Santa Claus Indiana where Christmas is Everyday!
This tiny town of Santa Claus makes it feel like Christmas all year long. It was established in 1856 when the townsfolk heard sleigh bells outside of a town meeting. A child thought it was Santa Claus and shouted the name. That's exactly how the town came to be known as Santa Claus. I've been here twice now, once at Christmas time and I had to go back for a visit in the Summer just to see how it is. Even though this is a small town there is quite a bit to see here. They have a golf course at Christmas lake if you want to squeeze that in while your family goes shopping. Frosty's Fun Center has miniature golf, food and a little arcade. Santa's Lodge has just added a zip line course. A ride can be taken on one of the horses at Santa's Stables. The town is visited by many each year because of the theme park Holiday World. This is actually two parks in one but only one admission is required for entry. It is an amusement park and a water park so it seems like you can't possibly have all the fun in only one day. If you love history then the area is full of it. Holiday World began as Santa Land and became the U.S.'s first theme park in 1946. Head over to the Museum for a great showcase of how the town began and how it continues the tradition. While you are there you can check out the towns first post office, a church from 1880 and a huge Santa statue. Nearby is Candy Castle. This was the first themed attraction in the U.S. when it opened in 1935. They have all sorts of candy in there. Some of it is made in house but they also have candy from all over in case you are picky. Just outside of town sits Lincoln's Boyhood Home National Memorial and Park. Here you can catch a glimpse of what life was like during Abraham Lincoln's days as a boy. You can see where his cabin was, walk the grounds where he did and enjoy the Trail of Twelve Stones . The stones have been taken from various places across the nation where Lincoln had something significant happen. Each stone has a marker explaining what that even was. This is definitely the kind of place that makes you want to keep going back.
The town receives over 15,000 letters to Santa each year. A group of volunteers known as Santa's Elves replies to them all. It costs nothing more than the stamp you used to mail your letter there. If you're in town though you can write your letter and drop it off at the town's original post office for free. All the materials are provided there.

Santa Claus
Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle and simply Santa, is a figure with legendary, historical and folkloric origins who, in many Western cultures, is said to bring gifts to the homes of the good children on 24 December, the night before Christmas Day. However, in some European countries children receive their presents on St. Nicholas' Day, 6 December. The modern figure of Santa Claus is derived from the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, which, in turn, has part of its basis in hagiographical tales concerning the historical figure of Christian bishop and gift-giver Saint Nicholas. During the Christianization of Germanic Europe, this figure may have absorbed elements of the god Odin, who was associated with the Germanic pagan midwinter event of Yule and led the Wild Hunt, a ghostly procession through the sky. Over time, traits of this character and the British folklore character Father Christmas merged to form the modern Santa Claus known today.
Santa Claus is generally depicted as a portly, joyous, white-bearded man—sometimes with spectacles—wearing a red coat with white collar and cuffs, white-cuffed red trousers, and black leather belt and boots and who carries a bag full of gifts for children. Images of him rarely have a beard with no moustache. This image became popular in the United States and Canada in the 19th century due to the significant influence of the 1823 poem A Visit From St. Nicholas and of caricaturist and political cartoonist Thomas Nast. This image has been maintained and reinforced through song, radio, television, children's books and films.

SANTA GETTING READY FOR DELIVERIES
As Christmas Eve approaches, and after months of busy preparations, Father Christmas (Santa Claus) has loaded his sleigh with presents made in his workshop, and departed to deliver them to all the good boys and girls around the world with his old friend and guide, Rudolph the reindeer.
Santa Claus, whose workshop is in a secret location near the North Pole, spends the whole year getting ready to deliver presents overnight on Christmas Eve, including answering letters from children and listening to their requests.
This year he allowed a camera crew to witness his final preparations.
With his unmistakable long white beard and red robes, he was seen striding past snow dusted pines to his sleigh and hefting a large sack into position.
He then patted his reindeer Rudolf before taking up the reins of his sleigh and urging his faithful companion forward along a snowy track.
Merry Christmas, he said before his departure.
Although Father Christmas is busy making sure everyone will get what they want, he says what is most important to him is that people remember to wish for peace on earth and good will for everyone.
It is not known if Father Christmas intends to meet up with other members of his reindeer team before setting off on his annual gift-giving journey.
According to a Santa workshop official, it is through clever use of the world's time zones that he's able to make all his deliveries in a single night.

Gene Autry
Orvon Grover Gene Autry was an American performer who gained fame as a singing cowboy on the radio, in movies, and on television for more than three decades beginning in the early 1930s. Autry was also owner of a television station, several radio stations in Southern California, and the Los AngelesAnaheim Angels Major League Baseball team from 1961 to 1997.
From 1934 to 1953, Autry appeared in 93 films and 91 episodes of The Gene Autry Show television series. During the 1930s and 1940s, he personified the straight-shooting hero—honest, brave, and true—and profoundly touched the lives of millions of Americans. Autry was also one of the most important figures in the history of country music, considered the second major influential artist of the genre's development after Jimmie Rodgers. His singing cowboy movies were the first vehicle to carry country music to a national audience. In addition to his signature song, Back in the Saddle Again, Autry is still remembered for his Christmas holiday songs, Here Comes Santa Claus, which he wrote, Frosty the Snowman, and his biggest hit, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Lyrics:
On the first day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
A partridge in a pear tree.
On the second day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
On the third day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
On the fourth day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
On the fifth day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
On the sixth day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
On the seventh day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
On the eighth day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
On the ninth day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
On the tenth day of Christmas,
