Walking in GEORGETOWN / Penang (Malaysia) - Love Lane to Clan Jetty - 4K 60fps (UHD)
Georgetown on the island of Penang (Pulau Pinang) is a tourist favourite in Malaysia. As the second largest city in Malaysia and the old town being a UNESCO World Heritage Site Georgetown features a large number of eating places and several colonial-era buildings.
We start the walk with some birthday karaoke :-) on Love Lane. The area around Chulia Street has some of the nightlife and is more quiet during the day. We walk around and somewhat into the direction of the picturesque Armenia street.
On the way to the old core city we see the Kapitan Keling Mosque, and check some of the famous street art around the popular Armenia street. We finally go further to down to the sea and the Clan Jetties which are the old Chinese water villages.
A hot day with a final cool breeze near the ocean.

Clan Jetties Stilt Houses of the Penang Heritage Trail located in George Town, Penang, Malaysia
In this travel video we venture off to explore the Clan Jetties Stilt Houses of the Penang Heritage Trail located in historic UNESCO heritage city George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Visiting the stilt villages was something both of us really wanted to do and was one of the top attractions in George Town we wanted to explore. We definitely weren't disappointed as we spent several hours visiting the different Clan Jetties that are distinguished by different names, for example Chew Jetty. As part of the Penang Heritage Trail these jetties are considered one of the last bastions of old Chinese settlement in Penang. The stilt houses reminded us of Kampung Ayer, one of the largest stilt villages in the world, located in Bandar Seri Bagawan, Brunei. While wandering we were greeted by many friendly cats and dogs along the way. Overall, it was a great way for us to spend the late afternoon on a hot and humid day.

Today we are visiting a place that is an important part of George Town's heritage - the Clan Jetties.
These are the last bastions of old Chinese settlements.
One of the things that has surprised me most about visiting the Clan Jetties is that people live here with their pets, so even though their houses are on stilts above the water they still keep dogs, cats and it works.
Here we've found some friendly little doggies. Yes. Leave it to me to find puppies.
Cats. Hello, cat. It is purring. Cat, let's steal you. You can fit in my backpack.
Well, we've encountered a lot of friendly cats and dogs but not this one.
All of the houses in this area are built on stilts over the water and they even have a temple.
Here is the temple of stilts that we were looking to find.
This area is now part of the heritage trail and it was established roughly 150 years ago.
There are several distinct Jetty's along this area. In fact, there were seven at one time. One just burnt down and now we are visiting the Chew Jetty, which is welcoming us.
How are we feeling? I'm feeling good. I'm just resting on someone's porch I imagine.
This stilt villages actually remind me quite a bit of the ones I visited while in Brunei, which are called the Kampong Ayer. Those were even quite a bit bigger. These are still very fascinating.
In the back of one of these jetties there is the most random Santa Clause. In the back.

heritage walk in George Town
Went on a heritage walk around George Town. It's fun, had information about town that I didn't know about. But of course this does go with my documentary about pedestrian safety or what lacks in pedestrian safety. This is what people who have no regards for pedestrian safety is putting the tourists through.

Penang, George Town, Malaysia. TRAVEL VIDEO
After Kuala Lumpur I visited the George Town, the historical town in Malaysia.
I arrive to GT from Butterworth by ferry and it cost to me just 1,20 MR for the return trip.
I walk around the city, visited some museums, temples, many beautiful street art paintings and Fort Cornwallis, which was built by British in 1786.
George Town, the capital city of the Malaysian state of Penang, is situated at the north-eastern tip of Penang Island. Its urban population is estimated at 708,000, while the Greater Penang conurbation has a population of 2.5 million, making George Town and Greater Penang the second largest city and the second most populated metropolitan area in Malaysia respectively.
Penang is a Malaysian state located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia, by the Strait of Malacca. It comprises two parts – Penang Island, where the capital city, George Town, is located, and Seberang Perai (formerly Province Wellesley) on the Malay Peninsula.

Walking around and exploring alleys and colonial mansions in George Town, Penang, Malaysia
In this travel video we wake early to explore the inner city of UNESCO heritage George Town wandering around the alleys and colonial mansions of this city on Pulau Penang Island, Malaysia. We're greeted along the way by many friendly cats and dogs. As we wander around we notice many colonial mansions in various conditions - some crumbling while others have been nicely restored. We notice many locals going about their daily business. Overall, it was a great way to spend the morning after a long day of transportation getting from Kuala Lumpur to Penang by train.

George Town (less commonly also spelt Georgetown,[2]) is the capital of the state of Penang in Malaysia. Named after Britain's King George III, George Town is located on the north-east corner of Penang Island. The inner city has a population of 720,202 and the metropolitan area which consists of Penang Island, Seberang Prai, Sungai Petani and Kulim has a combined population of 2,251,042, making it the second largest metropolitan area in Malaysia.[3]
Formerly a municipality and then a city in its own right, since 1976 George Town has been part of the Municipality of Penang Island, though the area formerly governed by the City Council of George Town is still commonly referred to as a city. George Town is also known as Tanjung (The Cape) in Malay, 乔治市 (Qiáozhì Shì) in Chinese and ஜோர்ஜ் டவுன் (Georgetown) in Tamil.
The inner city of George Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Besides enjoying excellent food, walking tours and sightseeing the beautiful old city, George Town itself does not offer that much to the adventurous tourist.
Georgetown is the capital of the island and state of Penang, on the west coast of peninsular Malaysia. It was listed by UNESCO in 2008 as a World Heritage Site, together with fellow former Straits Settlement, Melaka:
