Mysterious Medieval Edinburgh
About this destination video:
In this (to) short trip to Edinburgh I tried to capture the mysterious and medieval vibe of the city. It was one of the most impressive city's I have seen. The buildings, the streets, it feels like the history of it never left. And with a choice of horror tours you can participate on and a lot of old stories of witches and ghost’s you can imaging J. K. Rowling wrote her Harry Potter books there.
The shot in the tunnel of lights is made the museum called Camera Obscura, awesome museum:

Harry Potter Magic and Ghosts | Alnwick Castle (HP film set) & Edinburgh
Shout out to all Harry Potter fans! We learned how to fly, fight a dragon and had an amazing behind the scenes tour of the first two Harry Potter movies, all here at Alnwick Castle.
Alnwick Castle will be familiar to you from scenes from the Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone (flying lessons, upset Hermione after the Leviosa incident and various Hogwarth scenes) and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (the car crashing into the weeping willow).
There are tours from Edinburgh to Alnwick Castle but we found it easiest to rent a car and drive ourselves (just under 2 hours). Spending a morning or afternoon suffices to enjoy the castle and the activities. The activities include:
- Dragon Quest (good for little children, disappointing for adults)
- Flying lessons (collect your tickets upon arrival)
- Movie tour (various running throughout the day)
- Historical tour (various running throughout the day)
After driving back to Edinburgh, we headed off to the Mercat Monument for our spooky Doomed Dead and Buried Ghost Tour organised by Mercat Tours.
For a reasonable price you're guided through the city of Edinburgh and get exposed to the most spooky, scary and hair raising stories! Both in the vaults (250 year old structures build under a bridge archways which only were uncovered again in the early 90s).
The stuff and stories they found informed about the grueling history of the vaults and about the inhabitants (ghosts and ghouls).
