Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written
language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:

SUMMARY
=======
Spanish Jews once constituted one of the largest and most prosperous Jewish communities in the world. Spain was the unquestioned leader of world Jewry: scientific and philological study of the Hebrew Bible began, Hebrew was used for the first time for secular poetry, and for the only time between Biblical times and the origins of the modern state of Israel, a Jew (Samuel ha-Nagid) commanded a Jewish army. This period ended definitively with the anti-Jewish riots of 1391 and Alhambra Decree of 1492, as a result of which the majority of Jews in Spain (between 200,000 and 250,000) converted to Catholicism and those remaining (between 40,000 and 100,000) were forced into exile.
An estimated 13,000 to 50,000 Jews live in Spain today, concentrated in the provinces of Malaga, Madrid and Barcelona as well as having a historic presence in the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla. A significant portion of these are Spanish-speaking Jews who returned to Spain after centuries of exile in northern Morocco during and after the Spanish protectorate. Ashkenazi Jews, primarily from Latin America but also of European origin are also present in Spain.

Inka Engineering Symposium 3: Cusco, Inka Capital: Planning and Construction
In Part 3 of Engineering the Inka Empire: A Symposium on Sustainability and Ancient Technologies, Crayla Alfaro Aucca, José Alejandro Beltrán-Caballero, Ricardo Mar present Cusco, Inka Capital: Planning and Construction. Cusco is crucial to the understanding of the Inka plan of imperial integration. The Inka Road, or Qhapaq Ñan, diverged out from Cusco to integrate the four corners of Tawantinsuyu, the Inka Empire. This interdisciplinary team discusses major new research on Inka urbanism to understand the cosmological and physical plan and construction of the imperial City of Cusco, systematically transformed and mostly destroyed after the Spanish arrival in 1533. New empirical and technical data clarify interpretations of how Inka engineers successfully solved actual construction problems, management of local, human, and natural resources, and how the application of common sense can evolve into engineering knowledge.
Crayla Alfaro Aucca is an architect with a graduate degree in Cultural Heritage Management. Her research focuses on the historical evolution of the City of Cusco. As manager of the historic section of the Provincial Municipality of Cusco, Alfaro promotes the development of research projects and dissemination of the cultural heritage of the historic City of Cusco. She has participated in the management and urban renewal of public spaces and housing in the historic section of Cusco. Alfaro is also responsible for the editorial direction of the Municipality. She has published the following books (in Spanish): Cusco monumental: Ombligo del mundo; Machu Picchu santuario del cusco: Cien años para el mundo; Cusco monumental: Ombligo del mundo II; Antología quechua del Cusco: Qosqo Quechwasimipi Akllasqa Rimaykuna; Cusco: Identidad y desarrollo, and Cusco y la herencia del barroco andino. (Crayla was unable to present at the symposium.)
José Alejandro Beltrán Caballero holds a PhD in Architecture and is an Associate Researcher of the Seminar on Ancient Topography at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. Specializing in Landscape Interpretation and Ancient Cities, Dr. Beltrán Caballero has collaborated on projects to virtually reconstruct archaeological sites in Europe (Tarragona and Rome) and in South America (Cusco).
Ricardo Mar is a Professor of Classical Archaeology at Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona, Spain. Holding graduate degrees in architecture (PhD, 1988), he specializes in ancient Roman urbanism, with major archaeological field experience in Rome and in Tarragona. He has been involved in restoration projects and patrimony assessments in Italy, France, Portugal, and Spain, including as director of the reconstruction project on Tarraco, the ancient Roman city beneath modern Tarragona.
This symposium was webcast on November 14, 2013 from the Rasmuson Theater at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.

Polikarpov I-180-3 - Rechlin Skunkwerks Report
Here she is, the Polikarpov Super Donkey. Historically the aircraft was a proposed upgrade to the Polikarpov I-16, which had been in service with the Red Air Force prior to the Spanish Civil War and was in need of replacement by the time Operation Barbarossa was underway. The I-16 was hopelessly outmatched and obsolete compared to the German Bf 109 and 110s invading the skies of Mother Russia. Polikarpov, attempting to take the most economical route in upgrading the Red Airforce, decided to see if the elderly I-16's useful lifecycle could be extended by modernizing as much as possible while still retaining as much of the old mass produced airframe as possible. The I-180-3 did perform admirably in tests, but the changes to the interior of the airframe, the new engine and new guns would mean that all I-16s then in service would have to be completely rebuilt and the I-16 production plants taken offline for a complete rework to produce what was in effect a completely new aircraft.
The project was cancelled and new aircraft design and production was moved away from Polikarpov and more resources were given to Lavochkin, Yakovlev and Mikoyan-Gurevich for producing the aircraft of a modernised Red Air Force. Thus ended the I-180-3's footnote in history and with it the influence of the Polikarpov design bureau.
In game the Super Donkey is very much like an I-16 moved up to tier V. Similarities are an insane roll rate and pitch ability compared to her peers, and while the Super Donkey is faster than the 16 she is still slower than almost everything else she will encounter. Her guns have been moved entirely into the nose of the aircraft, so her firing pattern is much tighter than those of her early cousins, allowing for excellent damage output at close range even without having heavy cannons. If you intend to fly this bird, make certain to keep your evasion abilities sharp as she is fairly light on health and while her engine and pilot are better protected than those on the 16 she still can't take solid punishment without *something* breaking. But for a pilot with their head on a swivel and excellent aim and situational awareness this aircraft is a terribly fun thing to fly and can give your enemy fits while they try to get a good lead on you.
Good hunting!

La Liga players arrested for match fixing
Spanish national police announced Tuesday that they expect to arrest 11 different people, including current and former La Liga players, in an operation against match-fixing in the country’s professional soccer leagues.
In what they’re calling operation “Oikos,” police say they also plan to arrest active second-division players as well as club presidents and managers. The investigation has reportedly allowed police to look into uncover agreements with players to fix at least three games in the Spanish first, second and third divisions.
None of the players have yet been named.
One of the second-division games investigated reportedly had betting companies see a volume of bets 14 times higher than usual at that level.
According to ESPN, the operation stems from a claim filed by La Liga that alleged irregularities during a game last season between SD Huesca and Nastic Tarragona in the Segunda Division. Huesca, which had already won promotion to La Liga, lost 1-0 to a Nastic team near relegation.
Nearly 30 betting companies reportedly suspended all bets for that game after detecting a large amount of money being placed on bets for a scoreless first half and Nastic win. Eyebrows were also reportedly raised when large bets came in from Ukraine and Asia.
None of the biggest La Liga teams seem to implicated in this investigation.
