Spring Front Range Fly Fishing - Colorado
Fishing has been heating up this spring along the Colordao Front Range. Midge hatches have been consistent and midge patterns, especially zebra midges, have been producing well. Enjoy the pre-runoff conditions while they last.
Spring Fly Fishing on the Colorado Front Range - 2014
The creeks and rivers along the Colorado Front Range offer great opportunities for spring, pre-runoff fishing. The small brown trout are selective, but can be a lot of fun to fool. March through May is a great time to brush off the winter cobwebs and get back on the water. This was my spring, hope you enjoy and that runoff runs its course quickly.
More Spring Front Range Fly Fishing - Colorado
A friend and I were excited to visit a stretch of water we love, but with its higher elevation, water temperatures were still only in the mid 30's and the resident cutthroats and cutbows were fairly lethargic. Decided to head back downstream where the fish (browns) and bug life were more active and had some success. Looks like runoff is upon us now, but stoneflies should remain a main food source and fish should be hanging near the edges and in slower water. Have fun out there.

Our very first video, I hope y’all like it. We were pond hopping in Boulder and caught one decent bass and a ton of smaller dinks, bluegill, crappie, bass. Sorry about the video and audio, we’re just getting the hang of this. Stay tuned for better quality video soon.
Summer Front Range Colorado Fly Fishing
Summer is in full swing on the Colorado Front Range and I have been getting out to fly fish for brown and rainbow trout when I can. Fish have recently been hitting subsurface on prince nymphs and midge patterns and on the surface on caddis imitations. Watch out for summer thunderstorms and get out there when the flows look good.
South Boulder Creek Fly Fishing
Recently I made a trip up to Walker Ranch, Boulder County's western open space, and hiked in to South Boulder Creek. The fishing along the front range has been incredible the past couple weeks from the Big T down to SBC. This day I was using a dry-dropper rig with a BWO on top and a Pheasant Tail nymph below. Healthy hatches and beautiful rainbows and brown's. Please subscribe and stay tuned for more action!

Ice Fishing the City Park, Fort Collins Colorado
Hello everyone,
In this video I do some ice fishing for trout at the City Park in the middle of Fort Collins Colorado.
I didn’t think I would be able to ice fish here again, but we had a week of surprisingly cold weather, so I thought I would give it a try. The ice was definitely not safe everywhere on the lake, but there was just enough ice near the shore on the shady side of the lake. The stocked rainbow trout I catch here are in pretty good condition in comparison to the very ugly and beat up trout I’ve been catching in the mountains lately. I guess this just shows that urban fishing or city fishing can be productive even though it might be overlooked by most people.
If you are a beginner or on a budget, consider urban ice fishing if you get a chance, this pond is less than five minutes away from where I live and there seems to be quality fish here! You do not need to buy a lot of expensive gear or travel to remote locations to catch trout. Just go to the city park and start practicing, you will learn a lot and catch a lot of fish! The City Park in Fort Collins is a perfect beginner or budget ice fishing spot in the front range of Colorado.

Thanks,

FISCHER RANCH
The historic Fischer Ranch offers 3,765 acres conveniently located off Highway 287 just 30 Northwest of Fort Collins, Colorado and 40 minutes South of Laramie, Wyoming. Straddling the state line, this unique offering has excellent topography, location, and privacy with paved access to the front gate. This historic cattle ranch is the perfect year-round retreat for the outdoor enthusiast. Excellent hunting for mule deer, elk and antelope exist within the boundaries of the ranch and the intermixed state land. The location off of Highway 287 gives excellent access year-round with extreme privacy to the ranch headquarters that sits adjacent to Fish Creek. The spring fed creeks are teeming with brook and brown trout. Ponderosa covered hills with amazing rock formations and watered bottoms dominate the landscape of this historic acreage. This ranch creates the feel of the old west.
Beautiful interior landscapes mixed with gorgeous vistas of the Mummy Range and the Rawah (ray-wah) Wilderness offer those famous world class Colorado views. The ranch is also just 40 minutes to Laramie, Wyoming which also offers many amenities.
The ranch is a mix of short gramma grasses and sub-irrigated bottomland and the current owners run about 200 mother cows for 5-6 months a year. The ranch has historically been hayed but currently the owners are only grazing the sub-irrigated and irrigated bottoms.
The hunting on the ranch is excellent with approximately 320 acres located in Colorado and the balance of the property located in Wyoming. Currently, the Colorado tags for elk are over the counter for Archery, 2nd and 3rd seasons. The Wyoming portion of the ranch offers 2 elk, mule deer and antelope landowner vouchers for the owners of the ranch by draw. The area has more resident elk than ever before and herds move locally creating great opportunities during all seasons. There is an excellent migration of elk on and through this ranch during the later seasons. Quality bulls up to 350 have frequented the ranch with a good representative bull being 300 inches. Mule deer have done well over the past years and good deer between 160” and 180” can be harvested.
The ranch has excellent potential for a conservation easement for a buyer that would like to benefit financially from protecting the ranch in perpetuity.

Fish On! July 4 Fishing in Denver (HD - GoPro Hero 5)
Ben hooks his first fish & Jim makes his first trip out with us this year. We had 3 fish total and about 10 bites (two of them on this video). Three of the biggest bites were after the GoPro battery ran out.
The fish Ben hooked was definitely over a pound but it swallowed the hook, but we were able to go through the gill to get the hook out and save the fish!
A Unexpected Catch He caught a MONSTER Wiper hybrid at Boyd Lake State Park
I kept the footage of the whole fight with the big wiper on when he was hooked up just because the conversation was pretty funny =) Hence the LONG BLACK SCREEN filming in the dark is like that don't hate too much, it is what it is.
