Bears in Estes Park and RMNP
Black bears were celebrated in Estes Park May 7th with a fantastic benefit concert by Cowboy Brad Fitch and the TropiCowboy Band. A fun education area included Colorado Parks & Wildlife, Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Valley Bear Education Task Force, Bears Are Us, Estes Park Police Auxillary, YMCA and more. This 15 minute video was shown and featured these same fine organizations warning of feeding bears, intentionally or unintentionally. Hear what they have to say.

Best Hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park
There are so many beautiful hiking trails in the Rocky Mountain National Park, it’s hard to pick just one. So, we took the advice of locals working at an outdoor shop in the nearby town of Estes Park and chose the path to Sky Pond. The hike was just difficult enough that I felt like I got a great workout, but not so hard that I couldn’t do it.
Along the way stops included a photo op a the 30-foot Alberta Falls, walk around the Loch Vale, hike up to the larger Timberline Falls, stroll around Glass Lake, and lunch at Sky Pond.
For more details on the hike:

(9/11/18) Grand Lake, Trail Ridge Rd, to Estes Park
This morning we check out of the Gateway Inn and have lunch at Blue Water Bakery. We explore Grand Lake a little bit, picking up a souvenir aspen vase at a art shop. On our way out we stop at the Mountain Food Market.
We head to Rocky Mountain National Park. After stopping by the visitor center we search in vain for moose. We head up Trail Ridge road and visit the Alpine Visitor Center at the top. We head down towards the east side of the park. We explore around, see some elk, including one with HUGE antlers. After we leave we stop at Smokin' Dave's for some BBQ. We explore town abit, hitting up some pokestops and gyms, and encounter a huge herd of elk near the visitor center. Its dark by the time we check into the Estes Lake Lodge.

We weren’t prepared for hiking and the weather at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, we ended up hiking in thundersnow! Driving from Denver where it was beautiful and sunny the weather changed so much by the time we got to the park (RMNP). We tried to hike until thunder and lightning started falling. So we drove to Boulder to get dinner then headed home. I promised Gig we’d go back one day when the weather was better,
