Mt.Fuji ascent in Japan, the 4 seasons (Ascenso al monte Fuji en Japón) Gotemba route 富士山 登山 四季
Climbing Mount Fuji, the 4 seasons. Japanese archipelago covers several climatic zones and it's location between the Asian continent and the Pacific ocean cause dramatic differences in the weather: cold, dry winters and hot, humid summers. As a result of moisture-laden clouds under the influence of cold winds blowing from Siberia, Japan includes some of the world's snowiest points. Mt. Fuji official climbing season is usually between July and September (Depending on the trail: Gotemba trail, Yoshida Trail, etc). Temperature at Mt.Fuji's peak oscillates between -25 °C in winter (wind chills of -35°C and a record of -38°C on February 1981), -15 °C in spring (March-April) and 5 to 7°C in summer. Mt.Fuji is characterized by the strong hurricane winds (of more than 20 m/s) occurring 121 days each year ( (in japanese).

El archipielago japonés cubre varias zonas climaticas y su localización entre el continente asiatico y el oceano pacifico causa dramaticas diferencias en el clima: inviernos secos y frios, con veranos humedos y calidos. Como resultado de la humedad del sureste asiatico combinado con los vientos helados provenientes de Siberia, algunas zonas de Japón se encuentran entre los puntos com mayor caida de nieve en el mundo. La temporada oficial para subir el monte Fuji es entre julio y septiembre, dependiendo de la ruta. La temperatura en la cima del monte Fuji oscila entre -25°C en invierno (-35°C con factor viento y record de -38°C en Febrero de 1981), -15°C en primavera (marzo y abril) y de 5 a 7°C en verano. Japan Trip: Mt. Fuji Hike - Quest to the Summit
Second time in Japan. First time hiking up Mt. Fuji.
Some audio is hard to hear because of the winds. Sorry!
This was a great hike, but also a bit tougher than expected especially with experiencing high winds, cold temperatures, and rain. I'd say I was already in fairly good shape but also prepared myself physically with exercise months before. There were people of all ages on this hike from young kids to older people. Be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks because buying them at huts while on the trail can get expensive the higher you go. Restroom toilets are also not free, about 200 yen. No one watches if you pay or not, but it's about the honor system so it's expected for you to pay and it helps to maintain the mountain.
I initially planned on doing this hike by booking it with a tour group. But found that it was cheaper to plan in on my own.
I booked a roundtrip bus from Tokyo (Shinjuku) that travelled directly to the Fuji Subaru 5th Station which is where most people begin their hike. Then on your return trip, be sure choose a time and plan around when you think you'd make it from the summit back to the 5th station. It took me approximately 2.5-3 hours back down.

Visiting Mt. Fuji in Japan
While vacationing in Tokyo, Japan, I took part in a guided tour out to Hakone to see the majestic Mt. Fuji. Part of the trip included visiting the Gotemba Peace Park Temple, Owakudani Valley, Lake Ashi boat ride, and a trip back to Tokyo on Shinkansen (the Bullet Train).

Magnificent Scenic Drive To Lake Yamanakako and Mount Fuji
A little late to post. This was back in January 2018 when we took the scenic mountain roads from Gotemba Premium Outlets to Lake Yamanakako to try and get a view of Mount Fuji up close. It was my wife's fourth attempt at trying to view the Grande Dame and we will not miss it for the world. Stopped by Yamanakako town for some walk about the edge of the lake too.
