Edinburgh Central Mosque Fires Imam in 5 minute meeting

Muslims have been celebrating the completion of a 3.5 (m) million pound (5.7 (m) million U-S dollar) mosque in, Scotland's capital Edinburgh.
Much of the building was paid for by Saudi Arabia and it was opened by Saudi Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd.
Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Fahd arrived on Friday at the mosque in Edinburgh - named after his father King Fahd - to officially open it.
The Saudis paid most of the 3.5 (m) million pound (5.7 (m) million U-S dollar) construction costs for the building.
It took a number of years to build and is based on a mix of Islamic and Scottish architectural styles.
The building will be a centre for Scotland's 10-thousand Muslims.
The prince met Scottish Secretary Donald Dewar at the official ceremony.
Dewar said it was a fitting symbol.

It's a fitting symbol of the growing confidence of the Muslim community in Scotland and the part they play in enriching our community and the tremendously good relationship between those of us who have been in Scotland for a long time and those who have joined us and are so welcome. And I am very grateful for the generosity that has made it possible. It's a great addition to the Edinburgh landscape.

For a better tomorrow we need to address the misconceptions now and come together and unite for a better tomorrow. Whether Muslim or not, discover Islam Week was a great opportunity to find out more about Islam! It brought the campus together with events bringing in upwards of 200 or more people. Discover Islam Week runs once a year and is a week long, event packed, amazing experience that all attendees fully enjoy.

The society has a weekly meeting for 1 hour right in the heart of the university campus where we come together to socialise and grow spiritually together.
