Glacier Raft Company and Glacier Outdoor Center would like to invite you to stay in one of our beautiful log cabins during your visit to Glacier National Park. Located less than 1/2 mile from the West Entrance to Glacier National Park, our cabins are the perfect base camps to enjoy the Park and surrounding areas.
Glacier Outdoor Center has a total of twelve cabins ranging in size from one to three bedrooms. Each cabin is fully furnished including complete kitchen, air conditioning, gas fireplace, satellite TV, free WiFi and propane BBQ grill. You can play horseshoes, volleyball, and practice casting in our trout pond.
Once you are settled in, visit our office to schedule one of the many activities and tours we offer. Tackle the whitewater rapids on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River or relax on a leisurely scenic and interpretive float alongside Glacier National Park with Glacier Raft Company. We also offer fly fishing opportunities for all ages and experience levels.
Instead of a motel for your lodging, bed down in one of our log cabins nestled under the peaks of Glacier Park. You'll never sleep better during your stay around Glacier National Park.
Glacier National Park West Glacier Bridge Jumping Fun
The old entrance to glacier aka Belton Bridge was built in 1920. I had visitors all summer and the girls wanted to jump off the bridge in West Glacier behind Glacier Raft Company. I got permissions from parents out of state and off we went the day before they left for home. I took them to the bridge to jump off and have fun in this cold water. Jump at your own risk. It's dangerous.

The Auroras in Glacier National Park, Montana were out in full swing last night. Next time your camping around Glacier National Park, look up at the stars in the middle of the night and you might be able to catch the next set of Auroras. They are incredibly beautiful and will leave an indelible mark on you.

Hail Storm Rafting on Flathead River, West Glacier, MT - 6/19/13
This video captures a good portion of a hail storm that struck us on our rafting trip on the Flathead River in West Glacier, MT with the Montana Raft Company. It was filmed with a head-mounted GoPro camera. What started as a sprinkle when we shoved off quickly turned into a steady rain, followed by stinging rain with wind gusts that we estimated to be at least 30 mph, followed by at least 8 minutes of hail -- all within 1 to 1.5 miles into the trip. The hail started pea-size and some pieces were at least nickel size by the end. We were caught completely off guard and for a few minutes were all crouched over covering our head with oars, our hands, or whatever we could find, drifting aimlessly until our guide saw that the hail wasn't letting up and finally found a spot on shore that allowed us to disembark and huddle under a tree. The water temp was ~40 degrees and we later learned the air temp had dropped to ~40 degrees with a wind chill of 35. Our guide (Sarah M) was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our trip down river after the hail passed!
