End of Life Choices in New York State that Permit a Patient Hastened Death
The second is on campus at the social work school on October 29th, , at 6pm, as part of a city-wide event called REIMAGINE END OF LIFE. The organizers have done this in other cities, and now it’s NYC’s turn. They plan to have over 200 events and ours would be one of them. Here's their website -
End of Life Choices in New York State that Permit a Patient-Hastened Death
Judith Schwarz, End of Life Choices New York Clinical Director
David Hoffman, Esq., lecturer in Bioethics at CUSPS
event page:
Palliative care can enable most people to die a peaceful death, but for a few people, it is not enough. This presentation will discuss two options in New York State that capacitated patients can use to control the circumstances and timing of death.
One of these options, Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking (VSED), is increasingly chosen by capable adults who are suffering unbearably despite good hospice or palliative symptom management. VSED is increasingly recognized by clinicians across the state as a legally and ethically appropriate end of life option for incurably or terminally ill adults who can make an informed choice to hasten their dying process. Another end of life choice has recently been proposed by End of Life Choices New York; it is a revolutionary approach to advance medical planning that limits the use of hand feeding in the event the patient is in an advanced state of dementia. Both of these options will be discussed with a view to the clinical issues and concerns these choices might cause.
SPS Bioethics Program Overview:
The Bioethics program at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies covers issues concerning the ethical, legal, and social implications of advances in biotechnology and biomedicine are increasingly arising both in the United States and abroad. From stem cell research to healthcare reform, these topics involve critical dilemmas at the intersections of law, society, culture, public policy, philosophy, religion, economics, and history.
Scientists, healthcare providers, and policy-makers confront how to approach these complex questions, yet scientific and technological advances have far outpaced our ability to understand or make key decisions about these issues.
The Master of Science in Bioethics, part of Columbia University’s Programs in Bioethics, which also include an Online Certification of Professional Achievement and Online Noncredit Courses, grounds students in historical, philosophical, legal, and social-scientific approaches and models to address bioethical challenges. The program prepares students to work in various capacities within this new and ever-growing field, and includes a concentration in global bioethics – the first of its kind in the United States.
Choose Options Online and On Campus
The program may be taken on a part-time or full-time basis, and students have the option of enrolling on Columbia’s campus in New York or online.
Online students use a highly collaborative and interactive social learning platform to connect with their instructors and fellow students. All online courses have weekly live web classroom meetings with their professors to enable dynamic interaction around course content. Additionally, students participate in discussion groups, collaborative and independent coursework, interactive forums, and prerecorded videos.
Our programs are designed for maximum flexibility, and students enrolled on campus or online have access to rigorous coursework, world-class instruction by Columbia faculty, career and professional development, and personal feedback on written assignments.
Depending on your interest and schedule, on-campus students may also take courses online. International students on a student visa who were planning to do so may only enroll in one online class each semester.
Switching between on-campus and online is possible. If you enroll in the online format, you can switch to the on-campus format after your first semester with administrative approval.
Note: International students who are interested in switching from online to on campus should consult with us about visa and other requirements as soon as possible in their decision making process. They will also need to consult with ISSO for detailed information related to visa requirements and CPT (Curriculum Practical Training) eligibility.

Last ever cannibal tribe | 60 Minutes Australia
This really is an adventure into the unknown. We're going back to the Stone Age on the trail of a long lost tribe, the last of the cannibals. And the amazing thing is this isn't ancient history. The tribe really does exist and not all that far from us - our next-door neighbours, really. Nevertheless, it'll take a major expedition to find them. They're called the Korowai and they live just as they did 10,000 years ago, deep in the jungles of West Papua. In 2006, our reporter Ben Fordham set out to search of the Korowai, these primitive warriors who have never seen a white man still believe in witchcraft and still eat human flesh

The Rolling Stones - Rare 1975 Footage Madison Square Garden New York City (New 2020 Edit)
The Rolling Stones - Rare 1975 Footage Madison Square Garden New York City (New 2020 Edit) Tracklist 01. T.V Report; 02. Brown Sugar (New 2020 Edit); 03. All Down The Line (New 2020 Edit) The Rolling Stones' Tour of the Americas '75 was a 1975 concert tour originally intended to reach both North and South America. The plans for concerts in Central and South America never solidified, however, and the tour covered only the United States and Canada. Start date was 1 June 1975 and the End date was 8 August 1975.History: After the departure of Mick Taylor, this was the Rolling Stones' first tour with new guitarist Ronnie Wood. Announced on 14 April as merely playing with the band on the tour, it would not be until 19 December that he would be officially named a Rolling Stone. Long-time sidemen Bobby Keys and Jim Price on brass were not featured on this tour, being replaced by Billy Preston on keyboards and Ollie E. Brown on percussion. Keys made a guest appearance on You Can't Always Get What You Want and Brown Sugar at the Los Angeles shows. The Tour of the Americas '75 was not tied to support of any newly released material, as it began more than seven months after the release of their last 1974 studio album at the time, It's Only Rock 'n Roll. Instead, the 1975 compilation album Made in the Shade was released to capitalize on the tour's publicity. The announcement of the tour became famous in itself. On 1 May, reporters were gathered inside the Fifth Avenue Hotel on 9th Street in New York City's Greenwich Village to attend a press conference where the Stones were scheduled to appear. But the Stones never went into the hotel. The handful of curiosity seekers standing outside the hotel – who'd heard a rumor of the press conference and who were hoping to catch a glimpse of the Stones entering the hotel – were instead treated to the sight of a flatbed truck rolling down Fifth Avenue carrying the Stones, their instruments and a wall of amps. The truck stopped in front of the hotel entrance and the band played an extended version of Brown Sugar. Charlie Watts had suggested this adaptation of a promotional gimmick often used by New Orleans jazz musicians; the idea was later emulated by groups like AC/DC and U2. After the Stones finished the song, the flatbed truck rolled down Fifth Avenue another block and the band jumped into limousines. They never attended the press conference. The mid-1970s were the era of extravagant stage shows, from the likes of Elton John, Alice Cooper, Kiss and Queen. In keeping with this, the Stones embraced a new format for the 1975 concerts. Their act was aided by theatrical stage props and gimmicks, including a giant inflatable phallus (nicknamed 'Tired Grandfather' by the band, since it sometimes malfunctioned) and, at some shows, an unfolding lotus flower-shaped stage that Charlie Watts had conceived. The tour officially began on 3 June 1975 at the Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas; however first the group played two warmup shows on 1 June at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The tour continued, playing mostly arenas in the United States and Canada, including six consecutive nights at Madison Square Garden in New York and five nights at The Forum in Los Angeles. However, a planned Latin American leg in Mexico, Brazil, and Venezuela for the balance of August was cancelled due to a combination of currency fluctuations and security concerns. Four additional US dates were then added, culminating in a final performance on 8 August at Rich Stadium near Buffalo, New York. The 1977 live album Love You Live has Fingerprint File and It's Only Rock 'n Roll from Toronto, 17 June 1975 and Sympathy for the Devil from Los Angeles, 9 July 1975. In 2012, the entire show from Los Angeles, 13 July 1975 was released as part of the 'Rolling Stones Archive'; mixed and remastered by Bob Clearmountain. This show was previously available in excellent audience quality on the 'LA Friday' bootleg. The title is a reference to a Rolling Stone review of the Friday, 11 July 1975 show, even though the actual featured show was from Sunday, 13 July.

Free State Project Early Movers: FSP President Carla Gericke
— Carla Gericke was born in South Africa, and moved to the United States after winning a green card in a lottery. She practiced law as in-house counsel for Fortune 500 companies in Silicon Valley before completing her Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing at City College of New York. Gericke and her husband Louis moved to New Hampshire from New York for the Free State Project in February 2008.
Turning her attention and energy to liberty activism, Gericke performed a great deal of volunteer work for the FSP, ultimately becoming the group's president in 2011. She also organized the Porcupine Freedom Festival (aka PorcFest)—one of the world’s largest liberty gatherings—in 2009 and 2010.
In 2014, Carla Gericke won a landmark First Circuit Court of Appeals case affirming the 1st Amendment right to film police encounters, while also removing the potential for police to claim qualified immunity as a defense for violating this right. Based on a previous ruling, Glik v. Cunniffe, the court found that Gericke’s right to film the officers was established at the time of her arrest. She was represented by another FSP early mover: attorney Seth Hipple from the Law Offices of Martin & Hipple, P.L.L.C.

SR# 1271 NBC Crew - Crooked Hillary’s MASSIVE MELTDOWN at Commander-in-Chief Forum
Visit our website now: - considered by informed insiders’ as THE ultimate resource for fixing the National Debt problem and surviving Economic or Financial Collapse/Crash and attaining the unvarnished truth about Washington and today’s United States Political Climate.
Good afternoon, I’m still reporting on
NBC Crew - Crooked Hillary’s Massive Meltdown at Sept. 7th Forum
Remember the Sept. 7 Commander-in-Chief Forum where Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton appeared separately but back-to-back for 30 minutes each?
According to an email forwarded to us late last night, which originated from a Comcast email address, the technical crew for NBC which produced the event is now speaking out about what took place moments after Clinton walked off the set – a massive profanity-laced tirade aimed at NBC’s host, Matt Lauer.
It turned out that Clinton had been fed all the questions for approval in advance of the forum.
But then, after the approval, Matt Lauer had had a change of heart and he started his questioning with an unapproved line concerning Clinton’s use of an illegal private server for her sometimes classified, work-related emails.
According to a Comcast official (the parent company of NBC Universal) who apparently was quoting those on the set:
“When Matt posed the one legitimate question about the FBI investigation concerning her homemade server and the unsecured emails, we could see she was beginning to boil.”
According to an NBC Associate Producer of the Forum, as soon as Clinton got off the set, she exploded.
“Hillary proceeded to pick up a full glass of water and throw it at the face of her assistant, and the screaming started.”
“She was in a full meltdown and no one on her staff dared speak with her – she went kind of manic and didn't have any control over herself at that point.”
“How these people work with this woman is amazing to me. She really didn't seem to care who heard any of it.”
“You really had to see this to believe it. She came apart – literally unglued; she is the most foul-mouthed woman I’ve ever heard … and that voice at screech level … awful!”
“She screamed she’d get that f…..ing Lauer fired for this.”
Referring to Donald Trump, Clinton said:
“If that f - - - ing bastard wins, we all hang from nooses! Lauer’s finished...and if I lose it’s all on your heads for screwing this up.”
So, Crooked Hillary fears the gallows, eh? Interesting.
Her dozen or more aides were visibly disturbed and tried to calm her down when she started shaking uncontrollably, as she screamed to get an executive at Comcast the parent company of NBC Universal, on the phone. Then, two rather large aides grabbed her and helped her walk to her car.
Matt Lauer was massively criticized for the rest of the week on air by the Clinton campaign and the rest of the MSM as having conducted:
“an unfair and partisan attack on Clinton.”
According to the email, calls were made to the New York Times, the Washington Post, Huffington Post and Twitter executives with orders to crush Matt Lauer.
One staffer on the Clinton campaign told the NBC staff that they all fear Clinton’s wrath and uncontrollable outbursts, and one described Hillary as “an egotistical psychopath.”
Since Hillary does not allow any staff to have cell phones when she is in their presence, no footage is available.
Interim DNC chairman Donna Brazile, the first black woman to hold the position, was singled out by Hillary during the rant. She screamed at Donna:
“I’m so sick of your face. You stare at the wall like a brain dead buffalo, while letting that f - - - ing Lauer get away with this. What are you good for, really? Get the f - - - to work janitoring this mess - do I make myself clear?”
A female NBC executive said that Donna Brazile looked at Mrs. Clinton and never flinched, which seemed to enrage Hillary all the more. The executive continued:
“It was the most awful and terrible...and racist display – such a profane meltdown I have ever witnessed from anyone, and I will never forget it.
“That woman should never see the inside of the oval office I can tell you that. She was unhinged and just continued to verbally abuse everyone – she was out of control.”
Why did Lauer ask his rogue question? According to sources close to Lauer, because:
“… the American people deserve an answer from the former Secretary of State.”
I’m still reporting from Washington. Good Day.
