Fujikawaguchiko is a Japanese resort town in the northern foothills of Mount Fuji. It’s a base for climbing the iconic volcano along the Yoshida Trail. It surrounds Lake Kawaguchi, one of the scenic Fuji Five Lakes, an area that's home to many hot springs and golf courses. Weather and Events:
Summer (Jul–Sep) is warm and humid (but cooler at high altitude), and it's the main season for climbing Mt. Fuji, whose peak is cold even in midsummer. Other peak periods include May for the pink cherry blossom flowers during the FujiZakura Festival (Apr–May), and Nov when the autumn foliage (or koyo) is at its most colorful, particularly by Lake Kawaguchi.
