Grocery Shopping in Beijing | Walmart CHINA
This is what you can buy in Walmart, China. Come grocery shopping with me in Beijing! Ep 36⬇See more below⬇
It's my second day in Beijing, China, so I needed to do some grocery shopping in Beijing. I checked the map and I found a Walmart nearby my place. This Walmart is quite small, but I was happy that it was open even on the Chinese New Year Eve.
Walmart China is basically like any other grocery store in China. You can buy anything from electronics to clothing and from cleaning supplies to food. My favourite grocery store in China is actually Carrefour, but it was too far away from my home, so I just went to check out this Walmart.
I am so excited to move back to Beijing and start my new life in China! I have lived in Beijing twice before so third time is the charm. I will be working here probably for 3-4 years as an expat. So, get ready for lots of China-related content!

Why I Moved to China? First Impressions of Beijing | Life in China
I have a chat with you about why I moved to China and what my first impressions of Beijing are on my arrival day. Ep 35⬇See more below⬇
I am so excited to move back to Beijing and start my new life in China! I have lived in Beijing twice before so third time is the charm. I will be working here probably for 3-4 years as an expat. So, get ready for lots of China-related content!
Having travelled from Helsinki, Finland, to Beijing, China, I was quite tired after staying awake for around 24 hours. Maybe because of that and also because of my expectations and previous experience in China, I was not expecting things to be the way I found them to be. Some things had changed since I last time lived here, but some things had not changed (or at least not for the better) that I had expected to change. Also, my new apartment was not exactly what I had expected for.

I Went to a Chinese Fortune Teller | Year of the Pig | Life in China
I went to a Chinese fortune teller to ask about my luck for the year of the pig. Ep 39⬇See more below⬇
This video is the second part of my Guangxi China travel videos. It was the last weekend of Chinese new year, which marks the Lantern Festival, so I travelled to Guangxi, China for a weekend. Guangxi is a province in South of China. Guangxi is famous for beautiful landscapes, especially those round-shaped mountains or hills.
On my second day in Guangxi I went to see a Chinese fortune teller. I had never been to a fortune teller before. I wish I could have filmed the visit to a fortune teller, but unfortunately it was not possible. However, I can tell it was definitely a memorable experience to get your fortune told by a Chinese fortune teller in Chinese language. Actually, the fortune teller used both Cantonese and Mandarin, so it was quite confusing and I had hard time understanding anything. :D
I was very nervous to visit a fortune teller in Guangxi. I was so sure of getting bad luck. I first had to shake a number out of a box. I got the number 88 and number eight is a lucky number in China, so I knew then that the prediction cannot be too bad. Indeed, I the fortune teller promised me the best of luck for the year of the pig 2019. Everything was good fortune, career, love, health. After visiting the Chinese fortune teller I felt relieved, happy and amused. It was definitely an experience I will remember long.
The Chinese fortune tellers can be usually found nearby temples because I guess their work is considered spiritual and they are serving the same needs what people have when they visit a temple. So was this fortune teller as well. We found her in the Golden Cock Rock Temple, which is located literally on a rock. You have to take a short ferry trip to the temple island, and then climb several floors or steps before you reach the highest temple of them all. There, inside the temple we found the fortune teller. We paid respects to the temple and then consulted the fortune teller. When you visit a Chinese fortune teller, they usually will ask you about your Chinese zodiac sign (Chinese horoscope) and the year and the month when you are born.
After visiting the temple island we went to have dinner and did some shopping. I bought myself new sneakers. On our last day I didn't film much, but I wanted to show you the local delicacy of Guangxi province namely the steamed rice noodle roll.
This video finishes my trip to Guangxi, China.

The Beijing Central Business District, or Beijing CBD , is the primary area for finance, media, and business services in Beijing, China.
Beijing CBD occupies 3.99 km2 of the Chaoyang District on the east side of the city. Geographically situated to the east of the city center, sandwiched between the 3rd Ring Road and the 4th Ring Road, the Beijing CBD is currently undergoing large-scale development.
As Beijing is becoming one of the most important international financial centers in China, Beijing CBD was recently positioned as the secondary core area in Beijing's International Financial Center Development strategic plan published in May, 2008. Beijing CBD is also emerging as China's media center as Beijing Television Station (BTV) just moved in its new headquarters (Beijing TV Centre) in this area and the new CCTV Headquarters was officially opened on 15 June 2008 night.
In the eight years since the government decided to speed up construction of the district, the Beijing CBD has attracted 117 Fortune 500 businesses in the financial, media, information technology, consulting and service industries. More than 60 percent of overseas-funded companies in Beijing are in the CBD. A majority of foreign embassies in Beijing - the No 1, No 2 and No 3 embassy districts are now concentrated in the Beijing CBD and its neighboring areas.
The Beijing CBD Administrative Committee, established in 2001, is in charge of planning and management and aims to facilitate investments and improve the work environment for professionals. The committee provides information to investors on laws, taxes and state policies as well as a one-stop service, which has simplified approval procedures and raised efficiency.
The establishment of the Beijing CBD Chamber of Finance, the Beijing CBD Chamber of Media Industry and Beijing CBD Association of Property Management & Real Estate Development has facilitated communication and cooperation between the government and enterprises. The Beijing CBD International Business Festival and Beijing CBD International Forum have put the Beijing CBD on the map worldwide.
CITIC Tower is a supertall skyscraper in the Central Business District of Beijing. It is popularly known as China Zun and IPA pronunciation. The 109-storey, 528 m (1,732 ft) building is the tallest in the city, surpassing that of the China World Trade Center Tower III by 190 metres. On August 18, 2016, CITIC Tower surpassed China World Trade Center Tower III in height, becoming Beijing's tallest building. The tower structurally topped out on July 9, 2017, fully topped out on August 18, 2017, and was completed in late 2018 making CITIC Tower the tallest completed building of 2018.
The nickname China Zun comes from the zun, an ancient Chinese wine vessel which inspired the building design, according to the developers, the CITIC Group. The groundbreaking ceremony of the building took place in Beijing on September 19, 2011 and the constructors expect to finish the project within five years. CITIC Tower is Northern China's third tallest building after Goldin Finance 117 and Chow Tai Fook Binhai Center in Tianjin.
Farrells produced the tower's land bid concept design, with Kohn Pedersen Fox assuming the project and completing a 14-month-long concept design process after the client had won the bid.
China Zun Tower is a mixed-use building, featuring 60 floors of office space, 20 floors of luxury apartments and 20 floors of hotel with 300 rooms, there will be a rooftop garden on the top floor at 524m high.

China allows 6 Day Visa Free Access to People transiting through Beijing - Jan 2018
China is allowing travellers from 53 countries to visit Beijing and the surrounding areas including Tianjin and the Hebei Province without a visa for 6 days, provided that they are stopping over on their way to a third country.
The 53 countries include the UK, all EU countries, the US, Canada, Russia, South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and many more - They must be hoping that a lot of well off people from those countries spend a small fortune shopping while they are passing by. To make things even better, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan are considered third countries by the government's definition.
If you qualify for this programme, all you have to do is to fill in another form with your Arrival Card upon arrival by plane, train or boat. If you arrive by air, the authorities can even hold on to your luggage while you are visiting the city! Of course, you will also be entitled to a Sales Tax Refund.
I expect Air China to benefit the most from this arrangement since their main hub is in Beijing and they have an extensive worldwide network.
