peak, Longs Peak, and nearby Mount Bierstadt. Mount Evans can be seen from over 100 miles away to the east, and many miles in other directions.

Old Mining Structure - Idaho Springs, Colorado
Found this fantastic place just right off the highway! Needless to say that I was very thrilled and excited when we discovered this. (I love the Old West and just about everything associated with it - including, yes, MINES!). :-D
Genesee Park Colorado- Denver's Parks System
High speed driving through Genesee park area, I finally find the Beaver Brook Trail which runs along the Brook and goes down the side of the mountain to some spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and stream. At Stapleton Mountain Park Nature Trail they have different signs with braille so you can learn information about the different flora and fauna species living in this alpine environment that you are hiking in, even if you can't even see it. I did slip and fall a few times on the slippery ice so I recommend bringing a hiking stick and hiking boots.
