Belize Day 2- Day Trip to Tikal, Guatemala from San Ignacio, Belize
This video will show you on how to go to Tikal from Belize by car.
Tikal is an ancient Mayan city in the rainforests of northern Guatemala. Possibly dating to the 1st century A.D., Tikal flourished between 200 and 850 A.D. and was later abandoned. Its iconic ruins of temples and palaces include the giant, ceremonial Lost World (Mundo Perdido) Pyramid and the Temple of the Grand Jaguar. At 70 meters, Temple IV is the tallest pre-Columbian structure in the Americas.

Tikal in Guatemala Tour from Belize City or San Ignacio
Read on below or Book Tour here:
Tikal, city and ceremonial center of the ancient Maya civilization. The largest urban center in the southern Maya lowlands, it stood 19 miles (30 km) north of Lake Petén Itzá in what is now the northern part of the region of Petén, Guatemala, in a tropical rainforest. Uaxactún, a smaller Maya city, was located about 12 miles (20 km) to the north. The Tikal ruins are the central attraction of Tikal National Park, which was established in the 1950s and designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979.
The single most talked about Mayan ruin in Central America is Tikal and it’s a pretty short trip from Belize to Guatemala. Pacz Tours offers safe, all-inclusive, one or two-day excursions to Tikal National Park as it is one of the top things to do in Belize.
Pacz Tours’ Tikal Single Day Tour leaves at 7:30am and returns at 5pm. Your tour guide is with you the whole way to fill you in on the history of the area and answer questions. At the border, you will be assisted through all the stamping and fees by your guide. For the next three and a half hours, time will rewind a thousand years. You’ll hear the howler monkeys echoing off the temples and the spider monkeys swinging tree to tree.

How to get to TIKAL 2020| Guatemala Travel Guide
Belize Vlog Day #2 - Got up bright and early for our journey to the ancient Mayan ruins in Tikal. We booked our tour through Explore Island Tours and it was AMAZING. After crossing the Guatemala border we blew a tire and had to make a road side stop where we enjoyed a few Gallo cervezas. After a long day of exploring, later that night was an epic freestyle battle, but that's on the next video ;)

Another day of ignoring the name of the youtube channel and taking buses/walking from San Ignacio to Flores. Belize also has an exit tax similar to Mexico, the tax is 40 Belize which is about £15.

Arriving in San Ignacio, Belize during Semana Santa
I arrive to my last stop in Belize, San Ignacio during Semana Santa. This is the most important holiday of the year and it is traditional to travel during long weekends. Some towns can be very hard to find accommodation or anything open. I planned to be in San Ignacio because it is touristic, has more hotels and there is lots to do. I'm also planning how to get to Tikal in Guatemala and then Palenque Mayan Ruin sites in Mexico.

BLOG POST:
After such a long first day, and a stressful first day, we decided to take a few days in Belize, and relax in San Ignacio. After all, we have been working, and preparing for this trip, which is a vacation after all, so might as well take advantage of it. San Ignacio Belize, is a very small town in a valley, sitting on a river, split between another town of Santa Elena. Arriving in the dark, seemed like not that much but as the sun rose and we took a stroll around San Ignacio, had a coffee, relaxed, we started to like the relaxed reggae vibe pretty consistent to most of Belize.
Video Leaving Playa del Carmen:
Steve had some loose ends still going on in Playa del Carmen, which he has been trying to sort out from in Belize, but its looking like things might be taking a turn. Check out the BLOG POST LINK above to read more about that.
I take Winston for a stroll along the river walk, and try to avoid the rain on the outskirts of San Ignacio, Belize.

San Ignacio, Belize.
Mixy and I created a good bond riding around, adventuring. She was fast but trustworthy.
Most Mayan history is still covered under many years of dirt and soil, as time on earth has passed by. This helps preserve the ancient creations for our future generations to experience, observe and study. Everything about the ancient civilization you would need to know is etched in the walls of stone.
The San Ignacio locals have big and welcoming hearts to everyone. The people emphasize in getting to know you in trade of learning the history of their ancestors. It was a very valuable solo trip I went on. One day I will return back to learn more of the history and hopefully let Mixy give me one more ride to the ancient temples.

San Ignacio, Belize | Exploring caves in Belize! | Central America Travel Vlog E59
TODAY:
-----------
Today we went tubing through some of the caves in San Ignacio! We decided not to go for one of the hard core caves, but to have a relaxing float down the river! It was a nice introduction to caving, without being to strenuous or freaky!
