Elbrus Nigmatullin set a new world record by pushing a Ferris wheel weighing over 34 tons at a theme park in Chelyabinsk on Wednesday. Russia's strongest man took less than eight minutes to spin the gigantic wheel 360 degrees by the sheer force of his own arms at the city's Gagarin Park.
In the past Nigmatullin has made headlines by pulling two buses, a ship, an aircraft, trams, trains and even a ship. He has been crowned Russia's strongest man a total of three times.

Chelyabinsk Meteor
The NPP satellite is a prototype of the next generation polar orbiting JPSS series of satellites. NPP provides scientists and weather forecasters with critical continuity of data allowing them to study long-term climate changes and provide improved weather forecasts. The highly accurate five instruments on board NPP have already proven to deliver an exceptional quality of data thus continuing the legacy of satellites like Terra and Aqua. Shortly after local sunrise on February 15th of 2013, a meteor as big as a building reached Earth's atmosphere and produced a massive explosion above Chelyabinsk, a densely populated Russian metropolis. The highly sensitive OMPS instrument on board NPP observed the plume from the explosion 1,100km eastward. Scientists used the data from this first observation and ran two NASA models to project the path of the plume. The results show that the plume's higher layer would move ahead of the lower layer due to the difference in wind velocity at higher and lower altitudes. The models also showed that the plume would circumnavigate the entire globe and return to Chelyabinsk by February 19th, 2013. As more OMPS observations came in, it was clear that they coincided with the projected path perfectly. The results from this study proved the accuracy of the models as well as the unprecedented sensitivity of the OMPS instrument. The OMPS instrument was able to detect remains of the plume months after the initial explosion, which helped scientists track and study the plume for a long period of time. Since the Earth is constantly impacted by meteoric debris, an instrument like OMPS gives the scientists hope that in its 5-year design lifetime, they will better understand the effect of meteors and particles on the stratosphere, as well as the chemistry of our stratosphere and atmospheric ozone layer.

Large meteor fragment lands in Russia lake and 1,100 injured as shock wave blows in windows
A large fragment from a meteor which crashed in Russia has landed in an icy lake, police say.
Scientists are keen to analyse the remnants, found near Chebarkul, a town in Chelyabinsk region.
The Russian Academy of Sciences estimates that the meteor weighed about 10 tonnes and entered the Earth's atmosphere at a speed of at least 54,000 km/h (33,000mph).
A meteor streaked across the sky and exploded over Russia's Ural Mountains with the power of an atomic bomb Friday, its sonic blasts shattering countless windows and injuring about 1,100 people.
The spectacle deeply frightened many Russians, with some elderly women declaring that the world was coming to an end. Many of the injured were cut by flying glass as they flocked to windows, curious about what had produced such a blinding flash of light.
The meteor — estimated to be about 10 tons — entered the Earth's atmosphere at a hypersonic speed of at least 54,000 kph (33,000 mph) and shattered into pieces about 30-50 kilometers (18-32 miles) above the ground, the Russian Academy of Sciences said in a statement.
Amateur video showed an object speeding across the sky about 9:20 a.m. local time, just after sunrise, leaving a thick white contrail and an intense flash.
There was panic. People had no idea what was happening, said Sergey Hametov, a resident of Chelyabinsk, a city of 1 million about 1,500 kilometers (930 miles) east of Moscow.
We saw a big burst of light, then went outside to see what it was and we heard a really loud, thundering sound, he told The Associated Press by telephone.
The meteor hit less than a day before Asteroid 2012 DA14 is to make the closest recorded pass of an asteroid to the Earth — about 17,150 miles (28,000 kilometers). But the European Space Agency said its experts had determined there was no connection — just cosmic coincidence.
The meteor released several kilotons of energy above the region, the Russian science academy said. According to NASA, it was about 15 meters (49 feet) wide before it hit the atmosphere, about one-quarter the size of the passing asteroid.
Some meteorite fragments fell in a reservoir outside the town of Chebarkul. The crash left an eight-meter (26-foot) -wide crater in the ice.
The shock wave blew in an estimated 100,000 square meters (more than 1 million square feet) of glass, according to city officials, who said 3,000 buildings in the city were damaged. At one zinc factory, part of the roof collapsed.
The Interior Ministry said about 1,100 people sought medical care after the shock wave and 48 of them were hospitalized. Most of the injuries were caused by flying glass, officials said.
There was no immediate word on any deaths or anyone struck by space fragments.
Meteors typically cause sizeable sonic booms when they enter the atmosphere because they are traveling so much faster than the speed of sound. Injuries on the scale reported Friday, however, are extraordinarily rare.
I went to see what that flash in the sky was about, recalled resident Marat Lobkovsky. And then the window glass shattered, bouncing back on me. My beard was cut open, but not deep. They patched me up. It's OK now.
Another resident, Valya Kazakov, said some elderly women in his neighborhood started crying out that the world was ending.
Russian-language hashtags for the meteorite quickly shot up into Twitter's top trends.
Lessons had just started at Chelyabinsk schools when the meteor exploded, and officials said 258 schoolchildren were among those injured. Amateur video footage showed a teacher speaking to her class as a powerful shockwave hit the room.
Yekaterina Melikhova, a high school student whose nose was bloody and whose upper lip was covered with a bandage, said she was in her geography class when a bright light flashed outside.
After the flash, nothing happened for about three minutes. Then we rushed outdoors. I was not alone, I was there with Katya. The door was made of glass, a shock wave made it hit us, she said.
Russian television ran footage of athletes at a city sports arena who were showered by shards of glass from huge windows. Some of them were still bleeding.
Other videos showed a long shard of glass slamming into the floor close to a factory worker and massive doors blown away by the shock wave.
The vast implosion of glass windows exposed many residents to the bitter cold as temperatures in the city were expected to plummet to minus 20 Celsius (minus 4 Fahrenheit) overnight.
The regional governor immediately urged any worker who can pane windows to rush to the area to help out.
The big tire thing!
This is about 4-5 years old but still funny as hell, didn't know were the video was for a while but Dennis had a copy of it on his computer so i figured i might as well put it up.

India, Pakistan Armies Dance Together On Bollywood Songs In Russia; Video Viral | ABP News
Indian and Pakistani soldiers who are participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s anti-terror drill, danced together on Tuesday night on popular Indian songs.
The rare sight of the rival armies reveling together was captured by ABP News.
Tuesday night was marked as “Bharatiya Diwas” at the SCO drills being held in Russia’s Chebarkul. The Indian Army had invited commanders of all the other armies.
As per the Indian tradition, the Chinese and Pakistani commanders were welcomed with a ‘tilak’ and ‘arti’. The commanders were also made to wear turbans.
After this the Indian soldiers presented a cultural performance.
Apart from Punjabi tracks, popular songs of dancer Sapna Chaudhary were also played at the ceremony and all the soldiers including those of Pakistan danced alike on the feet-tapping tracks.
Indian contingent commander Brigadier Vikas Lakhera said that India wants friendly terms with all the countries participating in the exercise which includes China, Pakistan and Russia among others.
In the anti-terror exercise of the Beijing based Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, eight countries have participated in the mock drill being held from August 22 to August 29.
It is aimed at expanding cooperation among the member countries to deal with the growing menace of terrorism and extremism.
India and Pakistan are participating in the drill for the first time since becoming full members of the SCO in June 2017.
