Intro & Reykjavik - ICELAND Narrated Vacation Documentary - PART 1
Part 1 Begins @2:36
This is Part 1 of 4 of the Iceland Vacation Documentary. In early August 2015 my family traveled to Iceland - this documentary shares my experience with video footage and my own thoughts with narration. We traveled on several tours to see as much as possible in one week. Part 1 is about Reykjavik the capital city, Part 2 is about the Golden Circle Tour, Part 3 is about the Blue Lagoon and Whale Watching, and Part 4 is about the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.
Iceland, Reykjavik in January - Blue Lagoon, Golden Circle and more! 4K
My wife and I spent 4 nights in Iceland in January 2016. Our highlight was probably the Blue Lagoon but Iceland is just an amazing place that anyone should visit if they get the chance.
The weather was unusually warm, so we didn't actually see much snow. Also the rain and grey skies meant that we couldn't see the northern lights (a good excuse to go back).
All captured on my GoPro Hero 4 Black in 4K, 29fps. I also use my Feiyutech G4 QD stabilising gimbal.
Make sure, if you liked the video, hit the like button and feel free to ask any questions about this amazing destination; i'll try and answer them as quickly as possible.

Four Days in Reykjavík, Iceland - A Travel Guide
This is a bit of a first for this channel, it's a travel vlog that is in NO WAY theme park related! Last week Mrs Hakes and I went off to spend four days in Reykjavík, Iceland. It's a wonderful city, and we had an incredible time here. Below is a list of places we went / tour companies we used.
To save messing around with a gimbal and camera for the whole time it was entirely shot on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
Everything went extremely smoothly, from the flights to the transfers and the tours - it was perfect! I'll write up a full post about it all in due course, but for now - here's the vlog.

I flew to Reykjavik with Wow Air to check out what the capital city of Iceland has to offer. Watch as I take you on a tour of the city, visiting the Hallgrimskirkja church, the Icelandic Phallological museum (aka penis museum) and the Harpa concert hall. I also stop to try the best hot dog in the world at Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur.

My favorite THINGS TO DO in Iceland::
► Reykjavik & Golden Circle
Iceland's capital city and home to 122,000 people. Reykjavik is the largest city in Iceland and most traveler's jumping off point for the Ring Road and Golden Circle.
The Golden Circle is a popular tourist driving route in southern Iceland, which covers about 300 kilometers looping from Reykjavík into the southern uplands of Iceland and back. There are many Golden Circle tours, but I would recommend doing this with a rental car. Featured attractions include Geysir, Blue Lagoon and Gullfoss waterfall.
One of my favorite things to do in Iceland in this region is the Reykjadalur Hot Springs - A beautiful and unique geothermal river near the town of Hveragerði. It takes about one hour to hike up to the hot springs, so be prepared.
► Central Highlands
► Northern Iceland
Eyjafjörður Fjord - One of the best places in Iceland to see the Northern Lights. Northern Iceland has very little light pollution, so tracking the Northern Lights over the Fjords is a great idea.
Ásbyrgi Canyon - This massive canyon was formed way back after the ice age as melting glacier floods ripped giant divots into the earth and left this beautiful valley and rock walls in its path.
Northern Lights - In order to have the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland, check out this website we used to track the cloud coverage and aurora activity.
Dettifoss Waterfall - Said to be Europe’s most powerful waterfall, and we’re getting a unique perspective - by moonlight.
► Western Iceland & Snæfellsnes Peninsula
Godafoss Waterfall - An expansive horseshoe-shaped cascade that’s probably my favorite waterfall of the entire trip.
► Eastern Iceland
Hverir or Namafjall geothermal field - Located in northeastern Iceland around the geothermal region of Lake Mývatn - a vast area of hot springs, sulfur crystals, and boiling mud pots.
► Southern Iceland
Seljalandsfoss - A popular waterfall in South Iceland, and the only waterfall (that I know of) in Iceland that you can walk behind.
Skogafoss - Massive curtain waterfall with a drop of 60 meters and a width of 25 meters, also in Southern Iceland.
Reynisfjara - Incredible black sand beach near Vik with basalt sea stacks to one side and rock formations jetting out of the ocean. Get here early to really appreciate it.

Iceland Travel, A Day Exploring Reykjavik Iceland, January 2018
This is a video of our day exploring Reykjavik in Iceland. Other than exploring the town and the shops, we visited the cathedral Hallgrimskirkja, a few coffee shops and stores, the harbour-side and also the rather eccentric phallological museum...
For more on my travels head to my blog:
Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland in winter
Reykjavík is the world’s northernmost capital, with a population of only 123,000 (approx..), but what it lacks in terms of the populace, it makes up for in culture and excitement. Reykjavík has a vibrant cultural and design scene, with plenty of exciting adventure tours, museums, galleries, shops, bars and clubs for you to explore throughout your stay.
Iceland’s capital city provides a great base from which to experience some of the island’s breathtakingly beautiful natural wonders, such as the famous Blue Lagoon geothermic spa, The Northern Lights or The Golden Circle; where you’ll witness spouting geysers, waterfalls, rift valleys and more. Whatever way you choose to spend your time in Reykjavík, this is one city break that is truly unique.
