BRUNO CATALANO; VAN GOGH; DE MEDICIS GALLERY; PLACE DES VOSGES; 75004 PARIS FRANCE
Bruno Catalano was acquainted with sculpting in 1981 in Marseille where he enrolled in Françoise Hamel’s modeling classes.
After two years of education, he opened his own art practice in 1985 and secured an oven in which he would bake his first clay figures. Catalano’s way to art was long and inspiring : sailor at the age of 18, he then became electrician before opening his own art workspace eventually.
Self-thaught artist succeeded in creating very original and unique sculptures. He was noticed by a Parisian art dealer in 2005 at the contemporary art fair. His art works are now part of the most prestigious art collections around the world.
Bruno Catalano’s sculptures don’t get lost in the space, they compliments the place and stays there as they were always part of the surrounding. As he puts it in his own words : “When we travel we leave, even unconsciously, parts of us in the places, our vibrations, sounds, words”.

André NADAL was born in Oran in 1952. In 1962, he arrives in France after the independence of Algeria. In 1976, after secondary education of draughtsman then the School of Fine Arts of Perpignan, Andre Nadal turns to the interior design. In 1982, following numerous journeys, in particular in the United States, he decides to dedicate his time to the painting.
Andre Nadal shares his time between his two workshops of Paris and the Tarn in the South of France. His very uncluttered artistic expression is essentially centred on the black and the white. These two materials, according to their matt effects or their shines, allied to meticulous techniques of brushing and smoothing, express a world in three dimensions. Andre Nadal pictorial universe consists of cubes, calligraphy, compactions of feathers, floating objects.
The Zen and dynamic aesthetics of André NADAL pulls us in a pondering which calms and stimulates the spirit.

The Palais du Luxembourg, Marie de Médicis residence, the house of the French Senate.
Established over 30 years ago by the French Ministry of Culture, the annual Journées du Patrimoine, or Heritage Days, opens up thousands of historic monuments to the public for the weekend, including museums, churches, gardens, embassies, schools, libraries, the Senate and National Assembly buildings. Most of these places are either normally closed to the public, so it was last September that I had the privilege to enjoy special access to this beautiful palace and appreciate its amazing architectural and cultural heritage.
The Palais du Luxembourg, located within the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, was constructed at the start of the 1600s for Marie de Médicis. Marie de Médicis who was the wife of King Henri IV was not happy with the medieval Palais du Louvre and after her husband was assassinated and she became regent for her son, the future King Louis XIII, she decided to have her own palace constructed in Paris. She wanted the residence to remind her of the Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens in Florence, which is where she had been brought up. It was the influence of Marie de Medicis that made this palace sumptuous and majestic. Up until the French Revolution it was a royal residence. Declared a National Palace in 1791, the Luxembourg Palace became home to the Directoire, the House of Peers (1814-1848), and the Senate of the Third Republic (from 1879). The highly decorated Salle des Conférences was inspired by the Galerie d’Apollon of the Louvre. Enjoy and have a beautiful day.

DEMEDICIS GALLERY; ADRIEN MARCOS; ROSSO; PLACE DES VOSGES; PARIS; FRANCE
Adrien MArcos is a young talented designer who graduated in electronics. His passion is combining design with manual work.
He yearns to bring together these three domains ( electronics, design, manual work) into his works of art when designing interactive luminous murals.
These can react to outside events such as sounds, the presence of people or even the sense of touch.
ROSSO is made of ten unique autonomous structures linked together according to a precise pattern of intermingled lines which create a 3D space area.
The artist designed it with an ice red coat of paint to enhance the depth of a balanced relief.
The living light seems to be travelling from one structure to the next, shooting out only to melt away to bolt out again as it pleases.
Sensitive to the world around it, it reflects and rebounces according to the sound perceived in its surrounding, rewarding you with graceful illumination.
Sculpture murale interactive ROSSO.
Description de l'oeuvre:

ENGLISH/
Bernard Saint-Maxent was born in Paris in 1970. The artist is self taught and this has allowed him to follow his own ideas in choice of new materials and to integrate all new kinds of elements to his creations. His current work revolves around the pranks of an omnipresent rangy character, who is full of life., He is trying to give movement and life to his sculptures. His inspiration comes from the burlesque scenes of Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, from current events to advertising, the contradictions of modern life and his own ravings. Even if the subjects he covers don't always make you smile, they are nonetheless treated with humour and a zest for life. It is a means for him to draw the eye of the onlooker for reflection., Each sculpture is different and one off because there is no cast. They are created with a metallic structure around which he models with resin and then applies a varnish. After a day he applies two coats of bronze paint and after another day he finishes with a patina that looks like bronze. The specs are made separately!, Bernard feels that art should be light-hearted, and that it should bring pleasure.

Born in 1975 into a 4th generation of Master stonemasons, Frédéric Avella was immersed into the family business from a very young age. At 12 years old he was tought by his father how to polish, cut and shape different works in stone and marble. At age 21, the municipality of Sanary located on the French Riviera chose Frédéric to spearhead full renovations of multiple fountains and public statues.
His contemporary work offers a variety of finishes while being influenced by today’s French design industry with respect to ideas about pop culture, cartoons and comics. He created “Freud,” his first sculpture series, manifesting his intention to demystify different animals with proportions, exaggerations, round lines, and personification.
Frédéric’s concept is to parody the serious character in an amusing, almost burlesque way, knowing what the animal image represents in pop culture while being often used for brand labels or as sports mascots. Yet still, the animal’s characteristics remain loyal, faithful, courageous, powerful and strong. He creates, revisits and customizes animal subjects by giving them a touch of candy pop art aesthetic and bright color finishes...
JESUS CURIA; TRIO; DEMEDICIS GALLERY
From the earliest work, the artist has been showing his interest in ethnic cultures, focusing on the issue of age and transition. The work of Jesus Curia Perez shows a clearly defined and one of a kind visual language at Galerie De Medicis. Mostly it is the working technique, which have allowed him to create and preserve an unique signature. Tradition, modernity, and ethnics remains the three basic aspects in his artworks. Curia is always capable to catch the essence and capture it in his art piece. The body is the focal point in each of the sculptures. It is the subject of artist’s study and research, the object that allows him to show his ideas and ideals. The men and women of Jesus Curia Perez are private yet powerful characters. Through them, we can distinguish an existential research and a mysterious loneliness. Deeply viewing the sculptures, we can finally discover that these ancient characters tend easily to reflect our daily thoughts on modern world.

Born in 1958 in Marseille , Bruno Catalano knew how to express his talented energy into art since his youth. Autodidact artist but yet very sensible to human being and his causes he succeeds to give to his ideas and feeling forms Under very original unique sculptures. The universal thème of travel and unknown destination still inspires Bruno Catalano If his first Works compact and convetional , stay fled to the éléments of the earth , the series which follows does not cease to acquire in expressivity and in finesse. These astonishing Works , with their dashed bodies and the determinated lack of volume , invite the viewer to mentaly reconstitute its limits. Thus , van Gogh still leaves , his suitcase in his hand , towards the provencial contryside, but it is in a quasi abstract lightness, open to the wind and light , is it not our destinity that bruno Catalano looks to turn us to see and to meditate ? As through his statuary he re enacts the adventure of the human species , as though always between two riverbanks , repelling all borders . When we travel , weleave , even unconscionably, parts of us in the places , our vibrations, sounds, words , don't get lost in the space instead they increase in the place and stay there timelessly . Or it is just the places that are steeling from us our lives and souls parts which still invisible to us
