Go chocolate crazy in Perugia, the chocolate capital of the world.
They say chocolate is the food of the Gods, you can feel like a God during chocolate festival. During the chocolate festival in Perugia you can eat all kinds of chocolate. There are chocolate samples, sculptures, chocolate spa. There is even chocolate themed nightlife.
Dolce al Cioccolato. It was invented 120 years ago. It is a mix of cocoa powder, 15 spices, almonds, flour and sugar. Everything tastes together without the use of fats. There is no butter, no milk, no eggs.
You also get to see some very creative sculptures. Let's go to see the Igloo. This Igloo is made of 3,600 kilos of chocolate. I am Matteo Mealli, showing you Perugia.

Eurochocolate è il festival sul cioccolato che si svolge ogni anno a Perugia, in Umbria. La manifestazione, nata nel 1993, rappresenta oggi la più grande e importante kermesse sul cioccolato in Europa.
Ogni anno quasi un milione di visitatori raggiunge Perugia per Eurochocolate.
L’evento dura dieci giorni e si snoda lungo le principali strade e piazze del centro storico della città: Piazza Italia, Piazza della Repubblica, Corso Vannucci, Via Mazzini, Via Fani, Terrazza del Mercato Coperto e Piazza IV Novembre.

Ne siamo orgogliosi: Eurochocolate è Official Content Provider del Cluster Cacao e Cioccolato e firma l’area più golosa di Expo Milano 2015!
Lo staff di Eurochocolate coordina, infatti, l’intera area dedicata al Cibo degli Dei che si sviluppa su 5.500 mq lordi che presentano ai visitatori un entusiasmante viaggio: dalla piantagione di cacao al prodotto di cioccolato finito e confezionato.

Perugia is the capital city of both the region of Umbria in central Italy, crossed by the river Tiber, and of the province of Perugia. The city is located about 164 kilometres (102 miles) north of Rome and 148 km (92 miles) southeast of Florence. It covers a high hilltop and part of the valleys around the area. The region of Umbria is bordered by Tuscany, Lazio, and Marche.
The history of Perugia goes back to the Etruscan period; Perugia was one of the main Etruscan cities.
The city is also known as the universities town, with the University of Perugia founded in 1308 (about 34,000 students), the University for Foreigners (5,000 students), and some smaller colleges such as the Academy of Fine Arts Pietro Vannucci (Italian: Accademia di Belle Arti Pietro Vannucci) public athenaeum founded in 1573, the Perugia University Institute of Linguistic Mediation for translators and interpreters, the Music Conservatory of Perugia, founded in 1788, and other institutes.
Perugia is also a well-known cultural and artistic centre of Italy. The city hosts multiple annual festivals and events, e.g., the Eurochocolate Festival (October), the Umbria Jazz Festival (July), and the International Journalism Festival (in April), and is associated with multiple notable people in the arts.
The famous painter Pietro Vannucci, nicknamed Perugino, was a native of Città della Pieve, near Perugia. He decorated the local Sala del Cambio with a beautiful series of frescoes; eight of his pictures can also be admired in the National Gallery of Umbria.
Perugino was the teacher of Raphael, the great Renaissance artist who produced five paintings in Perugia (today no longer in the city) and one fresco. Another famous painter, Pinturicchio, lived in Perugia. Galeazzo Alessi is the most famous architect from Perugia.
The city's symbol is the griffin, which can be seen in the form of plaques and statues on buildings around the city.

Chi non conosce l’EuroChocolate di Perugia? Famoso appuntamento, amato da tutti i golosi, è uno degli eventi più rinomati del capoluogo umbro.
Ogni mese di ottobre l’evento anima Perugia. Nel 2018 l’appuntamento è dal 19 al 28 ottobre, per tutte le piazze e vie del centro storico
Quest’anno sarà un’edizione speciale per l’EuroChocolate di Perugia. Si tratterà infatti delle nozze d’argento: la 25esima edizione. Un quarto di secolo che sarà festeggiato nel migliore dei modi. Un tuffo nel passato, ripercorrendo, fanno sapere dall’organizzazione, i vari capitoli dell’evento con i protagonisti nazionali e internazionali del mondo del cioccolato che sono passati dall’EuroChocolate di Perugia.

A Eurochocolate quest’anno è tutta un’altra musica e tra le novità della 24edizione del festival internazionale del cioccolato, in programma a Perugia fino a domenica 22 ottobre, il rapporto instaurato con la Bcc Umbria. L’istituto di credito cooperativa è divenuto, infatti, partener bancario della manifestazione.

Eurochocolate - Perugia 2016
Perugia ospita ogni anno l'appuntamento con la manifestazione internazionale dedicata al cioccolato, ricca di eventi nel cuore del centro storico della capitale Umbra.
Ogni anno Eurochocolate decide un tema a cui ispiarare la manifestazione, il 2016 è stato dedicato alla condivisione inaugurando l'era dello sharing chocolate, per questo l'evento ha preso un'identità social con il simbolo del maxi ChocoSelfie che si trovava in piazza IV Novembre, lungo 7 metri e con una tavoletta da seimila chili di cioccolato, che è stata tappa d'obbligo per il popolo di golosi che si trovava a Perugia.
L'evento è stato un successo, su instagram sono state infatti condivise oltre 10mila foto con gli hashtag Eurochocolate e Eurochocolate2016, 1.600 usando #chocoselfie e 1.000 usando #Conchi nei soli giorni della manifestazione, ed #Eurochocolate è entrato nelle tendenze di Twitter nel giorno di apertura.
