On top of the World Trade Center 2001
Amazing video footage i took at the world trade center from the ground, observation deck and roof in the summer of 2001. I hope you like it and thanks for watching. I have also uploaded my video with extra footage and added music. Here is the link and i hope you like it.
Although most of the space in the World Trade Center complex was off-limits to the public, the South Tower featured an indoor and outdoor public observation area called Top of the World Trade Center Observatories on its 107th and 110th floors.
The original World Trade Center was a complex with seven buildings featuring landmark twin towers in Lower Manhattan, New York City, United States. The complex opened on April 4, 1973, and was destroyed in 2001 during the September 11 attacks. The site is currently being rebuilt with five new skyscrapers and a memorial to the casualties of the attacks. As of November 2011, only one skyscraper has been completed, with four more expected to be completed before 2020. One World Trade Center will be the lead building for the new complex and is expected to be finished by 2013. A sixth tower is still awaiting confirmation to be built. At the time of their completion, the original 1 and 2 World Trade Center were the tallest buildings in the world.
The complex was designed in the early 1960s by Minoru Yamasaki and Associates of Troy, Michigan, and Emery Roth and Sons of New York.[2] The twin 110-story towers used a tube-frame structural design. To gain approval for the project, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey agreed to take over the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad, which became the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH). Groundbreaking for the World Trade Center took place on August 5, 1966. The North Tower (1) was completed in December 1972 and the South Tower (2) was finished in July 1973. The construction project involved excavating a large amount of material, which was later used as landfill to build Battery Park City on the west side of Lower Manhattan. The cost for the construction was $400 million ($2,200,000,000 in 2011 dollars).[3] The complex was located in the heart of New York City's downtown financial district and contained 13.4 million square feet (1.24 million m2) of office space.[4][5] The Windows on the World restaurant was located on the 106th and 107th floors of 1 World Trade Center (the North Tower) while the Top of the World observation deck was located on the 107th floor of 2 World Trade Center (the South Tower). Other World Trade Center buildings included the Marriott World Trade Center; 4 World Trade Center; 5 World Trade Center; 6 World Trade Center, which housed the United States Customs. All of these buildings were built between 1975 and 1981. The final building constructed was 7 World Trade Center, which was built in 1985. The second King Kong was filmed in 1976 with some scenes mentioning and showing the World Trade Center. The World Trade Center experienced a fire on February 13, 1975, and a bombing on February 26, 1993. In 1998, the Port Authority decided to privatize the World Trade Center, leasing the buildings to a private company to manage, and awarded the lease to Silverstein Properties in July 2001.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, Al-Qaeda-affiliated hijackers flew two 767 jets into the complex, one into each tower, in a coordinated terrorist attack. After burning for 56 minutes, the South Tower (2) collapsed, followed a half-hour later by the North Tower (1), with the attacks on the World Trade Center resulting in 2,753 deaths.[6] 7 World Trade Center collapsed later in the day and the other buildings, although they did not collapse, had to be demolished because they were damaged beyond repair. The process of cleanup and recovery at the World Trade Center site took eight months. The first new building at the site was 7 World Trade Center, which opened in May 2006. The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC), established in November 2001 to oversee the rebuilding process, organized competitions to select a site plan and memorial design. Memory Foundations, designed by Daniel Libeskind, was selected as the master plan, which included the 1,776-foot (541 m) One World Trade Center, three office towers along Church Street and a memorial designed by Michael Arad. #911 #NewYork #2001

Chicago 4K - Night Drive - Driving Downtown
Thursday night drive around downtown Chicago. Video starts along the Chicago River along Wacker Drive, continues to State Street, then to the Magnificent Mile Michigan Avenue, passes under the popular Chicago Loop subway network, and completes along the Theater District. Enjoy!
Chicago is the 2nd most visited city in the US, with 58 million domestic and international visitors in 2018, behind New York City's approximate 65 million visitors. Chicago is the third most populous city in the United States. With an estimated population of 2,705,994 (2018), it is the most populous city in the Midwest. Chicago is the principal city of the Chicago metropolitan area, often referred to as Chicagoland, and the county seat of Cook County, the second most populous county in the United States. The metropolitan area, at nearly 10 million people, is the third-largest in the United States.
Located on the shores of freshwater Lake Michigan, Chicago was incorporated as a city in 1837 near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watershed and grew rapidly in the mid-19th century. After the Chicago Fire of 1871, which left more than 100,000 homeless, the city made a concerted effort to rebuild. The construction boom accelerated population growth throughout the following decades, and by 1900 Chicago was the fifth largest city in the world. Chicago made noted contributions to urban planning and zoning standards, including new construction styles (including the Chicago School of architecture), the development of the City Beautiful Movement, and the steel-framed skyscraper.
Chicago is an international hub for finance, culture, commerce, industry, technology, telecommunications, and transportation. It is the site of the creation of the first standardized futures contracts at the Chicago Board of Trade, which today is the largest and most diverse derivatives market globally, generating 20% of all volume in commodities and financial futures. O'Hare International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and the region also has the largest number of U.S. highways and greatest amount of railroad freight. In 2012, Chicago was listed as an alpha global city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, and it ranked seventh in the entire world in the 2017 Global Cities Index. The Chicago area has one of the highest gross domestic products (GDP) in the world, generating $680 billion in 2017. In addition, the city has one of the world's most diversified and balanced economies, not being dependent on any one industry, with no single industry employing more than 14% of the workforce.
The city ranked first place in the 2018 Time Out City Life Index, a global quality of life survey of 15,000 people in 32 cities. The city is also home to several fortune 500 companies, the most notable being, Allstate, Boeing, Exelon, McDonald's, Quaker Oats, and United Airlines Holdings. Landmarks in the city include Millennium Park, Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum Campus, the Willis (Sears) Tower, Grant Park (Chicago), the Museum of Science and Industry, and Lincoln Park Zoo. Chicago's culture includes the visual arts, literature, film, theater, comedy (especially improvisational comedy), food, and music, particularly jazz, blues, soul, hip-hop, gospel, and electronic dance music including house music. Of the area's many colleges and universities, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago are classified as highest research doctoral universities. Chicago has professional sports teams in each of the major professional leagues, including two Major League Baseball teams.
SCARIEST Abandoned Places in Europe
From entire towns that were abandoned in a matter of days to eerie forts in the middle of the ocean here’s some of the scariest places in Europe that have, for one reason or another, been permanently deserted by humans.

7. Skrunda 1
During the Cold War the Soviets erected a number of secret cities that were constructed for various military reasons. Skrunda 1 in Latvia is a prime example of one of these communities kept under locks. Built in 1963 it was once a base home to 5,000 personnel. The site’s goal was to look for incoming missiles from Western Europe using its two giant radar installations. Dozens of buildings used to comprise Skrunda 1 including a school, barracks and factories. The Soviets were asked to leave in 1994 with a 4 year grace period. When they finally vacated in 1998 the Latvians tore down one of the radar towers in celebration of the Soviets leaving. The rest of the base was left to be picked apart for scraps and decay.
6. Craco
Found on a map at the instep of Italy’s boot, Craco has become a popular tourist attraction due to it's spooky abandoned state. The town had been inhabited for thousands of years starting, apparently, with the Greeks. Finally, a landslide that can likely be attributed to the installation of infrastructure like sewage and water systems forced the residents to relocate in the 1960’s. Thanks to it's unique, awe inspiring appearance the site has appeared in several movies including the Passion of the Christ and Quantum of Solace.
5. Kopachi
This small village is located near the aforementioned Chernobyl. The village was contaminated by fallout from the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 and was subsequently abandoned. Due to fear that if the buildings were lit on fire then more radioactive isotopes would be released into the atmosphere, the government decided to bulldoze the structures and bury them directly in front of where they stood. Today only a few buildings, like a former kindergarten remain along with a series of mounds.
4. Reschen (res chen)
If you didn’t know why Reschen was ultimately abandoned and you walked up to it, you might chuckle. That’s because the town is currently, and has been for years, under Lake Reschen and all that’s visible is a steeple from a submerged 14th century church. Despite resistance from residence a dam was created, causing the formation of the lake in 1950. Angry, sullen residence left, and a total of 163 homes and nearly 1300 acres of cultivated land were submerged. Today the lake is famous for that old steeple, which can be reached on foot when the lake freezes over in the winter time.
3. Chatterley Whitfield Colliery (kol yuh ree)
This abandoned coal mine sits on the outskirts of an area in England known as Stoke-on-Trent. In it's heyday it became the first colliery in the United Kingdom to produce one million tons of saleable coal in a single year. It was also the site of the 1881 Pit Disaster, during which a serious fire and explosion would result in the loss of 24 lives. After it stopped producing coal it was used as a popular underground museum before that closed for good in 1993.
2. Teufelsberg
Teufelsberg, German for Devil's Mountain is a manmade hill in Berlin, or what was formerly West Berlin. The Nazi’s started building a military technical college on the land that the hill now occupies. The Allies subsequently tried to demolish the building during World War 2, however, the school was so sturdy that they decided it would be easier to cover it with debris instead. During the Cold War the United States National Security Agency built a listening station on the hill which is what those big, ugly white bulbs are. Today the hill is 394 feet high and still covers the remains of that old Nazi school. Meanwhile the radio tower is, as you can see, abandoned and out of use besides being taken advantage of occasionally as a filming location.
Congratulations on making it to nearly the end of this video brave subscribers and viewers. We couldn’t make countdown’s like this without you guys so we’d like to thank everyone for watching. And now
1. Hartwood Mental Hospital
Though it may look like a giant castle, this is Hartwood Mental Hospital. Found in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, Hartwood first opened it's doors to patients in the 1890’s. The psychiatric hospital was completely self sustaining, with it's own farm, gardens, cemetery, railway line, and power plant. It was a popular and often overcrowded hospital throughout its history until more modern psychiatric therapies and care techniques led to it's closure in the late 1990’s. Today the crumbling building and it's imposing twin clock towers are a sought after site for urban explorers.

Nassau County is a suburban county on Long Island in the U.S. state of New York. At the 2010 census, the county's population was 1,339,532, estimated to have increased to 1,358,627 in 2014. The county seat is located in the Village of Garden City, within the boundaries of the Mineola 11501 zip code. The name of the county comes from an old name for Long Island, which was at one time named Nassau, after the Dutch Prince William of Nassau, a member of the House of Nassau, itself named for the German town Nassau. The county colors are also the colors of the House of Orange-Nassau.
Nassau County is located immediately east of New York City, within the New York-Newark-Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county is one of the four counties that occupy Long Island, together with Suffolk County to its immediate east and Queens and Kings counties to the west, which correspond, respectively, to the New York City boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn. Two cities, three towns, 64 incorporated villages, and more than 60 unincorporated hamlets are located within the county. There are 56 public school districts within the county. Post office districts and school districts use the same names as a city, hamlet, or village within them, but each sets the boundaries independently.

Veronica Juyoun Byun Common Ground - Uncommon Visions at hpgrp Gallery June 2012.AVI
Loveed Fine Arts is pleased to present in collaboration with hpgrp Gallery New York
VERONICA JUYOUN BYUN
Common Ground -- Uncommon Visions
Exhibition dates: June 7 - July 14, 2012
Opening reception: Thursday, June 7, 6-8 pm at hpgrp Gallery NY, 529 West 20
th Street
Gallery Hours: Tues-Sat 11 am-6 pm
The first solo exhibition in New York of Korean-born sculptor Veronica Juyoun Byun will be on view at hpgrp Gallery, NY at 529 West 20th Street from June 7 through July 14, 2012. Common Ground -- Uncommon Visions will feature seven large wall reliefs as well as intimate-sized figures and abstract constructions. Veronica Byun was born in Seoul, Korea, but has spent the better part of her adult life studying in the United States and this East/West divide has fueled a diverse visual culture and provided fodder for her visions as a young sculptor.
Borrowing visual themes from traditional ornamental craft geometries and color, Byun playfully expands and layers them into bursting and bubbling abstractions that dazzle the eye. It is clear from this exhibition that Byun embraces color and unabashedly shiny surfaces, which is somewhat rare in contemporary ceramics. Primary colors are deeply rooted in Korean and Buddhist traditions as sources of protection and enduring paradise on earth, and are at play here in Byun's work. She seemingly stirs up her sources, and like most post-modern American artists, creates her own visual vocabulary. Separate but playfully equal are Byun's choices for titles. Misty Dawn, Serenity after Sunset, and Shimmering Sea at Sunset suggest naturalistic themes while Lotus Saint Prayer, Passion Series, and Exotica seemingly bow respectfully to the spirituality and the meditative state practiced by Zen masters. My Shoes contains a certain pop art quality in its serial imagery of common objects. Passion Series #1 and Exotica are composed of abstract nests of forms, charged with an array of colors, as if their components were dashed against the wall or floor and are suddenly blossoming in the artists' own garden of delight. Byun's ever modular large scale wall works can ambitiously stretch out in unlimited formations or can contract to accommodate an appropriate wall space, says Ronald Kuchta, former director of the Everson Museum and a current ceramic curator. This format bringing together traditional and non-traditional schemes and symbols confers a certain metaphorical aspect to Byun's work as if the artist is on a journey to investigate the human condition.
Byun currently lives and works in New Jersey. She received her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI and her BFA from the New York State of Ceramics at Alfred University in Alfred, NY. She has exhibited both nationally and
internationally in galleries and public institutions in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Providence, Seoul, Varazdin, Croatia, Austria, and in Dae-Jeon City, Korea. She was recently selected in the Special Exhibition Artists Entries at the 2012 Korean Art Show in New York and has been invited to exhibit at the upcoming Special Exhibition at KIAF2012 in Korea. Byun's alluringly erotic installation, Memoirs of a Lady will be featured in the Visual Art Fellowship Awards Exhibition at The Noyes Museum of Art, Oceanville, NJ from June 8 through September 9, 2012. Her work can also be found in numerous private and
corporate collections including the recently large scale commissioned murals in the collection of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
