Two Oklahomans meet in the Ivy League and fall in love, ???? Gaylord Pickens Museum Wedding OKC
Yale football player and Dartmouth Cheerleader get married! When the groom is a Yale football player, and still cries, you know it is going to be a good day!
Contact us:
Jackson called us a few months ago and said how much he loved our work and they really wanted us at their wedding. I was so excited that I was still free, especially after hearing their story.
You see, they are actually both from Oklahoma, and both went to school out of state, in the Ivy League. She went to Dartmouth and he played football at Yale. She was from a small town in Oklahoma, and he was from a town just outside of Oklahoma City. The two met, and were inseparable. Everyone talked about how Jackson knew pretty much immediately that Jeni was for him.
When Jeni moved off to college, her family was worried that she'd find someone on the east coast, and never come back home. Well she did find someone, and when they found out, they were a bit nervous. That is, until they found out that he was from Oklahoma as well. Such a cool story that two Oklahoma kids, both go off to the Ivy League, and still find each other.
It was evident that this relationship was something special. That God's hand was all over it. The way they looked at each other. The way he walked her into the room by placing his hand on her lower back and guiding her at the same time protecting her, it was just something special.
Not to mention, Jackson wasn't afraid to show his emotions. From tears when he saw Jeni for the first time in her dress, to tears when dancing with his mother, he truly was there. Soaking in the moments. Soaking in the day. That is exactly what we are looking for!
Let's talk about Jeni for a second. Not only is she gorgeous, her personality makes her even more beautiful. Kind isn't a strong enough word to describe her. She was compassionate. Caring. Loving. Most of all, she was smitten with Jackson. You could just see it in the room as they walked to meet guests. They were in the crowded room, but always connected. Sometimes we don't even see the bride and groom together during the reception, because they are so busy. This wasn't the case for these two.
Not only was their story beautiful, their families were so kind to us, and treated us like family. I can't tell you how humbling it is, and how honored we are when a couple treats us like family.
I hope this wedding video helps you to go back to these moments. Push play, sit back, and go right back to this beautiful day. Remember how it felt. Remember this love you all share. Thank you for allowing me to capture it. Here's to many happy years ahead of you!
John

London's Crypt Gallery Hosts European Debut of OKLAHOMA Portraits
The Crypt Gallery of London hosted OKLAHOMA, a multimedia exploration of the people and places of the 46th state, 11-13 January, 2018. The installation's European debut featured more than 100 portraits and landscapes by Oklahoma City-based photographer M.J. Alexander and original chamber music and ambient sounds recorded and mixed by composer Edward Knight.
The artworks have been featured in solo shows in the Oklahoma State Capitol, Wyoming’s Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts, Oklahoma History Center, Gaylord-Pickens Museum, and the Main Gallery of the International Photography Hall of Fame. Portraits of centenarians were published with interviews by Alexander as the fine-art book Salt of the Red Earth: A Century of Wit and Wisdom From Oklahoma's Elders. Images of young Oklahomans were commissioned for Portrait of a Generation: Sons and Daughters of the Red Earth, winner of an Oklahoma Book Award and Best Regional Non-Fiction Gold Medal from the Independent Publisher Book Awards. Original 36-piece collection of fine-art prints debuted at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art before touring the state. The works are now on permanent display at the Heritage Collection of Oklahoma City.

Off The Record 2019 Oklahoma City
Replicating the success of an earlier event hosted for women law students from the University of Tulsa College of Law back in February, McAfee & Taft re-created its signature “Off the Record” event for students from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and the Oklahoma City University School of Law on September 12, 2019, in Oklahoma City. The reception-style event, which was held at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum, offers law students the opportunity to meet with successful women lawyers and judges for an evening of networking and straight talk to discuss real-world issues and concerns not typically discussed in the classroom.
Nearly 200 attendees filled the Bennett-McClendon Great Hall — including McAfee & Taft attorneys and special guests from the bench, nonprofits, government and industry — to share their experiences, offer candid advice, and answer questions about what they can (and should) expect from their legal careers.
The event was hosted by the women of McAfee & Taft and emceed by shareholder Rachel Blue.
Oklahoma Territorial Museum & Carnegie Library

Exhibits within the museum cover the time period from 1889 to 1913 including the first land run in the territory, the events leading up to April 22, 1889, territorial lifestyles including that of the homesteader and urban dweller and a major exhibit chronicling the events and issues leading up to Oklahoma's statehood. A wealth of genealogy information can be found at the Oklahoma Territorial Museum and Carnegie Library.
