Travelling back from Holidays my wife and I stopped in at the Goulburn Rail Heritage Centre where they have on display Steam as well as Diesel Loco's as well as Rolling stock.
The Goulburn Heritage Centre also has the largest based operating Roundhouse in N.S.W. and displays the historic transition from steam to diesel operations. A Range of locomotives and items of rolling stock are exhibited.
The roundhouse comprises a fascinating workshop complete with large lathe,machine shop, sheet metal, and blacksmiths station, where numerous machines have been returned to working order. The roundhouse has now a 75 foot Turntable with an electric 90 foot unit and the dismantling of 30% structure in 1975..
In recent years a group of passionate railway volunteers have formed the Goulburn Loco Roundhouse Preservation Society Inc.

Streamliners Australia 2016 - part 3 - Goulburn Roundhouse activities

Goulburn railway station by day, NSW, Australia
Goulburn Railway station, in the afternoon. The bus waiting out of the front of the station is the Cityrail afternoon service to Moss Vale, replacing the train service, which used to run before it was cut by Cityrail.
The station buildings were opened in 1869, along with the completion of the line from Sydney to Albury in 1881 (and the connection with Victorian Railways in 1883), and was a boom to the town. Later branchlines were constructed to Cooma (opened in 1889) and later extended further to Nimmitabel and then to Bombala, and to Crookwell[2] and Taralga. Goulburn became a major railway centre with a roundhouse and engine servicing facilities and a factory which made pre-fabricated concrete components for signal boxes and station buildings. A large Railway Refreshment Room opened on the island platform in 1915, closing in 1986 with the withdrawal of the Cooma Mail train.
With only three CityRail services on weekdays, and two on weekends, since a 2005 reduction in services, Goulburn station only sees trains in the early morning and evenings. A replacement bus service operates to Goulburn in the late morning, returning to Moss Vale in the early afternoon. Two CountryLink XPT services and two Xplorer services per day also use the station, heading to Melbourne and Canberra, the Saturday morning Canberra service also having a service to Griffith which divides from the Canberra service at the station. To comply with disabled access and so passengers do not have to cross the station footbridge, trains generally only use Platform 1 (for both directions). Platform 2 is used only occasionally.

Goulburn 150th Anniversary Tour - 3526 to Goulburn
On the 25th of May, 2019, the NSW Rail Museum operated a tour to Goulburn for the 150th anniversary of the railway line to Goulburn. The locomotives featured in this tour include ALCo units 4403 and 4490, as well as steam locomotive 3526.

The Goulburn Crookwell Heritage Railway ran tourist rides on the Crookwell Branchline. Featured are my trikes, Type 4 Wickhams 526 and 617. The ride covered a little over 2Km of track and passes right in front of Goulburns maximum security prison.
We were asked not to sound the horn as we went passed, everytime we did the guard in the tower would stand up and aim the shot gun at us.

Streamliners 2016: #3 - Goulburn to Sydney Express
Streamliners 2016 was held over the October long weekend from the 1st to 3rd in Goulburn, NSW.
Footage of 42101 and 4486 departing the roundhouse on Monday the 3rd and forming the train to Sydney is featured in this video.
The two locomotives are turned and coupled before departing the roundhouse and heading to Goulburn station. They then couple to 4464 and the carriages which were stabled at the station overnight before departing for Sydney.

Belmore Park, Goulburn NSW Australia
This beautiful park is located in Goulburn's historic CBD. It was named 'Belmore Park' when Lady Belmore planted the English Oak tree in the centre of the park to commemorate the official opening of the first steam railway in Australia. This Belmore Park mirrors the Belmore Park outside Central Station in Sydney, each marking an end of the Great Southern Railway line.
