Flight Path:
Our flight today begins with a short drive into Los Angeles International Airport. We stop briefly at the In-n-Out Burger to watch the planes landing, before making our way to the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT).
We check in at the Air France area and then make our way to the TSA Security checkpoint. From there we head airside towards our gate where our aircraft is waiting - the huge Airbus A380 that will take us across the Atlantic this evening.
We suffer a delay of around an hour due to a specific security threat that has been received to our flight. We have to wait while FBI sniffer dogs search the aircraft, but thankfully nothing is found and we’re able to eventually board. We take the escalator to the second floor to be able to board the upper deck of the huge A380. We board through the forward doors making our way through the aircraft’s business class and premium economy to our section of economy at the rear of the aircraft, taking our seat in seat 93L.
We soon begin our pushback as the sun sets over California, and taxi out with a police escort to runway 24L. We make a beautiful departure into the sunset getting a stunning view of Los Angeles lit up below. We make our way across the US towards Canada under darkness, getting views of many major cities. We cross the coast into the Atlantic just north of Labrador City, Canada, before passing to the south of Greenland where the sun rises.
We get some great views of the contrails forming as we cruise at a level of 39,000ft towards Ireland. We cross the Irish Sea towards South Wales, making a left turn towards London before turning right and crossing the English Channel towards France.
We commence our descent into a rainy Paris, saying goodbye to the beautiful weather above the clouds and hello to a gloomy rainy day. We make a trademark hard landing on runway 26L at Charles-de-Gaulle. We taxi into the beautiful Terminal 2E before disembarking and making our way towards flight connections for our onward flight back to the UK.

The landing in London was scheduled for just before sunset . But the departure was delayed 1 hour 20 minutes because of the return to the parking of the plane to disembark 2 passengers on the previous flight.
As a result, the take-off and landing were at night. no visibility ... Sorry for that

Our journey today begins in Paris Charles-de-Gaulle's Terminal 2E Satellite Pier S2 where we board our ride today, brand new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner F-HRBA. We soon push back and head to runway 08L. We make a beautiful departure to the west, heading towards Reims before turning southeast, climbing to our initial cruising altitude of 37,000ft. We fly towards Switzerland, flying overhead Basel and Zurich before crossing the Alps and overhead Venice, Italy.
From there it's down Croatia's Adriatic coast as the sun sets in the west, we then cross Albania and Greece flying overhead Athens before crossing the Mediterranean. We pass to the east of the island of Crete and eventually cross the Egyptian coastline east of Alexandria. We descend in the darkness, making a left turn over Cairo and and approach from the southwest, touching down smoothly on runway 06C, and taxying into the terminal.

Air France Full Flight Paris CDG to Amsterdam schiphol
After landing from St Martin it was time to take a very short connection from 2E to 2F (or the other way around) terminal at charles de gualle. Had to go through immigration and security within 1 hour. Very close final people were boarding.
Aircraft was delayed to wait for connecting passengers anyway.
Air France Flight AF1301 Madrid Barajas - Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
Trip report of my flight with Air France from Madrid Barajas Airport to Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport. The flight was operated with Airbus A321 aircraft and the flight duration was about 1hr 30 mins. All in all, Air France offers quite good service ... well .... except when the pilots are on strike :-) Enjoy in HD!
Air France Boeing 787-9 | London Heathrow to Paris CDG *FULL FLIGHT*
So directly a month later, I return to give it a shot at flying with Air France to Paris. However this flight was of no charges at all, thanks to the wonderful customer service at Air France, who kindly gave us a free return flight with premium economy seats, due to not getting the 787 the last time we flew, which if you weren't aware, we originally went to fly on the Dreamliner on the 16th February, but due to the aircraft going tech the result was (What is now extremely rare for LHR) an Air France 777-200(ER). This time however, the 787 is healthy again, and flying 6x a week from LHR-CDG. For pilot training/aircraft familiarisation until 26th October 2017. If you want to fly on this aircraft, I recommend it, the fares are not even expensive! Something like £36 one way!
In review, it was a pleasant flight with Air France. The aircraft however was late leaving Paris. Scheduled to land at London Heathrow at 7:45, instead landing at 8:45, which resulted in our departure becoming impaled. We departed 1hr 10 minutes later than scheduled. I wasn't complaining though, it just meant by time we got to Paris we didn't have much time before our return flight.
The cabin crew were very joyful to be in our service to, very friendly set of staff. Premium economy seats were on point, nice recliner seats, tray table and IFE screen stored in arm rest, free set of Air France branded earphones, a little reading light attached to the seat, and like everyone else free snack and drink onboard. Which today, I had a croissant and water. One feature I did find interesting was the ability to alter the tint of the windows, I thought that was really cool. However I did notice the 787 did lack the window blinds, which could of been handy when filming into the bright sunlight on landing.
I highly recommend doing this short flight, even if it is about 45 minutes, its a great opportunity of a few to fly on a 787 on a short haul route. Keep an eye out for my return flight on another unique aircraft, one not too common now around the world. The Airbus A318, commonly referred to as the babybus.
