we went to sacramento recently for a birthday party of a friend and while we were there we got to take in some of the sights and this was just one of them .. Folsom Prison home to some 3000 and the California State Prison next door with another 3000 convicts its pretty intense place just to visit but still a pretty cool thing to do ll .. got the shirt done that ..

Folsom Prison Museum; Represa, California
Also known as the Big House Prison Museum, this museum is located just inside the prison yard at Folsom State Prison. It carries historical artifacts from Folsom as well as other state prisons.
Folsom State Prison was one of the first maximum security state prisons in the nation. It was built in the decades following the 1848 California Gold Rush to relieve overcrowding at San Quentin State Prison north of San Francisco.
Today, Folsom State Prison primarily houses medium security inmates and shares the general area with the New Folsom State Prison, re-named California State Prison Sacramento County.
