Belo Garden Park, Dallas, Texas, USA - Crystal Fountains
Belo Garden Park, replacing a former parking lot, features perennial gardens, shaded groves, plaza spaces, art exhibits, and a 10' high hill that provides topographical relief and views over the central fountain plaza.
This new beautiful outdoor attraction is nestled in the heart of Downtown Dallas; a 1.7 acre oasis designed to give people a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. With more than 100 trees and 10,000 individual ornamental grasses, seasonal flowers, and decorative shrubs to explore and enjoy, this garden park is a favored destination for people from all over.
The interactive fountain not only provides an opportunity for fun, exercise, and refreshment; it was also constructed with sustainable water recycling features to promote a 'green' attitude. A shaded grove with movable tables and chairs nearby gives visitors a space to rest and take in the view, while watching their children play and run through the streams.
KLYDE WARREN PARK, DALLAS, TEXAS, USA - CRYSTAL FOUNTAINS
Freeways throughout the United States have, historically, carved deep, long-lasting lines of separation between countless communities. We know -overwhelmingly- that our urban freeways were routed through low-income neighborhoods. Instead of connecting us to each other, highway decision makers separated us, noted U.S Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx. A new, more convenient, high speed thoroughfare had been created, but the way of life of another community had been destroyed. In response to recognizing this harm caused, communities across the country are working to combat the division by building under, over and sometimes directly on top of freeways. One of the leading efforts to this end is seen in Klyde Warren Park, a 5.2 acre park built to sit like a 'lid' atop a 3-block section of the Woodall Rogers Freeway in Dallas, Texas.
Klyde Warren Park now connects the separated communities, with its design to maximize flexibility and pedestrian accessibility, The park’s open layout allows it to accommodate a variety of attractions through its mix of active and passive spaces, and now effectively connects the city’s flourishing arts district with the downtown core. The area provides for an energetic hub for activities and cultural events for visitors of all ages to enjoy.
In addition to free weekly programming like yoga, film screenings and concerts, the park also includes a children’s play area, reading room, botanical garden, dog park, a restaurant, a performance pavilion, and several fountain plazas. When combined with the surrounding rejuvenated urban space, this plethora of entertainment alternatives has made Klyde Warren Park one of the most popular destinations in downtown Dallas, welcoming more than 1 million guests per year since it opened.
Given Dallas’ humid climate, considerable emphasis was placed on providing guests with a source of thermal comfort during the design of the park. To that end, four highly interactive water features were incorporated into Klyde Warren to provide accessible relief from the Texas heat while encouraging a sense of play. Crystal provided fountain equipment for each of the four features.
The largest water feature in the park, Moody Plaza, contains numerous dynamite blasts that produce thick columns of aerated, frothy water. Located along the park’s central promenade, these jets encourage wayfinding and promote evening visitation when illuminated. Elsewhere, two fountains in the children’s play area have been specially designed for younger park patrons to enjoy. They combine plume effects, fanning jets, and bursts of fog along a winding pathway that sparks imagination. The last of the park’s four water features can be found in the dog park, where furry companions and their owners can stay refreshed and chase down bursts of arching water.
Often recognized for its innovation both in construction, design, and amenities, Klyde Warren Park has received numerous awards since its inauguration, including the Urban Land Institute’s Urban Open Space Award for 2014. Not only that, though, the project has led to an increase in downtown rentals and real estate values. There are even plans to extend the park further over the interstate, adding amenities such as a parking garage, a restaurant, and an ice skating rink. Klyde Warren is a perfect example of how a public space can help bring communities together, and improve the quality of life for its patrons.

Grand Park, Los Angeles, California, USA - Crystal Fountains
The centerpiece of Grand Park is a fountain constructed in memory of Arthur J. Wills, chief administrator of Los Angeles County who served in the 1950's. The mid-century modern fountain was part of a $56-million transformation of this public space; stretching from the Music Center to City Hall.
The fountain was restored and re-energized to create an interactive gathering place highlighted by synchronized water and LED light shows.
Contains two separate closed-loop water systems. In the upper system, a 50-foot spray of water shoots upward in the original fountain bowl, then flows into the central basin for recirculation. The water then cascades over a six-foot waterfall into the lower membrane pool, which actually uses a separate closed-loop system.
In the lower membrane pool, a quarter inch of water flows thinly across 6,200 square feet of dark granite featuring a circular patterns of jets that invites people to interact with the spraying water.

Village Center Station II - Greenwood Village, Colorado, USA - Crystal Fountains
Village Center Station II (VCS II) is a Class A office development. It marks the completion of the VCS Complex, a premier transit-oriented development in the suburban Denver market. The site is adjacent to one of Denver’s highly rated light rail station, Arapahoe at Village Center Station, allowing convenient access to Denver’s light rail system. There is an abundance of area amenities in and near the Station, including the VCS Plaza which provides an elegant outdoor area that unites the VCS buildings and provides a venue for outdoor concerts, art fairs, and other community activities.
The plaza showcases a circular traditional fountain offering an elegant display and soothing sound. Crystal's popular Cascade Jets produce eruptions of foamy white aerated water. Variants of this series is used to create small, medium, and large sized displays - as they hold shape at greater heights. After sunset, intense underwater white LED lights turn the eruptions to glowing white conical displays.
Smart Financial Centre, Sugar Land, Texas, USA - Crystal Fountains
Sugar Land's state of the art venue, Smart Financial Centre, sets a new standard for live performance venues with climate control, movable walls, and up to 6,400 seats. With the latest in sound, light and video technology, the venue rightfully earned the title of Houston's #1 Hottest Music Venue in 2017 by the Houston Press.
Located right next to the Centre, a new public plaza was also commissioned by the city which features a vibrant mix of amenities for visitors, including a water fountain, tree-covered grove, and a large lawn area with lighting and streetscape enhancements. Along with the impressive Venue, the plaza now anchors a mixed-use destination center that includes a future 50-acre business site for Fluor, the Texas Instruments campus, the future expansion of Class A office space and plans for a hotel/conference center. The office and entertainment-centric development is intended to increase tourism, provide unique destination activities for local and regional visitors, promote capital investment and create new jobs.
Not only can visitors enjoy the entertainment at the Centre, though, the plaza's fountain transforms every evening from a simple interactive splash pad into a performance of its own. Along with supplying the sequencing jets and misting effect nozzles, Crystal's team choreographed and on-site programmed three separate shows for the feature, meeting specific client requests. These included focusing on showing off the height of the jets, showcasing fast light sequences, and even using passive colors to compliment faster choreoswitchtm sequencing (for example, using a single color to show off a more impressive display of movement).
Visitors can enjoy the fountain splash pad from noon to 4 p.m. on Mondays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. After 4 p.m. the fountain transforms into hourly water shows, currently planned for 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., provided that there is no event taking place at the accompanying Venue.
