Educational tours in Panama
EcoCircuitos Panama is a tour operator and DMC that specializes in sustainable tourism and personal travel planning in the Republic of Panama since 1999. Our team is comprised of multi-lingual travel experts and enthusiasts that ensure our clients are provided with high quality service. We offer custom-made travel packages that include birding, hiking, soft adventure tours, cultural and ethnic encounters and educational tours in the Republic of Panama. Our vision as a sustainable tour operator is to combine fun outdoor activities, cultural exchange, educational tours and nature preservation to make a memorable vacation for our clients.
EcoCircuitos offers students majoring in ecology, biology or any other nature-related subject, a brilliant chance to extend their knowledge and to do research on a chosen ecological project.
The field trip organized by a set-up EcoCircuitos-team will be a blend of cultural, natural, and historical encounters. Different types of forests will be analyzed, experiences with indigenous tribes will be shared, coral reefs will be geologically investigated, and various lectures in between the practical excursions will form a basis for further exploration of what Panama´s Neotropical ecology has to offer.
Ecocircuitos has been working closely together with a team of STRI-researchers (Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute) and Panamanian university teachers to choose suitable lecture-topics, as well as the combining practical application.
Our social and environmental responsibility goes beyond the concept of sustainability we have been active and successful in for many years now. Education is another one of our missions. We want to provide interested and talented students the opportunity to discover and explore what they have been learning in class. It is important that they sense the diversity of nature and that they personally grow from the experiences made undertaking their projects, says Annie Young, founder and director of EcoCircuitos.
The program was recently tested, and it has now become a part of the new EcoCircuitos-catalog.

Take a tour of Sights of Panama in Panama -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
Perhaps the most important city in the world for maritime travel and trade is Panama City.
It is the national capital, the largest city in the country, and home to the famous Panama Canal.
The original city was founded by Spanish conquistadors in 1519 as one of the first landing places on their expedition.
However, that city burned to the ground in 1671 during a pirate raid by Henry Morgan.
The current Panama City was rebuilt two years later, several miles away from its old location.
The ruins of Old Panama still exist, though, and are frequently visited by travelers to the city.

Manatees, sloths, kinkajous, coatimundis, capybaras, caimans, crocodiles, white-faced capuchins, Geoffroy's tamarins, spider monkey, night monkeys and howler monkeys are very common in the area.
