Fall Frolics at The Georgia Museum of Agriculture & Historic Village, Tifton, Georgia!!!
The 2012 Fall Frolics event offered by the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College will feature a variety of activities each Saturday beginning on October 6.
October Saturdays Fun for Everyone at Museum of Agriculture
TIFTON—From climbing through a gigantic spider web to an up close encounter with wild animals, the 2012 edition of Fall Frolics promises to be a great lineup of October Saturdays at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Visitors can also take a ride every Saturday on train cars pulled by the 1917 Vulcan Iron Works steam locomotive.
Fall Frolics begins with the Harvest Celebration on Oct. 6 featuring the Morrill Act Exhibit Opening, mule-drawn hay rides, a 19th Century military encampment and reenactment, and a Movie under the Harvest Moon.
On Oct. 13, Critter Saturday will take over with the opening of the Georgia Wildlife Exhibit, the Langdale Nature Center grand opening, equine demonstrations by Cindy Norman, and interactive wildlife exhibits from Chehaw Park and ABAC.
On Oct. 20, visitors can take A Walk Through History with Native American re-enactors and dancers, Indian face painting, and demonstrations on spinning, weaving, preserving, and primitive skills.
Fall Frolics culminates on Oct. 27 with Trick or Treat in the Village. Children can take a trick or treat tour, see the Monster Spider Web, and listen to stories from the Village Crone. Children and adults can participate in the Museum's historic costume contest and try their hand at broom-making.
Other events during the month include the Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. Both will be open to the public every Saturday in October from 9 a.m. -- 4:30 p.m. at the Country Store near the main entrance.
Admission to the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village on Tuesday-Friday is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors (age 55 and over), $4 for children 5-16 years of age, and free for children four and under. Saturday admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (age 55 and over), $5 for children 5-16 years of age, and free for children four and under.

As part of the annual commemoration of the founding of the Georgia colony of February 12, 1733 by James Edward Oglethorpe, a tradition dating back to the earliest years of the colony’s founding, we invite you to join us as students, musicians, local dignitaries, and costumed historical figures march through Savannah’s historic squares during this beloved annual event. The 2017 Georgia Day Parade will be held on February 10, beginning at 10:45 a.m. Free and open to the public.

Georgia Agrirama
My Dad and I visited the Agrirama in Tifton, GA, in April. It is a great place to see how a farming village operated in Georgia back in the late 1850s. No YouTube back then, but it is amazing how resourceful people were back then. I asked one the ladies who was giving a tour of one of the farmhouses where them people put their widescreen. She smirked or maybe frowned at my joke.
