Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Bicycle superhighway: Norway pours US$923m into massive bike-only road plan for cities - TomoNews
OSLO, NORWAY — Norway has invested in the development of a network of highways for cyclists.
The country has announced that it will spend 8 billion Norwegian Kroner (US$923 million) on 10 broad, two-lane, cross-country bike tracks in and near Norway’s nine largest cities. The highway will allow longer-distance cyclists to travel with a speed and safety hitherto impossible.
The new paths will create bike commuter links between inner cities and outer suburbs. It will extend the protected cycle network out from urban cores through the commuter belt and into the countryside.
The highway will not be tracks linking cities across hundreds of miles, at least not initially.
In the absence of cars, the highway will allow cyclists to travel up to 40 kilometers (25 miles) per hour, making long-distance travel more realistic.
The bike highway is part of the new National Transit Plan to clean up Norway’s transit pollution. According to the plan, by 2030, 75 percent of the country’s buses and 50 percent of its trucks must be low-emission, while 40 percent of its short-distance ships and ferries (an important means of transit in Norway) must be either low emission or use biofuels.
If the bike highway succeeds, it should take pressure off roads and public transit and help cut Norway’s usage of fossil fuels.
Norway’s vision doesn’t stand alone. In 2014, an elevated bike path was proposed for London by design firm Norman Foster. The futuristic cycle highway was designed as 220 km of car-free routes installed above London's suburban rail network and would accommodate 12,000 cyclists per hour. And Netherlands famous suspended bike path, the Hovenring, conceived in 2008, has become a landmark. The cycle path roundabout in the province of North Brabant is the first of its kind in the world.

Norway instead of Argentina, cycle rather than car, tent instead of tidy hotel. On their trip through Norway Olaf
Obsommer, Jens Klatt and Philip Baues will travel from river to river – by fair means and with their kayaks on a bicycle trailer. This time it‘s not only about the highest waterfall, it‘s about the journey itself: the scenery, the people and about discovering simplicity.
Land of raging waters Norway is a kingdom – not only as a system of government but also in terms of kayaking. Numerous fjords and islands indent the 25.000 kilometer long Atlantic coastline, the character of the heartland is (yet) shaped by untamed rivers and countless waterfalls.
Travelling without emissons Alrighty – roadtrip! Let‘s get the boats on the roof rack and hit the road! Or what about having a look at the carbon footprint for once? This grew quite big on the boys‘ expeditions around the globe. But on a bike? This will be a tough job ...
No pain, no gain Olaf, Jens and Philip want to »earn« the rivers they will paddle. True to the motto »pain is temporary, glory is forever« they know that they will face a stiff piece of work with their ambitious tour – mentally and physically.
Discovering tranquility And what about availablility? Usually we all have mobiles, e-mail, Skype – and in between we post our latest gossip on Facebook. Everyone who‘s not keeping up with that is labeled as an outsider pretty fast. How cool would it be, to just pull the plug and get rid of all that stress? To travel at slow speed, rather than time-zone-hopping until the head is spinning. On their bikes Olaf, Jens and Philip may will be slow, but they will have the time to really soak up all the impressions on their way.
The clock is ticking In Norway there is no nuclear energy and just one coal power station. This principally positive energy policy is threatening more and more riverine ecosystems. A lot of wild mountain gorges will be dammed to big artificial ponds anytime soon. So it‘s high time to immerse into the spectacular whitewater world before it‘s too late.
TEAM:
Olaf Obsommer The award-winning film maker and producer is a living legend in whitewater kayaking. From his first movie to his latest production »In search of the River God II« it was a long way. As the initiator of the famous Sickline event, Olaf by now executes big TV-projects for adidas outdoor and major German TV shows as SternTV and Aktuelles Sportstudio have broadcasted many of his impressive kayaking shots. Besides regional and also international programs like italian RAI and Gillette Sports report on his adventures on a regular basis.

Philip Baues Philip is a freelance journalist writing for big German speaking outdoor magazines such as 4-Seasons, KANUmagazin, adidas magalog, Abenteuer Reisen and more. He also created ahoimag – a core magazine for the whitwater paddling scene. Philip is still going for the big stuff in his kayak and loves to travel the globe searching for adventures and new rivers.

Douglas Murray Talk On Immigration and Islam + Q&A @ Oslo, Norway 30.08.2018
Hosted by Document.no at Oslo Military Society
Douglas Murray is an author and journalist based in Britain.
His latest publication, The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam, was published by Bloomsbury in May 2017. It spent almost 20 weeks on The Sunday Times bestseller list and was a Number 1 bestseller in non-fiction. It has subsequently been published in more than 20 languages worldwide and has been read and cited by politicians around the world. The Evening Standard described it as ‘By far the most compelling political book of the year.’ It was praised by, among others, Nick Cohen, Sir Roger Scruton, Clive James, Morrissey and Rabbi (Lord) Jonathan Sacks, who described it as ‘The most disturbing political book I’ve read this year. Based on travels through key European centres, Murray weaves a tale of uncontrolled immigration, failed multiculturalism, systemic self-doubt, cultural suicide and disingenuous political leadership. Accurate, insightful and devastating.’
