California kingsnake - Video Learning - WizScience.com
The California kingsnake is a nonvenomous colubrid snake endemic to the western United States and northern Mexico. It is a relatively small subspecies of the common kingsnake and is naturally found in a wide variety of habitats. One of the most popular snakes in captivity, the California kingsnake can vary widely in appearance due to numerous naturally occurring and captive-developed color morphs.
The California kingsnake is found in many places on the West Coast, including the highest mountain ranges to approximately 6,100 feet in the south and over 7,000 feet in the southeastern Sierra Nevada Mountains, as well as southern portions of Nevada,and/or Utah, Oregon, northwestern New Mexico, and in extreme southwestern Colorado, northwestern Mexico. In Arizona, they intergrade with the desert kingsnake and the Mexican black kingsnake.
The California kingsnake was introduced to Gran Canaria by the accidental or deliberate release of individuals bred in captivity. In 2007, its naturalization was confirmed on the northeastern side of the island, and in 2009 it was discovered in an area on the northwest side.
The California kingsnake is generally diurnal, but they become more nocturnal if the weather is too hot. In the winter, they will usually go deep underground and enter a hibernation-like state called brumation, which is characterized by a slowed metabolism and reduced activity.
California kingsnakes are opportunistic feeders, feeding on almost any vertebrate they can constrict, just as all Colubridae do. Common food items include rodents, other reptiles, birds, and amphibians. All kingsnakes are non-venomous, but are powerful constrictors and generally kill their prey through suffocation. The king in their name refers to their propensity to hunt and consume other snakes, including venomous rattlesnakes that are commonly indigenous to their natural habitat. California kingsnakes are naturally impervious to the venom of rattlesnakes but are not totally immune. They feed on rattlesnakes when the opportunity arises and a rattlesnake will make an easy meal for a hungry kingsnake, but do not seek out rattlesnakes specifically, nor consume them on a regular basis.

Low Adult Hunter
HELLO! yes I am alive, and yes this was my first show back!!
mini update of what has happened this past year since my last video.
Sold Logan, then that girl sold him... but now he is very happy with a wonderful women in VA being an event horse! With the money I got from logan I got a new car and took me and my boyfriend to Hawaiiiii!! UGH it was so beautiful there I hope everyone gets to go there at least once in their life! then came back and Dave (boyfriend) and I moved into a house together. I am back in school to finish my vet tech degree. oh got a beautiful! Tattoo of scooter (my first horse you will all see in my first few videos) on my back. its amazing Ill try and post some pics and pics of the photo shoot I had with him which was SSOOOOOO much fun!
anyway, so I hadn't gotten to ride a hole lot, and Iv been having a lot of confidence issues literally crying while on a horse because they started to get fresh. but a lot of it was because the job I had was so stressful and it was making me like depressed and ugh it was bad, went into everything... but Im starting to feel much better now that I don't work there and I am able to BREATH!
So this is Alabama!! The most amazing horse I have ever ridden! She is pretty perfect I basically just pointed to the jump and legged her or held to get the distance haha safe to say we were all blues (but one course cause I messed up she was perfect) and Champ for the class haha. but hey my first show in like almost 2yrs (also my first time showing as an adult!) and for only riding once a week now I couldn't be happier. :) Sorry there isn't much to watch as far as effects and music, my computer crashed and took my movie makers with it :/
But I hope to post videos here and there again. So ya... that is allllll
