The Church of San Juan y Todos los Santos, is a Catholic cult temple, located in the Plaza de la Trinidad in the city of Cordoba (Andalusia, Spain). In this place, was the convent and the church of the Trinity, that was a foundation of King Fernando III of Castile in the thirteenth century. The building which is preserved, of baroque architecture, dating from the early eighteenth century.
When King Fernando III conquered Cordoba in June 1236 didn't find Catholic churches of the Visigoths times, when he had been the bishop Osio's headquarters. Such churches have existed but instead were built mosques. Under his authority and sponsorship were restoring and building a number of churches and a convent. These are known as fernandinas churches, Gothic transition (from Romanesque to Gothic). These include San Juan de los Caballeros and Omnium Sanctorum.
Since then, some have disappeared, others were joined together. This was the case of these two, when in 1799 merged to form a single parish, the parish of San Juan (later St. John and All Saints) which was in the place where the school of Las Esclavas.
After the confiscation of the nineteenth century this parish moved to the church that had been the convent of the Trinitarians, convent, which in at the same time, had been founded by the saintly king. Since then the temple is known by the name of the Trinity parish. This project is dedicated to making the supposed virtual reconstruction of the Church of San Juan y Todos los Santos, founded in 1241. With that, will be more understandable the historical context and urban changes that have taken place.
A recent archaeological excavations inside, with the intention of changing the paving and improving the building's HVAC, has been what motivated the purpose of this work.
