Circle Alignments on the Planet Algiers - Part 13 Wick, Scotland to Edinburgh, Scotland
Website: piercingtheveilofillusion.com
If you like my work, I would be appreciative of your support of any amount at Patreon: patreon.com/piercingtheveilofillusion
In this video, I am beginning in Wick, Scotland, a town and royal burgh located in the far north of Scotland. Wick is slightly northeast of the actual circle alignment as it tracks through Scotland, however, this region of Scotland is significant, and has noteworthy things to include.
In the last video, the circle alignment was tracked from its entry point into western Iceland in the town of Olafsvik on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, across the Faroe Islands lying between the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea, and on over the Hebrides Islands off the Northwest coast of Scotland in the North Atlantic Ocean.
Rat Race Road Trip, 2013; London to Edinburgh Cycle Ride
In May 2013 the Trek and Run team undertook the 4 day London to Edinburgh cycle ride. Over 400 miles, mostly on rural roads, was going to be a challenge for anybody, especially us, as we don't cycle that much (Karl goes out once or twice a week for short rides, I've been on a bike twice in the last 30 years). For the full event review, please see trekandrun.com

Review of Just Eat (Borris) Bikes in Edinburgh (2018)
On the day of release of Edinburgh's new Just Eat Bikes (17th of September) I took a few out to see what they were like and ended up doing a review.
I know that my opinion probably isn't the best as i am not a cyclist but there are still a lot of other points to consider with these bikes.
Find out what I think of them and info like their locations throughout the city, what the app is like it use, how the bikes ride and much more.

Edinburgh Cycle Lanes Top 10: No.5
A rundown of the 'top' 10 cycle lanes in Edinburgh, UK.
There's nothing particularly dangerous about this one, but it's another that falls into the 'why?' category. Clearly it was felt that since the lane was being narrowed for the 'Buses Only' section that bikes would either 'get in the way' or 'be in a dangerous position'. But the lane only lasts for 20 odd yards, and the surface is terrible (the surface for the buses has recently been renewed).
If a cyclist sticks to the main road (as I always do here) the bus would lose about 7 seconds (if that). If a cyclist takes the cycle lane then they have to suffer the awful road surface, and then rejoin the traffic if there's a bus coming.
And even more strangely there's another short bit of road narrowing warning of the section that only buses can go through, and there's NOT a cycle lane there. Make up your mind on what's safe for cyclists!!!

Edinburgh's Lord Provost sees off 30 cyclists as they head for Paris
By Martin Graham
THIRTY cyclists set off on a marathon journey from Edinburgh to Paris today, and Lord Provost George Grubb was there to wish them well.
The Auld Alliance Charity Cycle Run will raise funds for organisations in Malawi and China, as well as promoting Scotland as a tourist destination.
One of the cyclists will be riding a special electric bicycle which has been specially fitted out with an extra battery to help with the demands of a long distance ride.
The electric bike will be ridden by retired police inspector Tom McInally, 50, from Corstorphine.
Tom said: I have done the same journey twice before on a regular bike, so I know the route well.
I am dying to put the electric bike through its paces and see how far I can go between charges by using pedal power and electric power.
I used to ride a bike when I was a cop in London in the 80s, its a great way to get around.
The electric bike really opens up cycling to people who are maybe a bit older, or have less mobility.
It lets them get back into cycling gently, and then move on to using a pedal power only bike.
Edinburghs Lord Provost George Grubb was also impressed by the electric bike and enjoyed trying it out.
When asked if he would like to join the trip to Paris, he said: I would love to but I just dont have the time right now.
I have a bike of my own and I did the 23 mile Edinburgh to Dunfermline bike ride a couple of years ago.
Its a nice way to extend links between Scotland and France, since cycling is the national sport of France.
The 500 mile journey will culminate with the cyclists riding up the Champs Elysee before having tea and cakes on the lawn at the British Embassy.
