SOLD! Classics auctioned at the Gosford Classic Car Museum
A handful of classic Australian muscle heroes have gone under the hammer as part of the inaugural Gosford Classic Car Museum auction.
Over 2000 people turned up to watch 68 cars go up for auction, ranging from a Leyland P76 to a Porsche 959 Komfort.
Buyers were most interested in classic Australian muscle cars, with none of the supercars and exotica up for sale reaching their reserves – most of which were pushing $1 million.

Gosford Classic Car Museum.
Gosford Classic Cars is home to the largest private classic car collection in this hemisphere with over 400 vehicles and motorbikes on display. The vast and exotic collection ranges from Supercars to muscle cars and everything in between. Covering an expanse of more than 11,000 square metres you are sure to come across quite a few rare cars & motorbikes you've never seen before. Car clubs are welcome to visit the display as a group and if prior notice is given we can provide a designated area for the club to display their own vehicles. Open to the public Friday, Saturday & Sunday (9am - 5pm).

Fletch visits one of the most opulent and outstanding classic car museums, located right here in Australia on the Central Coast of NSW - The Gosford Classic Car Museum, boasting one of the largest classic car & motorcycle collections in the southern hemisphere. The museum is a massive 11,000sq metres with 450 vehicles worth over $70 million dollars owned by Tony Denny who has opened the museum to the public in May 2016 and since has had over 60,000 visitors. The collection boasts 35 vehicles purchased from the Rambler Museum of WA along worth 35 Ferrari's and 35 vehicles from communist countries. Ken, the Head of Acquisitions, Sales & Buying discusses the origins of the museum and the diverse selection of vehicles that are displayed in sections according to their country of origin, e.g. Germany, Italy, UK. Australia, USA, and communist countries.
Luke, the Operations Manager for the Museum, talks about the new 'Barn find' section that features a classic E-Type Jaguar purchased from a 90-year owner, in original unrestored condition and remarkably not driven for 30 years. Another Barn Find is a 1971 Ford XY Phase 3 GTHO with the original purchase receipt (just $5370.22 in 1971).

The largest privately-owned classic car collection ever to be auctioned in the southern hemisphere is here.
Gosford Classic Cars was born out of a passion for the artistry of automobiles and has showcased hundreds of pristine vehicles over many years, sourced from Australia, the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
Lloyds are honoured to be auctioning this prestigious collection that will have over 150 vehicles go under the hammer at Gosford Classic Car Museum’s enormous facilities on the 7th April 2019.
Although the Gosford Classic Car Museum attracted in excess of 10,000 monthly visitors to the collection, irreconcilable differences with the tax office meant the museum was “left with no alternative but to close its doors”.
Former Formula One World Champion and Auction Ambassador, Alan Jones has a great passion for European classics and is one of this collection’s biggest fans. “This collection is one never to be forgotten, it is extremely special and admired by many collectors and enthusiasts across the globe, including myself”.

We took a road trip down to the Gosford Classic Car Museum in NSW and decided to get some footage so we can show you guys what's inside.
ABOUT THE MUSEUM:
Covering an expanse of more than 11,000 square metres, the museum began accumulating classic vehicles in June 2015.
It now showcases approximately 450 cars, with a total value of over $70 million. 95% of the vehicles in the collection have been bought within Australia, with the remaining cars coming from the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
The museum now welcomes automotive enthusiasts to enjoy and appreciate the magnificence of these classic and vintage cars and motorcycles. With 35 Ferrari’s on display, 25 Communist Cars and the full range of Holden’s from 1948 – 1978, there’s an impressive range of vehicles to please everyone.
Museum owner, Tony Denny spent most of his life in Eastern Europe, where he built a used car empire. He said that he had even received death threats when he started selling used cars into Russia in the early 1990s, so he knew what he was dealing when Moscow police surrounded his AAA Auto dealership in Moscow, sealing the site and marching all the employees into one small room.
After selling the majority stake in his AAA auto dealership to a polish private equity firm (Abris Capital Partners), he decided to move back home to the central coast in Australia to start relaxing and enjoying life a bit more with him wife and 2 young children.
