Maple Bridge (Fengqiao) in Suzhou
Located about 3.5 kilometers to Suzhou Ancient City, the Maple Bridge is a single-arch stone bridge across the ancient Jinghang Grand Canal. It is well-known to the tourists because of a poem called 'A Night Mooring near Maple Bridge'. In a cold and lonely evening, the poet moored at the Maple Bridge. Inspired by the splendid night scenery near the bridge, he wrote that poem.
It is difficult to trace the origin of the Maple Bridge. The present bridge was rebuilt in 1867 with a length of about 40 meters.

Hánshān Sì (lit. Temple on Cold Mountain) is said to have been founded during the Tianjian era (天監年間, 502--519). The building complex was burnt down several times in history and the present one was built in 1906 towards the end of Qing dynasty.

Suzhou Gardens, beautiful city 100 km fromShanghai, known as venice of the east due to the fact that 42% of it area is water.
The Journey started from Wuxi , the Nearby City, toward the one of four most famous gardens in China, the Humble Administrator's Garden (Zhuo Zheng Yuan) . 52,000 sq. m Garden that known for its elegant classical architecture.
From there, we visited FengQiao old town. know form the Feng(Maple bridge) and Hanshan Temple. the place became famous due poem A Night Mooring near Maple Bridge written by Zhang Ji from Tang Dinasty,
We visited Shantang Street, ancient riverside pedestrian road adjacent to Canal that flock with tourist for riverside cruise.

Nanyang is a small city, and we stayed at Holiday Inn Nanyang and fortunately stumbled upon a beautiful flower garden!
Then we went to Qi Feng Shan, climbing the mountain and enjoying the scenery from above and during our trip up and down the mountain.

소수 민족촌을 찾아가는 길은 험난했다. 곳곳에서 도로를 보수하느라 통행을 막는다. 얼마를 기다려야 하는지도 모르는 상황. 그래도 누구 하나 짜증내지 않는다, 아니 여유마저 느껴진다. 귀주성에 사는 17개의 소수민족 중 내가 찾아간 곳은 묘족촌이다. 비바람을 피할 수도 즐길 수도 있게 만든, 다리와 누각의 두 가지 기능을 하는 풍우교. 쇠못을 하나도 안 쓰고 나무를 끼워 맞춰 만든 목조건축물이다. 묘족들의 여유와 멋이 느껴진다. 마을 어귀부터 모든 사람들이 마중 나와 악기를 연주하며 손님들을 맞는다. 짧은 치마가 특징인 단군묘족. 은으로 만든 전통복장과 화관을 한 묘족 아가씨들이 술잔을 들고 방문객들을 맞는다. 알코올 도수 53도의 독한 술. 길막이 술은 멀리서 온 손님을 환영한다는 뜻이란다. 술 세 잔을 연속해서 마셔야 비로소 마을로 들어갈 수 있다. 묘족은 근면하고 지적이며 노래와 춤에 능한 민족이라고 한다. 민족적 자긍심도 대단해 자신들의 관습과 문화를 그대로 보존하고 있다. 묘족여인의 머리모양과 장식은 그 사람의 기혼여부를 판단하는 중요한 잣대다. 머리에 아무 장식이 없으면 미혼이고 뾰족 뾰족한 장식이 있으면 기혼이라는 뜻이다. 묘족 여인들의 손님맞이 춤이 시작됐다. 가만히 보니 조그만 의자를 양손에 나눠 쥐고 두드려댄다. 화톳불을 피우고 술을 마시다 보면 흥이 나기 마련. 신이 나서 앉고 있던 의자를 부딪치며 놀던 게 의자 춤의 유래라고 한다. 묘족은 고대사에 등장하는 치우천황을 시조로 모신다. 치우천황은 월드컵 때 붉은 악마의 문양으로 우리들에게 잘 알려진 전쟁의 신이다. 금계의 깃털을 흉내 낸 여인들의 춤사위가 우아하다. 은으로 만든 장신구로 ‘찰랑찰랑…’ 소리를 내며 추는 춤이 고혹적이다. 노생은 갈대와 대나무로 만든 생황과 같은 악기다. 우리나라 생황과는 달리 그 길이가 엄청나다. 원로들의 노생연주가 시작되면 마을 사람 모두 광장으로 모인다. 묘족들과 방문객이 한데 어우러져 민족 단결춤을 추며 마을의 손님맞이는 막을 내린다.

Suzhou is one of the most beautiful city in China, which is called Eastern Venice and heaven. The city is renowned for its beautiful stone bridges, pagodas, and meticulously designed gardens which have contributed to its status as a great tourist attraction. Since the Song Dynasty (960-1279), Suzhou has also been an important centre for China's silk industry and continues to hold that prominent position today.
Culture
1.The Yunyan Pagoda, or Huqiu Tower, a tower that is now leaning due to lack of foundational support (half soil, half rock), built during the latter part of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms era (907-960 AD).
2. The Beisi Pagoda of Suzhou, built between 1131 and 1162 during the Song Dynasty (with later renovations), 76 m (243 ft) tall.
3. Chinese opera: Kunqu originates in the Suzhou region, as does the much later Suzhou Opera. Ballad-singing, or Suzhou pingtan, is a local form of storytelling that mixes singing (accompanied on the pipa) with portions in spoken dialect.

10. Suzhou is the original place of Jasmine, a song sung by Chinese singers or actresses thousands of times on the occasions of almost every important meetings or celebrations. Jasmine is also the symbol of Suzhou as well as Tai Hu Lake.
11. Suzhou Gardens: Gardens in Suzhou have an ancient history. The first garden in Suzhou belonged to the emperor of Wu State in Spring and Autumn Period (BC 600). More than 200 gardens existed in Suzhou between 16th century and 18th century. Gardens in Suzhou were built according to the style of Chinese Paintings. Every view in a garden can be seen as a piece of Chinese Painting and the whole garden is a huge piece of Chinese Paintings. At present, the Humble Administrator's Garden, built in 16th, is the largest private garden in Suzhou. It belonged to by Wang Xianchen, an imperial censor.[4]
Suzhou embroidery together with embroidery of Hunan, Sichuan and Guangdong are called as
the Four Famous Embroideries. Suzhou tapestry method is done in fine silks and gold thread. Other art forms found in this area are sculpture, Song brocade, jade and rosewood carving.
12. The Suzhou Museum has a rich collection of relics from many eras. The collection includes revolutionary records, stele carving, folk customs, drama and verse, Suzhou embroidery, silk cloth, gardens, coins and Buddhist artifacts.
