My heart is full. I can't believe I've seen this beauty almost a year ago. From City of Edinburgh to the Highlands real quick. From chasing Harry Potter sites and inspo to finding Nessie at Loch Ness. Haha. It's a bit boring but I love how the highlands transitioned from green and brown to pure snow. Amazing! ????

Escape to the Country - Scottish Borders ...
The Scottish Borders is one of 32 council areas of Scotland.It borders the City of Edinburgh, Dumfries and Galloway, East Lothian, Midlothian, South Lanarkshire, West Lothian and, to the south-west, south and east, the English counties of Cumbria and Northumberland. The administrative centre of the area is Newtown St Boswells.
The term Scottish Borders is also used to designate the areas of southern Scotland and northern England that bound the Anglo-Scottish border.
The term Borders also has a wider meaning, referring to all of the counties adjoining the English border, also including Dumfriesshire and Kirkcudbrightshire — as well as Northumberland, Cumberland and Westmorland in England.
Roxburghshire and Berwickshire historically bore the brunt of the conflicts with England, both during declared wars such as the Wars of Scottish Independence, and armed raids which took place in the times of the Border Reivers. Thus, across the region are to be seen the ruins of many castles, abbeys and even towns.
The council area was created in 1975, by merging the historic counties of Berwickshire, Peeblesshire, Roxburghshire, and Selkirkshire and part of Midlothian, as a two-tier region with the districts of Berwickshire, Ettrick and Lauderdale, Roxburgh, and Tweeddale within it. In 1996 the region became a unitary authority area and the districts were wound up. The region was created with the name Borders. Following the election of a shadow area council in 1995 the name was changed to Scottish Borders with effect from 1996.
Although there is evidence of some Scottish Gaelic in the origins of place names such as Innerleithen (confluence of the Leithen), Kilbucho and Longformacus, which contain identifiably Goidelic rather than Brythonic Celtic elements and are an indication of at least a Gaelic-speaking elite in the area, the main languages in the area since the 5th century appear to have been Brythonic (in the west) and Old English (in the east), the latter of which developed into its modern forms of English and Scots.
Escape to the Country is a British daytime television reality property-buying/real estate programme, created by Talkback Thames, which premieres on network BBC One, produced by John Comerford and is repeated on BBC Two. It also airs internationally in broadcast syndication. The program helps potential buyers find their dream home in the rural UK by showcasing three properties (including a mystery property) for inspection, then asking that week's guests to guess the market price. Episodes also feature information regarding the suburb presented, for example local industry and history. It first aired in October 2002.

The M69 motorway (highway), saw this accident that allowed a woman driver to escape mostly unscathed. If you get stuck under a lorry (truck), this is the way you want it with no car getting crushed with little chance of survival if that happened. A lucky escape indeed

As our time in Scotland comes to an end we can't help but feel so impressed, blessed and in love with this country! Fife in particular has blown us away with it's beautiful seaside villages, huge list of things to do and so much going one - not something always associated with the UK.
St Andrews is so much more than just the home of golf - it's got a very special presence and some incredible tales about it's church, cathedral and St Rules Tower as well.
Scotland has definitely been kind to us with the weather, we've had 95% sun during our time in Fife! That's far from normal, but any chance to explore St Andrews in the sunshine is a win in our books.
