[HIROSHIMA] Experience more Japan | JNTO
■TripNotes
Spot 1: Itsukushima Shrine
Miyajima, one of Japan's most scenic places, is home to the world heritage site, Itsukushima Shrine. The special characteristics of this shrine are its floating Torii gate that stands in the ocean, and the inner sanctuary of the Shrine. At high tide, the Shrine submerges in the water and appears to be floating on the sea in this sacred landscape.
Only in Japan will you find a Noh stage that floats in the sea and this traditional art can be witnessed under the moonlight at night.
Spot 2: Daisho-in Temple
Amongst all the temples in Miyajima, the oldest one is the Daihonzan Daisho-in Temple. It's a 20-minute walk from Miyajima Bridge. This place is peaceful and beautiful and from here you can gaze quietly upon the townscape on the other side of the shore.
Enshrined here are various Buddhas, including the Eleven-faced enlightened monk called Avalokitesvara. Bells resound in the entire area and the vibrant autumn colors of the Japanese Maple will cleanse your heart.
Spot 3: Hiroshima Peace Memorial
On August 6, 1945 an atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima. This is the only building that survived the atomic bombings and has been preserved in the state it was at the time and was later on opened to the public as Hiroshima Peace Memorial. It was also registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996.
Since 1964, a flame of peace continues to burn at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, where the atomic bomb dome is located, in hope of a world free of nuclear weapons.
Spot 3: Orizuru Tower
Orizuru Tower was opened right next to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial in 2016. As a new tourist attraction in the city of Hiroshima, it's a facility devised to convey the past, present and future of Hiroshima. Enjoy panoramic views of Hiroshima city from the Hiroshima-no-oka observation deck.
Food: Oysters
Oysters are a gourmet delicacy inseparable from Hiroshima. While winter is the peak season to enjoy delicious oysters, they are available all year round.
There is a variety of oyster dishes available, but if you want to enjoy the original flavor of oysters, raw oysters, or baked oysters are recommended. The condensed flavor of freshly baked oysters is especially delicious.

Much of the preserved street of Saga-Toriimoto leading to the Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple has been well maintained in the style of the Meiji Period (1868-1912). Many of the buildings along this atmospheric street are traditional machiya (town houses) style that used to serve as private residences but have then been converted into shops and restaurants.
Gyokusen-ji Temple - Yamagata - 玉川寺 - 4K Ultra HD
Hidden at the foot of one of Japan’s most sacred mountains, Haguro-san, you will find the beautiful Gyokusen-ji temple. Founded in 1251 by the Korean born priest Ryonenhomyo. Inspired by his years long pilgrimage, he acquired a unique sense of beauty and aesthetics that helped him design Gyokusen-ji temple. While the temple itself could be quickly overlooked, the Gyokusen-ji temple garden makes the place so special and that’s why many Japanese people love this temple so much. Thanks to its unique design, visitors can enjoy the comfy veranda while drinking tea.

Kyoto Walk - Ishibe Koji / Ishibe Alley (石塀小路) - 4K
In this video we’ll show you Ishibe Koji / Ishibe Alley (石塀小路), Kyoto.
Ishibe Koji, as its name represents, is a narrow alley with continuous stone fences. Flagstones on the street were recycled from cobblestones which were laid on the track of the streetcar. Walking on the street, you may feel the Kyoto sentiment with the row of watered inns and restaurant inns.

Jawaharlal Nehru 1889 1964 – First Indian Prime Minister
The people who changed the world,Movie Stars , Characters,Artists,Musicians
Jawaharlal Nehru (/ˈneɪruː, ˈnɛruː/;[5] Hindustani: [ˈdʒəʋaːɦərˈlaːl ˈneːɦru] ( listen); 14 November 1889 – 27 May 1964) was the first Prime Minister of India and a central figure in Indian politics for much of the 20th century. He emerged as the paramount leader of the Indian independence movement under the tutelage of Mahatma Gandhi and ruled India from its establishment as an independent nation in 1947 until his death in office in 1964. Nehru is considered to be the architect of the modern Indian nation-state: a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic.
The son of Motilal Nehru, a prominent lawyer and nationalist statesman and Swaroop Rani, Nehru was a graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge and the Inner Temple, where he trained to be a barrister. Upon his return to India, he enrolled at the Allahabad High Court, and took an interest in national politics, which eventually replaced his legal practice. A committed nationalist since his teenage years, Nehru became a rising figure in Indian politics during the upheavals of the 1910s. He became the prominent leader of the left-wing factions of the Indian National Congress during the 1920s, and eventually of the entire Congress, with the tacit approval of his mentor, Gandhi. As Congress President in 1929, Nehru called for complete independence from the British Raj and instigated the Congress's decisive shift towards the left.
Nehru and the Congress dominated Indian politics during the 1930s as the country moved towards independence. His idea of a secular nation-state was seemingly validated when the Congress, under his leadership, swept the 1937 provincial elections and formed the government in several provinces; on the other hand, the separatist Muslim League fared much poorer. But these achievements were seriously compromised in the aftermath of the Quit India Movement in 1942, which saw the British effectively crush the Congress as a political organisation. Nehru, who had reluctantly heeded Gandhi's call for immediate independence, for he had desired to support the Allied war effort during the Second World War, came out of a lengthy prison term to a much altered political landscape. The Muslim League under his old Congress colleague and now bête noire, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had come to dominate Muslim politics in India. Negotiations between Nehru and Jinnah for power sharing failed and gave way to the independence and bloody partition of India in 1947.
Nehru was elected by the Congress to assume office as independent India's first Prime Minister, although the question of leadership had been settled as far back as 1941, when Gandhi acknowledged Nehru as his political heir and successor. As Prime Minister, Nehru set out to realise his vision of India. The Constitution of India was enacted in 1950, after which he embarked on an ambitious program of economic, social and political reforms. Chiefly, he oversaw India's transition from a monarchy to a republic, while nurturing a plural, multi-party democracy. In foreign policy, Nehru took a leading role in Non-Alignment while projecting India as a regional hegemon in South Asia.
Under Nehru's leadership, the Congress emerged as a catch-all party, dominating national and state-level politics and winning consecutive elections in 1951, 1957, and 1962. He remained popular with the people of India in spite of political troubles in his final years and failure of leadership during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. In India, his birthday is celebrated as Children's Day.
